I personally place a very high value on evolutionary theory. I find that the interviewees in this funny video clip are ignorant of the theory.

If the interviewees had known little about the Christian story of creation I would have written instead 'the ignorance of creationism is astounding'.

In both cases I would be right to use the word 'ignorant'..

It's a pretty good question but there are many possible explanations. I think the term most used is "irreducible complexity", the idea that you can't evolve a wing incrementally because half a wing wouldn't have any use.

The answer is (as always in hind sight) pretty simple. Most of these complexer organs started out as something else. Wings may have evolved from fins for example. This is called a 'function shift' and has been observed in many species.
