holy crap 100k for one of these now? I bought a 66 samba in 76 for 700 bucks. It was my first car. I put the pie tins on the side to keep the engine cool in the hot northern calif summers.
I had no idea they were so rare. There were a few running around in redding ca back in the 70's
this bus probably went for about 80-100k because its the rare 21 window (samba) with the sun roof if it had the rear doors on both sides 110-120k easy in this condition if you did this restoration congratulations this car looks amazing... :D....
Anyone know if you can drive with the safari windows open? Like the ones up front? Or will the wind rip them off the hinges? Figured since AC didnt exist it might be Cool to drive with them open, but really dont want to wreck the windows...
I would love a bus just like this. But i don't think the rag top would hold up too well in Oregon though. It rains literally every day (except during the summer months) some times for days strait here.

I grew up seeing these all over the place and now... once in a blue moon.
I miss them.

@TheManInDboX I personally think if you where driving with them open like they are in the video, crusing around 50 km/h wouldn't do it much harm
SATANEATSCHEEZWHIZ 11 months ago
@TheManInDboX Yes you can drive with them open. Watch out for bugs and road debris.
