  • Maasai people are so beautiful

  • i got really bored last night so i memorized this :D i can sing alongggggggg

  • YOU NOT ITALIAN , YOUR AFRICAN , WE ARE ALL AFRICANS .......WE HAVE BEEN DEVIDED PURPOSLY USING TOOLS LIKE RELIGION , AND NATIONALITY , ETC ......IT IS PROVEN THAT HUMAN LIFE ORIGINATED IN THE WOMB OF MAMA AFRICA , CIVILIZATION IS ORIGINALLY FROM MAMA AFRICA , THAT MEANS THAT WE ARE ALL CONNECTED , COMMING FROM ONE PLACE ......................BOB MARLEY DIDNT SAY IT BECAUSE HE WAS HIGH , HE SAID IT BECAUSE IT WAS THE DEVINE TRUTH ......WAKE UP WORLD AND HONOR HER

  • Such a lovely anthem. And beautifully staged. Pity it is not longer - the full Nkosi would have been wonderful. Alex from Australia.

  • This is y i'm proud to be Kenyan :D

  • hehe

  • dude on the right at 0:10

  • This just puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.

  • I think some people are confused on a point. The original song, Nkosi Sikelela, exised b/f the election of Mandela & even back when he was in prison. The new SA national anthem is a combining of Nkosi & the older Afrikaaner anthem w/ a English song which I guess is the even older anthem of SA as an English colony. It is meant as gesture of reconciliation & unity. It is rather like the flag which unites the old Boer colors w/ the ANC colors.

  • Whatare the afrikaans and english parts?

  • @LarryScottBB there is no english part to Nkosi Sikelela

  • @FikiNom of course, there is. Search the complete version, the english part is the last one.

  • @LarryScottBB

The modified version for South Africa has Afrikaans and English parts to reflect the Afrikaners and British people. The original does not.

  • @LarryScottBB

AFRIKAANS: Uit die blou van onse hemel, uit die diepte van ons see, oor ons ewige gebergtes, waar die kranse antwoord gee.

ENGLISH: Sounds the call to come together, and united we shall stand, let us live and strive for freedom in South Africa our land. :)

There are more parts between the part these guys sing and the part that I wrote to you above; a verse in Sesotho.

  • That was very good of Kenyans. The south african anthem is a basically a prayer for africa by africans. Besides that, we are all africans in the end...when a racist white looks at me and calls me a monkey, he doesn´t care to know if am a kenyan or a south african,, he sees us as one and the same thing..why would that same racist question a kenyan singing a south african national anthem? why does our unity call for their attention?

  • @shazmeeny that attire is Maasai, which is a Kenyan ethnic group. They are singing the SA anthem because they have beautiful voices , and we are all Africans at the end of the day. I hope that clears your confusion.

  • @shrinkme2008 they aren't kenyan they are an ethnic group of east Africa, i traveled with many different Maasai tribes in Tanzania

  • @shazmeeny Because we are all Africans, Kenyan or South African, we all are proud to be brothers and sisters with understanding and pride of and in one another. How more original can you be by calling out to your brother and sister and speaking to them in their own language and custom, to show them that we stand with you!

By the way I am neither Kenyan or South African, but I am African!

  • @shazmeeny You idiot! "Nkosi Sikelel'i Africa" is only one portion of the South African National Anthem which was created from five different languages -- Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English. That particular song was originally for and about Africa, the continent, not just South Africa, the country. And it is a beautiful prayer! It means God Bless Africa.

  • Daaaaaamn, beautiful!!!
