  • Ronald Reagan was homophobic he even said he didnt approve of LGBT people in a public speech and the way his administration ignored the AIDS epidemic was horrifying. Arnold twice vetoed marriage equality in California and said it should be left up to the voters and look what happened.

  • Good point!!! Ronald had Rock Hudson as a friend though and that is the only reason why he did anything for AIDS treatment. Arnold also backed McCain and we all know where he stands on Prop 8!!

  • This is so silly. Prop. 8 was nothing like 6.

No wonder this meme never caught on.

  • in the future gays will marry it is enevotable and love will surpass the religions of the world that have caused so much suffering.

  • Please! Marriage is not some sacred heaven sent word. It is just a combination of two syllables that came from Old French in the 14th century. Marriage HAS changed over the years. First, it was little more than condoned rape. Then, it was mostly a property agreement. The idea of marriage for love didn't exist till the 13th century and it was rarely a reality till the 18th century. Marriage HAS changed before and will change again.

  • hahahaha

  • Actually, "marriage" is three syllables.

  • marr-iage

  • It means that there are still plenty of ignorant people in California who want to impose their religious beliefs onto others and break down freedom of religion.

  • Exactly. Ignorance seems to go hand and hand with MOST of today's Republican Party. I am glad to see the REAL Republicans finally standing and being true to their party's platform. I am tired of seeing ignorant post from the homophobic, rascist so-called republicans. I say its time we get these Neoconservative and religious fascists out. I swear Lincoln must be constantly rolling in his grave at the sight of his Republican Party.

  • It is written as clear as day in Leviticus about incest. Exodus too I believe. You just don't get it, you are completely brainwashed by what the left wing media tells you. Where do you think the laws against incest originated from? The Bible!

  • ...and you're not brainwashed by the bible?

  • at least I would prefer to follow things the way they have for thousands of year and not get caught up in the fad of passing off EVERYTHING as acceptable

  • Well I hate to inform you, but times change.

  • yeah and our drainpipe of a society does such a "great" job at preserving morality

  • Right, so with all the world's problems why not go focus on one that actually does harm like animal abuse, world hunger, or the ECONOMY!?

Can you honestly say that Gay marriage is SO bad compared to these problems? People need to move on from this and focus on the big picture, not on taking rights away.

  • I don't know if you consider the slaughtering of animals to be abuse, but stuff like that keeps a lot of us from straving. The economy? Sure is bad, why wouldnt it be? I would love nothing more than to see that fixed.

But you are grasping at straws here. Just because there are big issues in the world it doesnt make gay marriage alright. We aren't taking rights away remember, we are trying to preserve the name of marriage, the gays are trying to destroy the sancitity of marriage

  • No, when I say abuse I mean animal neglect, animal beatings, animal starvation, ect.

Right, so DIVORCE and ADULTERY don't ruin the sanctity of marriage? If your so worried about marriage then focus on banning those first.

  • Divorce AND adultery both ruin the sanctity of marriage. I personally wish we did make it a little harder to be able to do both. But this is what I mean by a drainpipe of a society, stuff like that is getting more and more acceptable by society just like the exact thing we are talking about now

  • Dude (MACCAPONE60) I agree with you I supported the people that coted yes on Prop 8 too!

  • GOOD YES ON 8

  • It's a lie that you're not taking away rights. Civil unions do not have all the same rights as marriage. Gays are trying to destroy the sanctity of marriage? How? By participating they're trying to add to its sanctity, not destroy it. How is having a commited, monogamous, life long marriage with somebody of the same sex destroying the sanctity of marriage? Stop feeling so superior. Being straight doesn't make you better than gay people, nor does it mean you should have more rights then them.

  • First of all, the intention of marriage in the first place was between a man and a woman. So if two men are trying to do the same that IS destroying the sanctity of marriage right off the bat.

  • How? Your statement implies that somehow heterosexual love is better than homosexual love. It isn't. All men are created equal.

  • All men are created equal, that's right. But the truth is, marriage was meant and intended for just two different people, male and female together. Outside of that it wasn't meant for anything else it's just been man-made this whole gay marriage movement

  • It's not man-made any more than straight marriage. It's just nature at work. (Only for a minority of people of course)

  • There have been committed, monogamous gay couples for thousands of years. Why would we deny them rights? It's just so wrong. Your religion can pass judgement on them, but your government cannot!

  • Last time I checked, Prop 8 passed, and the government IS going against them. Hey look, even the most liberal state in the USA went against you, that must mean something

  • Yeah it means the US has a long way to go before they grant basic civil liberties to all of its citizens.

  • And there have been commited, monogamous gay couples since time began just as there have been straight couples. So this idea that things have suddenly changed after thousands of years doesn't hold water. The only difference is that before prop 8, they had equal rights. Now gay people have the rights of second class citizens. It's okay if you don't think it's acceptable. It's not okay for you to strip away their rights.

  • And women didn't have the right to vote for hundreds of years. That logic doesn't work.

  • It's like a pro-abortionist saying they believe God has no problem with abortion which is insane because I can't even begin to explain the numerous times God condemns murder. It's better to not throw God's name in the mud rather than try to convince people that he would be on your side. You know deep down where God stand on this

  • We don't use the bible for everything. I am a true christian but I am also a citizen who respects the law of the land. The bible also says its Ok to have incest why don't follow that too. The Lord blesses me with the wisdom to know right from wrong and denying someone's to basic right of family and happiness is wrong. Any intelligent christian would understand that. I'll ask the Lord replenish your heart with love and compassion for yourself and others.

  • I always thought Republicans were bad.

    im sorry

    But now I love them.

    NO ON 8

  • moniequa, why I was comparing incest marriages to gya marriages is because if you promote one there is no way you cannot promote the other. I am at least consistent, I am against both. You are for one but not the other. If a brother and sister want to marry who are you to say it is morally wrong? See how weird that sounds? Now you know how all of us Prop 8 supporters feel when we hear you guys

  • Stupid liberals, you are all brainwashed by the Hollywood media so easily, no wonder our world is so screwed up with so many weak minded people running around, we're in a recession, a serious one at that and these morons are freaking out because Gay's can't use the words marriage when they basically get the same thing with a 'civil union', Marriage is between a man and a woman, and if you fags and dykes don't like that, then too fucking bad, DEMOCRACY SAID YES TO PROP 8! END OF F'N STORY.

  • You are a dinosaur, and you are going DOWN. Prop 8's days are numbered. Have a nice time living on the trash heap of history. No one will shed a tear when your hate-mongering kind are gone.

  • Sucks to be you guys! You lost!

  • GO!!!Reagan and Schwarzenegger!!!

  • And just look at what is happening now that the voice of the people didn't vote against proposition 8, now they are having a panel of seven justices, six of whom already voted to review the challenges.

If this is not a wake up call then nothing is, what is next? Anything the voice of the people votes for will only become law if certain groups "approve" of their votes?

This is an issue of serious concern for all Americans if we want to preserve all of our freedoms, period.

  • Aequitas666, if you want to get the law envolved then that is how the law works. You will not get special right to discriminate against a minority group. Those judges will make their decisions according to the law, not according to want you want, if that is the case, we all can vote to ban taxes or to mandate church attendants. Please think before you speak.

  • oh and also, PROPAGANDA up the heezy with this proposition, even after it's already been passed.

  • I am a republican against H8!

    I am a christian against H8!

And I am a straight woman against H8!

God is love, so be it.

  • Prop 8 Protest in New York

    Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008

    Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Location: New York Manhattan Mormon Temple

Street: 125 Columbus Ave at 65th Street

    City/Town: New York, NY

  • Someone can walk over our boarder and have more rights than our gay and lesbian Californians. The same Californias who teach in our schools, protect our streets, and work in our hospitals. Is this right? Hell NO. I can only pray the Calif. Sup. Court will overturn it again. Give them their rights. 99.9 % of them are tax payers. They are not living on welfare. This saddens a straight black male in California. I know I'm not the only one out there...

  • You ARE born Gay. It's in your genes you dumbass, just as it is in your genes to want to fuck a girl it's in your genes the other way around. Where do you think attraction as such comes from? Humans are just like animals with instincts. There's no such thing as WANTING to be Gay. Do you really think someone would go through all of the hardship of being a social outcast because he decides to?

  • Good call. You can't argue with religious bigots who don't believe in science.

  • i'm sorry this is kind of off topic, but LOL@ your username. i can't take anyone seriously who has the word, "SLUT" in their username, i'm sorry lol.

  • Where's the irony in this? Does your church make you ignorant? Who chooses to be gay? Give me a break! Keep your religion out of people's lives.

  • Hanslowe, you are a fool. I too was born a black man and my wife and I refuse to discriminate against people rights. Human rights. I bet your stupid ass voted yes on prop 8 and yes on prop 2. Giving chickens more rights than humans. We have a 10 year old daughter and if she comes to me one day and says she is gay. I will accept her choice. No one raises their kids to be gay. We give them the tools to be a strong woman or man. You need to grow up and get real. From Compton Ca.

  • i love how liberals will use Regan any chance they get for their bullshit. no need arguing now fagots it prop 8 passed whether u liked it or not

  • No you didn't .... "Fagots"??? I hope you are not teaching this hate to your kids. If you are not old enough to have kids... Know this. Our Californians between the ages of 18-29 overwelming voted No on prop 8. 70% to 30% It's only a matter of time. I am sadden that my fellow black bro's and sister's voted Yes on Prop 8. I forgive them because they too allowed the Church to taint the rights of humans. Come see me in Compton Ca. with your hate.

  • LOL yea right Compton CA, bullshit half the people down their dont even know that theirs a black president let alone vote. and second if a child does not have a mother and a father then u might as well be teaching him hate cause his morals are already messed up. come on whats wrong with u, the black community should be the first to know that having a father in a household is essential.

  • i'm 22 and voted yes on 8. my bf is 21 and voted yes on 8. don't assume the general "young generation" all voted NO on that. think of it like this - for the overwhelming amount of people who voted OBAMA in MY state (california), the majority of THOSE individuals voted YES on 8. and for those who think it's a "religious" reason, not particularly. i know a lot of atheists who voted yes on 8, as well.

  • Xhormonx - if not for religious reasons, why did you vote yes? Why take away rights from people who just want to love each other? How would you feel if someone told you that you could never marry your boyfriend?

  • did i say "i didn't vote for religious reasons regarding prop 8" at all in my statement above? NO. re-read what i wrote. i said, "...and for those who think it's a "religious" reason, not particularly. i know a lot of atheists who voted yes on 8."

i'm bisexual. it's simple really. the term, "marriage" is a definition and term instituted by religion. civil unions are already granted in my state. same legal benefits and such. the whole "fight" against has nothing to do with hating anyone.

  • It is about forbidding gays people from using the word marriage, so it is hate, it is discrimination, and prejudice at its finest.

  • ummm, moniequa for thousands of years marriage was between a man and a woman. We werent wrong then, nor are we today. It is a sacred word, don't misuse it

  • For the thousands of years the earth was thought to be flat, witch hunt was acceptable, and blacks were slaves. Throughout history people like you looked for ways to control, oppress, and to discriminate against those who don't look, think, and act like you. Let it go, they're children of mother nature allow her to decide what to do with her children.

  • There's a difference between a woman getting hung for belief that she may have been a witch and a gay person bitching and moaning because they can't say they are "married". Like wtf there's no comparison.

  • The difference was the people that were against blacks had absolutely no moral reason to do so. The reason people are against gay marriage is morals not prejudice. The world has worked just fine with the normal way things are, marriage has always been between a man and a woman. You say mother nature should decide, well, to tell you the truth God decided that a long time ago

  • It has nothing to do with morality. Only 30 years ago, the church argued against interacial marriage base on moral. They said that God created different races so that people would be different, if God wanted to everybody to mix he would have created them the same. People, especially who haven't thought it through, have always bought into this God's arguementation. Many countries have allowed gay marriage and they are doing just fine. Please ask God to remove this hatred from your heart.

  • Churches, or any kind that have been against interracial marriages did so based on prejudice and nothing more. There is absolutely no biblical backing that God would be against interracial marriages. There is enough though to prove that God intended for marriage to be an exclusive club between a man and a woman. If it makes you feel better to think that this is hate speech then knock yourself out. But gay marriage is a moral issue, started by God and placed in our heads by God

  • I am against gay marriage because my moral conscience and religious understanding direct me to. It is not homophobia, a lack of education, prejudice or hate.

There is plenty in the Bible condemning homosexuality along w/fornication and other acts believed to be sinful. The Old Testament is well known for it (Leviticus) and the New Testament talks about it too: Romans 1: 24-27 & 1 Cor 6:9 for example. Interpret as you will, but don't misjudge my motives.

  • But to be clear, I would be OK w/homosexual marriage despite my personal views IF I could be advised of any teaching regarding homosexuality BEFORE it was taught in school AND IF I had the right to pull my children from class should I not want them to participate.

  • Thousands of years ago, we were naked, living caves, eating raw meat, pulling women by their hair beating them with the clubs, and there were no marriage ceromonies. People were having sex randomly, do you really want to go back? Also polygamy and incestual sex were accepted, do you want to go back? Come on now, you are too intelligent then to go backward and to get caught up in this argument.

  • I wouldnt even call what we have today great either. As it stands, straight people don't take marriage serious enough. Divorces are flying left right and center. Young couples would prefer to just shack up and live together instead of getting what is considered by many to be nothing more than a piece of paper. Marriage as it is gets disrespected enough. Don't add to it

  • I am not adding anything negative to marriage. I respectfully ask that you think logically not emotionally. Like you, I used to think that allowing gay marriage was morally wrong but I looked at countries that allow it, they're fine. And we have the options to either marry them in our church or not. I looked at every espect of this issue and I reailzed that we can't discriminate against them. I know its hard to think logically when our emotion runs high but I know you can.

  • Do you believe that a brother and sister have the right to marry? Most people don't, but if you so adamantly support gay marriage how in the world can you discriminate against anything else? Mother/Son, Brother/Sister, Brother/Brother. Where would you draw the line? I draw it in the same place it has been in the last few hundred years and we are fine that way

  • Once again you let your emotion do the talking. If you think about it just alittle more you'll see that incest and gay marriage are 2 different things. Incest harms others, deformed kids and gay marriage doesn't. Think alittle further you'll see that people can use ur arguement against heteromarriage: If we allow a man & a woman to get married why not a brother & a sister or mother/son. Youre too intelligent to fall into this hate trap, think logically & free urself from this abyss of hatred.

  • moniequa what I talk about has nothing to do with hate. That is a strong word and I would ask that you refain from using it. That is the only defense is that people claim that the only reason you can be against gay marriage is hate. You can hate the sin, not the sinner. Make sense? Plus there are vasectomies, abortions (unfortunately) that can prevent a child from being born out of incest. Take the kids away and how do we as a society deny that kind of marriage? A whole new can of worms open up

  • You're right hate is little too strong. I'm a christian and I strongly beleive gays are God's children and God created them the way they are and if they God has problem with them then let God deal with them; until then I only can respect people's equal right. Vasectomies, abortions, and taking ways children don't stop the damage that is done by incest. Once again, gay and incest are not the same, your analogy is completely out of wack. Please give me logical reasons why gays shouldn't marry.

  • As a Christian you should be fully aware that incest and homosexuality go hand in hand according to God. This is not me saying this, but it is considered an equal abomination in God's eyes. That is enough for me right there. God gives us all free will, a choice. He creates everyone with different tendencies. Some he creates are more likely to be pedophiles, some are more tempted by the same sex. It is up to the person whether or not they want to commit these sins.

  • As a christian you should know that god doesn't comdemn incest. Lot's daughters slept with him (Genesis 19:23-25, 30-36). According to you, since the bible allowed incest we should allow incest marriage. Your arguement is base on your feeling, it has absolutely no base to it.

  • monieque-

Wrong. There is nothing in the Bible condoning the act of Lot's daughters. There is simply a story told about an event--it never says God approved it. In fact, Lot's daughters had to get him passed-out drunk to do the deed. Additionally, according to the Bible, the daughters did this because they believed humanity would have died otherwise. Stretching that to say "The Bible condones incest" is stooopid.

  • God certainly does condemn incest. There was absolutely no other choice to populate the world. God knew this. The gene pool was pure at that time so there were no birth defects. Adam and Eve's children (they had a ton of them) had to procreate with each other since there was no other option and at that time God did not condemn incest knowing that the earth had to be populated. Once the world became populated God sent Moses and passed a law condemning incest. This was in the book of Leviticus

  • You also have to remember the time of the law of incest passed. We grow up with our siblings in our house. We view them as brother/sister. Adam and Eve had so many children that there wasnt that emotional connection that you would feel with a brother today. Besides, keep in mind Adam and Eve didnt have any shame of being naked in front of each other until God pointed it out. Same with incest, homosexuality etc.

  • Lets come back to the main arguement, you don't have any logical reason against gay marriage, you give me all these emotional reasons that doesn't make any sense. I know deep down you know that deny someone's right to love is wrong. You should stop and think critically before revoking someone's happiness away.

  • Biblical backing is an emotional reason? No it isn,t. I am a Christian, and my beliefs tell me that marriage was meant to be between a man and a woman and was intended to be the strength of our society. It was meant to be sacred as well. You should really flip things over. Instead of telling me how to think you should give me a reason why we need to re-align the sanctity of marriage. You haven't yet. You have simply been brainwashed by the left wing media and our society

  • You're entitled to your belief and others are to theirs. I'm not brainwashed but tought to be logical. We can't write the law according to the bible. As a Christian, I don't want people to interfere with my faith so I don't interfere with theirs. You won't like it if a group of muslims make a law to forbidden women from being in public or making women wear burkas all day? The Karan may says so but you're not muslim you should be able to do whatever that you want to do. I'll pray for you.

  • The difference is North America was built on Christian values, plain and simple. Not on the Koran. In the middle east they can do what they want but I certainly would not go there and tell them how to live. Which is why I am here and they are there. But you need to stop trying to discredit the sancitity of marriage. I find it to be an important thing in our society. I appreciate the prayers, but I insist, I will pray for you and the sanctity of marriage

  • I think you're delusional, North America was not built on Christian values but on freedom to life, liberty, and pursue of happiness. You just trampled all over that, not everybody is christian stop beating them with our bible. I respect santity of marriage that is why I support gay marriage so they can have family too. You, on the other hand don't, you just want them to sleep around without any contengency. Pray for me; but the Lord knows whose heart is not pure.

  • Well just take a look at the laws we have in North America. Looks a lot to me like a sample of the Ten Commandments among other things. Did we as humans decide it was wrong to cheat, lie, steal and murder? No, we had to get the idea from someone didnt we? If God is against two men "laying together" what in the world makes you think he's all for gay marriage? I can understand an atheist denouncing God and coming up with their own views but I think you should know better.

  • That ain't prejudice, it's called reality, if people wanted to marry two pieces of fruit and the state refused them, would you call that prejudice too? Two men/women want to get married, well guess what! It doesn't work like that, marriage is between a man and a woman, how fucking hard is that to understand?

  • and before you go off on an argumentative tangent on me, saying, "no they aren't giving them the same rights!" go read section 22 in my state's laws, granting them civil partnerships and giving them the same legal benefits.

and i don't know why the atheists i know voted "yes". i don't care to ask them. it's none of my business as it is none of your business as well. people will agree to disagree. it's a democracy - get used to that or move out.

  • Xander, you know that xhormonix is one of those ignorant conformists who just do whatever the church tell them to do. She lies when she said she voted yes on 8 just for the sake of voting yes. She is nothing but a follower.

  • I'm 19. I voted no. Not because due to religious rights or whatever the hell. But because I saw everyone else with the same equality. I wouldn't want to run anyone's rights at all. They want to get married, hell let 'em. I find it absurd to point fingers just because "it doesn't look right".

  • Congratulations! You have been brainwashed by the media and society! Seriously you people think you are so socially advanced, but your lack of faith in God shows how closed minded you all truly are.

  • Don't bring god in to this. You're judgment towards others is none of your own right to do so. Let God do that. If it's wrong to the God you know, or THINK you know, don't be so sure, you as well might be walking closed minded on faith that you have so wrong.

  • That is just to show you ignorance has no age limite or religious boundaries. Any intelligent person would no that gay marriage doesn't affect their lives and therefore it is unecessary to revoke their right to merry. it is saddened that we still have so many prejudice people in this world.

  • cry me a river, build me a bridge, and jump off it. and before doing so, learn how to use spell check when necessary before trying to come across more "intelligent"

  • Oh wow, did you come up with all of that on your own? You know how to spell wow I'm so impressed. Learn how to distinguish the difference between youtube and graduate school. I can spell however I want. What are you going to do about it? Your sentense structure is shitty.

  • Schwarzenegger: Now you should propose that the immigrants should not govern in USA. Euphemist and opportunist ( do u know those words ?? UNCULTIVATED like all the republicans ...

  • NO on 8! GAYS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!

  • mentally insane people

  • I saw a pro-8 sign that talked about freedom of speech today. I'd really like someone to explain to me how taking away people's right to marry gives you free speech.

The lies told in the name of Christianity just astound me.

  • In America today, if you say that you don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle, then you are automatically gay-bashing.

  • Oh? Imposing your religion on others is "right"? Not in America it isn't.

  • Enough is enough! Only the facts will answer everyone's questions and opinions. Please view the facts at: .com/watch?v=4JZIJnJWZBQ

  • VOTE NO ON 8!

  • I voted NO, why were voting on civil rights is beyond me but since it's come to that, VOTE NO!

  • and how does being a gay basher make you a "real man"?

  • dumbass....

  • I already Voted NO on 8! It's not good for California as a whole! It's costly, we tax payers shouldn't be paying for any part of this Prop 8 or it's future legal costs, are we? California business and citizens should not have to worry about taxes while others don't pay their share tax! What gets me is that an out of state religion is pushing this on us, and calling on their followers to donate and vote for it. That is SCARY! It reminds me of Jim Jones. Everyone, Vote NO on 8!

  • I already voted NO

  • Thank you, sincerely.

  • GREAT AD! VOTE NO!

Don't let religious freaks control our country.

Gay people serve in every branch of the military defending our country, and our rights.
