Missile technology as well as radar technology have advanced whereby STEALTH is not as STEALTHY as it was even 10 years ago. I was at an airshow not long ago and saw a simulated straffing run by an A-10 and it is true, you can't hear them until they strike. They tried decommissioning the A-10 but it is a proven tank killer and ground strike aircraft.
That plane was way too big to be a fighter jet. The distance between the phantom to ground and the mystery plane to ground doesn't ad up. Crashing plane must have been a large airliner/cargo plane. Lets hope cargo because there's no way anyone survived that.

Israel has 87 F-15s, and 309 F-16s.

I've seen the US reviews too, some are bullshit and comletely wrong like the ones made by the Washington Post, whose statements have been disproved. Also Iran is a country at least 5 times bigger than Afganistan and is more mountaineuos than Afgfanistan, and has a population of 80 million people. Also they are able to mobilize about 12 million men...

@USMCpoolee19 And lets talk about those weapons. In Navy they have supercavitating torpedoes, which are impossible to evade (travel at over 500km/h). They rely on speed boats and smaller units in their tactics, as big warships are very vulnerable to those kind of attacks.
When it comes to land forces i don't think US is stupid enough to make a land attack, but if they indeed do there is no way they can win. The region is so hard to fight even Taleban could win there.

@hondascott996 over 50 years but they are built very well. A-10's have been shot full of holes and still make it home. B-52s have an expected service life of 100 years because it so well designed. I was at an airshow not long ago and saw a simulated straffing run by an A-10 and it is true, you can't hear them until they strike. They tried decommissioning the A-10 but it is a proven tank killer and ground strike aircraft.
