I guess will never know:) but I do know that I quit smoking real cigs cause of E-Cig:) thank you thank you! you saved my life and I dont smell like an ash try.
The nicotine from these e-cigarettes are derived from vegetables. In addition, it doesn't contain all the toxins in real cigarettes. They aren't far more expensive than traditional cigarettes. A pack of regular cigarettes in the USA costs anywhere from $5.00 to $8.00 a pack. A cigarette costs about $20, and the refills costs about $2 per pack. In the long run, you will save money. Every time you smoke, you will save $3 to $5 per pack. If you smoke a pack a day, you will save $90 to $150 a month.
E cigs are so much cheaper than analogs. My husband quit smoking analogs the first day he bought an e cig. He recieved a whole kit with 2 batteries as well as lots of e juice and many different cartomizers for 140.00 cdn$. Its been 4 months since hes had an analog and he went from spending 10-15.00 daily on smokes to about 10.00 a week on ejuice...id say well worth it.! There will always be critics i guess...
yup...b4 im smokin 2packs a day...now im introduced to vaping,,,i dont feel to smoke analog cigs anymore...no bad smell...no health risks...trying different accesories is fun...vaping is fun....tip: try mixing marlboro flavor with mint...just a tip...
on the contrary, this product may actually help break addiction, it actually opens up a window of opportunity for smokers to wean themselves off of nicotine because it can now be down regulated from high, medium or "NO NICOTINE" at all.
But I don't give a fuck what the say, I just try only one E-cigarrete and like it, I stop smoking regular cigarrete(marlboro) right away. This Ecigarrete works, and now I'm consuming nicotine and for some reason I feels better!! hahah Yes u r right, LESS much chemicals!!!!!!!
@brujerizmo1000 You said you're consuming nicotine and you feel better. Less chemicals.
Here's an analogy.
Getting mugged is scary. Someone's probably waving a weapon in your face, threatening to hurt or kill you if you don't hand over your wallet.
Being pick-pocketed... not so scary. You don't even know it's happening until it's over... and even though you feel better (because you don't feel anything at all), the truth is, your wallet has been taken by someone else.
Nicotine is bad for you. Tests in mice show that nicotine is more toxic than cocaine. Whereas a 60mg dose of nicotine applied directly to the tongue can kill a person who weighs 160 lbs, a lethal dose of cyanide for the same person is 500mg. The fact that you don't feel the scary effects of the tar and those other chemicals mean that you're still poisoning yourself... but now you're happier about it.
I'm pretty sure Marloboro and Camel is pushing ("excellent pay") to talk shit about the ecigarretes, BUT, why the stupid media don't try a comparations about Ecigarrete VS regular cigarrete? After a research, the media can let the public which one contains less hazards chemicals. Did U think about it before?
Smoking regular cigarettes nowadays is much dirtier in your car or anywhere else as they put a chemical to make it go out if you haven't puffed on it for a while. It sure is alot harder to keep ashes from getting all over your car.The e -cigarette is so much cleaner!
ADDICTED? IS IT BETTER TO SMOKE REAL CIGS WITH RAT POISON AND CARPET GLUE? GIVE ME A BREAK, AS FAR AS COST? INITIAL COST FOR ECIG IS AROUND 60 BUCKS, LESS THAN A CARTON FOR CIGS, I REFILL MY OWN FILTER, FINAL COST? 8 BUCKS A MONTH VS 16 BUCKS A DAY
@barbiesatty Do you realize that nicotine is insecticide? Just because you're putting fewer poisons into your body doesn't change the fact that you're still putting poison into your body.
@Poisonshady313 You do realize that nicotine is metabolized quickly, right? At the doses found in ecigarettes, it poses about as much danger as caffeine in a cup of coffee. It doesn't buld up. Smoking is so dangerous because of the SMOKE and TAR that does not metabolize. It builds up on your lung tissue and takes years to clear after you quit smoking.
Caffeine is also poison. Too much of it and you will die. As a matter of fact, the side-effects from nicotine and caffeine are identical.
@grababrain It's funny you mention that last bit... on the Wikipedia page for caffeine, it has a graphic that lists the various symptoms of caffeine overdose. The Wikipedia page for Nicotine has a similar graphic... but for "nicotine", as opposed to "nicotine overdose".
Even the dictionary suggests that nicotine is worse than caffeine:
Caffeine: a white, crystalline, bitter alkaloid, C8H10N4O2, usually derived from coffee or tea: used in medicine chiefly as a nervous system stimulant.
Nicotine: a colorless, oily, water-soluble, highly toxic, liquid alkaloid, C10H14N2, found in tobacco and valued as an insecticide.
Even the scrabble dictionary makes the distinction. Figure it's a conspiracy by Big Caffeine to cover up "the truth"?
@Poisonshady313 The dose makes the poison. Too much water and you'll die, too. And we'll just breifly touch on the fact that chlorine and fluoride (rat poison) are added to your tap water, just to prove that point. Your body needs trace amounts of arsenic, mercury and iodine to function properly but in large amounts, they're highly poisonous.
@grababrain That was a nice burn to someone who thinks he/she knows everything. Good job man... but you're right though, that person has facts on hand, but showed nothing on trying to disprove your point.
I smoked for more than 30 years at an average of 20+ sticks a day. I tried everything from gum to nicotine patches and nothing worked.
That is until I tried this. I've been tobacco free for months now and I don't really care what they say. What I know is that I kicked the habit and my 'addiction' to this device is going down. From a canister of 'juice' a week to the same canister now lasting 2 weeks or even more.
I am happy. My family is happy. The nay-sayers can all jump in the lake. :D
@lveroy You can be even happier if you read the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. It's not as well known as it should be, which is a shame, because it works. The book costs between 10 and 15 bucks, takes only a few hours to read, and by the time you're done, you're more than happy to be free from the slavery of nicotine addiction. It's certainly worth a shot. IF it doesn't work, which is unlikely, you can go on with e-cigs.
I heard that when nicotine reacts with air it becomes carcinogenic but I'm not sure. Also nicotine is speculated to damage the cell wall linings. So it's probably not as safe as caffeine.
But in terms of safety my guess is: Nicotine patch > Nicotine Gum > E-Cigarette>Cigarette
Tobacco cigarettes have a highly addictive form of nicotine. At least our brand contains a natural form of nicotine that is much less addictive. Our customers enjoy our product and say it is helping them to quit easily.
Our basic kit is $100, but with the savings you get on the refill cartridges, you end up saving a substantial amount of money as you quit and because you quit.
I've smoked marlboros for 22 years. These are better. I'm addicted to nicotine. 7 bucks a pack can go to hell. Thats at least 350 a month. 120 bucks got me a setup and some ejuice as they call it. One bottle of ejuice is going on 3 days at 12.99 a pop, and I spilled a bunch figuring it out. 21-13=8 bucks I save at least. Besides the initial investment. Oh yeah, cheaper.
The electronic cigarettes are amazing. I've been smoking one for 2 days now and all the nic-fits I've had have been quenched by using it. I tried a traditional "analog" cigarette as were apparently calling them; you know just to see, and it kind of taste like paint. The only thing I've heard that is on the downside is that because of the water vapor you can get pneumonia. It is my guess that if you're at risk of getting pneumonia anyway it's probably not a good idea to use it.
@elimi I don't know where they got that "pneumonia" idea. In the ecig, the nicotine is carried by a propylene glycol (PG) and/or vegetable glycerin (VG) base -- the base for most artificial flavors, too.. The water vapor comes from the air and from your mouth.
In fact, ecigs will dry your mouth and throat, so you have to drink more water when using them.
@grendelwok I don't know either. The manager at a store I service was telling me that. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Maybe somebody came up with something to deal with something cutting into their profit margins. Maybe not. I think somebody somewhere knows that I'm not spending at least 2600 dollars per year on a product they produce.
I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this as i am not about to check thousands of comments but no one is mentioning the fact that there is a no nicotine cartridge option. hello?!?!?? Also I have never seen anyone smoking these in places where cigs are not allowed i.e. dept stores, food joints or hospitals. Not saying they dont, of course. But when they do does it get annoying if/when they are approached and told to put it out?
Do not trust anything the World Health Organization has to say. They are just concerned about the tabacco companies on Wall Street. If Youre against Wall Street and the WTO, buy an E-cig.
I am waiting for mine in the post right now. I've been smoking for around 8 years and want to quit now while i'm still young. I managed to stay smoke free for a year once, after going cold turkey, but started up again. I think the hardest part about giving up is not the phyical addiction but the physiological addiction. I'd be happy to use the e ciggerettes without any nicotine, just so i still have that breathing action of the smoke (vapor)
I spend a lot less money on E-cigs than I ever did on cigarettes at $6.50 a pack and almost 2 packs a day! It worked for me and now I do reviews of E-cigs and E-liquid on my channel because I want people to know that they work!
Wonder why this e-cig thing isn't more popular? They've been around for years, and contrary to this fuckness of a "news report" it's much cheaper than cigarettes, because it isn't heavily taxed. 500ML for 30 bucks. The man doesn't want you to have this. They are going to find every flaw with this (making up loads of bullshit along the way) to keep this unpopular, (before banning it). These things are WAY better than smoking in more than one way. Governments-big media-tobacco company circle jerk.
This story lying about the cost. I only spend 75 dollars a month on my ecig habit compared to 250 I was spending on regulars cigs (That was a year and a half ago).
I don't know what the long term health problems may be but I can tell you I don't smell like a damn ashtray anymore and I can actually breath now (I use to smoke two and a half packs a day).
This piece is obviously enticing the stupid moral judgement that it is wrong to be addicted to something, even if it is not bad for your health. Sometimes drugs make life more comfortable, more bearable, more entertaining. I think when you criticize someone for something they do personally and spiritually you are just being a majoritarian, cowardly, politically correct douche
bought a starter set today, with about 40 ml of different eliquids I paid 60 Euro, and that should be enough for two months, and then I only need to refill the liquid or by a new atomizer occasionally, hey this is WAY cheaper than "pyro" smoking, calculate it..
What would be cool is if they made it so after you quit, you could just recharge it or something, and give off a puff of smoke for fun. Without buying more E-cigarettes.
hey franky...i'm here with you man....i'm struggling to quit smoking as my mom always nagging me about smoking....i think e-cig is one of the way for me to stop my hazardous habit....
I got the ego from cigtech the kit was under $70 including shipping, it came with two 6-12 hour batteries, two cones, two atomizers, 5 carts, usb & electric recharger, Their other kits are even less, so with a bottle of juice, this will last a few months, so I'm not seeing how they can say it is more expensive, I'm actually saving hundreds, while reducing my nicotine intake, breathing better and smelling better.
The best quality selling e cigs on the market I would say hands down would be Nugen smokes.. they have a 100 % money back guarantee if u dont like the product and are very affordable.....starter kit only 69 bucks which is pretty amazing that the e cigs are highest of quality ...Check them out by clicking on my name and going to my channel then clicking on the blue web site link.......This will save u lots of money and time from buying crappy products
Second lie, it's more expensive. WRONG! The initial investment is $100 dollars to refill it it's the equivalent of ~$2 a pack. Let's be honest, how much money do you spend on cigarettes a month?
It's sad to see how corporations control our country and poison our minds with propoganda in the interest of $. Even the world health organization is full of shit and it;s obvious to anybody with a little common sense.
@itanimullitenretni in China i bet smoking regular cigarettes is cheaper, but in canada where a premium pack of cigarettes is $12 ecigs are defiantly cheaper.
There is a lot of sense to your statement. Although cigarettes and other tobacco products are awful & expensive habits and doctors constantly preach against them , if we look at things realistically they are a vital source of revenue for the USA tax wise. Our economy is shitty enough these days , now imagine tomorrow everyone stops buying cigarettes , cigars and dip , it would throw us into the dark ages. Of course the US government is going to discourage the use of any safer alternative
This article IS propaganda. The government collects a LARGE portion of taxes from those who smoke cigarettes. If people invest in a product like this, the government loses money. The fact that the e-cigarette contains only nicotine, and not the THOUSANDS OF ADDITIONAL CHEMICALS that traditional cigarettes contain, makes it a lot better for you. Also, since you're inhaling vapors and not smoke, you're not burning your lungs. If you're a smoker looking to quit, buy it before they ban it!
I think the reason they say this is more expensive than cigarettes is because in a lot of countries, cigarettes are still dirt cheap without their government driving the tax on tobacco way up like they do here in the US. I personally switch from smoking to vaping over a year ago and has not touched a regular cigarette since. I don't stink like a ashtray and I feel much better breathing and much better for knowing I am not harming anyone anymore... And yes, here in the US, it's way way cheaper
Once again i just got a 10 cartridge rechargeable pack with a battery and a charger for only 5.95 shipping. a sample pack. from hybridflame and when it gets here i will order a nice huge bottle of toxin free ejuice (smokejuice) and i will be able to smoke for over 1 month with only that, thats 5.95 for the kit, and the cost of the smoke juice.
which is 16.99 at libertyflights
so what were u saying about more expensive than real cigarettes?
You Non smokers and militant reformed smokers disgust me.....I smoke over two packs a day spend over 160 bucks per week on cigarettes...I tried every which way possible to quit smoking...patch, gum (which was a waste of money and more harmful to my health) and each time I tried I was constantly irritable..extremely so...(not good for a truck driver) I recently tried these at the request of my daughter and I'm not irritable anymore.
@frankylovesyall Maybe this GOV is interested in YOU not being an addict. Because addiction leads people to do and try products that are definitely unhealthy - not just for them but for the rest of us. What is it that makes one so WEAK that they have to use such a disgusting product? I know plenty of people who kick the filthy addiction/habit, but the vast majority are plainly WEAK and destructive. I do not accept E-cigs as a permanent alternative to cigarettes.
@milackk7 if they were interested in us not becoming addicts, they wouldn't be A: putting so much money in its production, and B: putting in new chemicals to make a person even more addicted to it.
@milackk7 You sound like a self-righteous idiot who has never been addicted to a tobacco product. My own M.D. said that E-cigs are much better for you than smoking tobacco or dipping. Go bleat your drivel to your sheeple friends, fool.
@bunkerrr5 I'm an idiot? No sir! I'm not the one smoking, or vaporing. I'm not the one making excuses for piss poor habits that affect all of us. And I'm certainly not the one to quote my doctor to allege he 'supports' this device. Go fuck yourself if you cannot be a man and live a healthy straight life.
wrong, if there is a tar-free electronic product with 4000 chemicals less, including the benefits no smell and no ashtrays, and the Government rather prefers keeping (HIGH TAXED) cigarettes legal and prohibiting (TAXFREE)e-cigarettes instead, than is there not something fishy? Please think again....
These have helped my boyfriend go from over a pack a day, to not buying any for over a month now, which is when he got his 3-cig. You only need to get the rechargeable part once, and the filters that contain the nicotine and water vapor, so it makes the smoke, comes in a pack of 5 filters. Each filter=1 pack of cigarettes and the pack of 5 costs less than 3 packs of cigarettes! Plus, he doesnt go through a filter a day because he doesnt have to commit to a whole pack everytime he wants to smoke.

Typical rich doctor with no clue. As soon as the FDA gets involved billions of dollars in testing will be required and prices will go way up. Then only people with great insurance or lots of money will have access and only rich pharmaceutical companies will make money off of it.
They only contain 2 ingredients..nicotine and either PG or VG. VG is vegetable glycerine..natural and PG propylene glycol..which is already in shampoo, makeup, lipstick and is used as a food additive. Get over it doc!!
@frankylovesyall same here i quit smoking using ecigs and i feel great now. and if they are scared of people getting addicted why dont they use non nicotine cartridges ???? if they ban e cigs im moving out of country
@tv321123 thats what i plan to get, the non nicotine. i tell this to people but they still say it is bad. i ask them why and they cant give me a reason? the only thing moderatly bad with them is the nicotine, but if you have the one with out it, then whats wrong? you can even get them in fun flavors(:
@tv321123 I agree totally , the ecigs are a great smoking sessation device. I use blu cigs and v2 cigs mostly but we have reviewed the top 15 at our site, you can get the link to the site by cliking thru to my channel, good luck
@tv321123 Yeah, I thought it might be really cool to smoke a cigarette with no nicotine or anything else that can hurt you, and puff out a harmless water vapor.
@tv321123 actually, to be honest if they are "afraid " of people getting addicted then why ban e-cigs but STILL leave regular tobacco cigarettes which are WAY more hazardous out in the market? it's just stupid.. it's all for the money think about it, if people stArt smoking e-cigs and realise that it's better and way more healthy and cheaper who the hell is gonna buy tobacco? they don't give a fuck about people only about money..
People need to stay away from alleged give-aways and get informed, so they can buy some good base equipment they can re-use, and not get trapped into a contract whereby the vendor sends them expensive and wasteful single use cartridges. Buyer beware!
Cost is up to the user. Most atomisers are re-usable, the batteries rechargeable. Mixing your own liquid gives you complete control over quality, taste, and nicotine concentration. I buy USP glycerin at a few dollars a liter, flavorings at five dollars a 10 ml dropper bottle, concentrated nicotine in glycerin at about fifty a half liter. I love little bottles with different flavors and nicotine %. A hundred dollars of supplies lasts me 4-6 months. Calculate how much you spend on cigarettes.
WHAT?? if you look of course it's more expensive but E cig allows you to stop smoking whenever and start again later not like the real cig where you have to smoke all the way in the freezing weather... e cig rules!!
It's about lobbyists from the tobacco companies & pharmaceutical companies that manufacture nicotine replacement products. From what I understand, the FDA issued the 'worse than tobacco' statement without any studies whatsoever. My own experience reflects *frankylovesyall's post. Vaping -- not as safe as air, but far safer than tobacco...
@frankylovesyall Exactly. Here in the state of NY, I would have to pay over $8.00 before sales taxes on a pack of Marlboros or Newports. These conspiracy theorists need to do very little research to find out what is in e-juice before making their claims that e-cigs are bad.
CORRECTION!! after the initial outlay e- cigaretts work out to be much, much cheaper than real ones. and anyway screw the money, the real saving is LIVES. geddit? i feel like a million dollars since i quit cigaretts and started using one of these. do yourself a favour and get yourself one NOW!
It's amazing, this top official (really your top official China?) is saying that E-cigarettes will "still get people addicted to nicotine" so they won't help smokers break the habit -- people are already addicted to nicotine when they are smokers F-tard, that is the whole point. In other words are you saying that Nicorrett and Commit, which have nicotine, will not help you quite?
@DreamPharaoh hahahhaha best comment ever. Same with medicine for drug addicts. I don't know, I really like my ecig I dont hurt anyone and it's alot cheaper - I used to spend up to $150/month on regular cigs! (I live in Romania)
The FDA is concerned by the toxins put in e-cigarettes -- are you really FDA? Legitimate companies sell pure liquid now, and inform the consumer how to prepare the atomizer before use. What did the FDA do when they put DuPont glue in cigarettes by law to advert fire hazards (The FSC by the UPC on the product tells you that it has carpet glue). This adds toxins to cigarettes which are somehow, magically, allowed? Look up FSC and see that people are already complaining of health issues
These will saves smokers from dying from smoking related diseases. Instead of trying to ban these the FDA and others should be studying them and making sure smokers know about the alternative available. It is much cheaper than regular cigarettes. At least until the gov starts taxing the shit out of the nic juice.
I have tried to quit at least 15 serious times over the past 8 years, and finally found something that worked. I've been off cigarettes for 6 months and counting, and if they ban this product I'm pretty sure I would continue to buy them on the black market, legality be damned
@Ainznando - Naah, It's not much. I spend about $50 per month, sometimes less than that. Of course it depends on who you do business with, so it helps to shop around for the better deals. - I did not try Zyban. It was replaced with Chantix, which my Dad has been on for 10 weeks now and he still smokes. He doesn't smoke as much though. My doctor doesn't recommend me trying it, because it may increase my hypertension and cripple my diabetic control.
@Ainznando - cold turkey, smokeless tobacco (including the dissolvable tablets), nicotine gum, patches, nicotrol, and even tried to fake myself out with extra imaginable will power. I have never been able to be completely dry from nicotine any longer than 90 days. During that time I have unwanted thoughts which include cheating on my wife and other things I don't want to recall. My mind just goes nuts without nicotine. I am convinced it would be too dangerous for me to quit using nicotine.
@the1observant: Sorry about that, I thought I cancelled before posting. Your phrasing made me think someone was throwing in a ringer just to get e-cig users riled, some wild exaggeration to make nicotine addicts look depraved or whatever. Then I realized it might be a serious post. Which is why I tried to cancel and reply in a more serious tone. One of my smoking brothers is convinced nicotine messes with the neurotransmissions in the brain, and removing it from the mix makes things even worse.
@DROPOUT2001 Yep, I can relate to that. My longest run completely dry from nicotine was 6 months. It gave me a burst of energy from hell, but at the same time it made me feel depressed and lonesome. I was making plans to quit my job and travel across country just to add explorative action to my life. I was going to leave my wife and kids at home and just go walk-about and what not. That's NOT like me and I suddenly realized I was acting crazy. Went back to smoking that day, which was the cure.
@the1observant: Did your mom smoke when you were in the womb, and after? I'm serious. I don't currently have a wife to cheat on, but at 60+ years I find I can barely live without the stuff, and know I was addicted long before birth, and long after, through sidestream smoke, finally through puffing discarded butts and buying packs of my own. Non-smokers have no idea what they're talking about when they advise us to "Well, just quit, already!"
Yeah. Get serious, or leave the discussion, people.
@DROPOUT2001 - Yes, my mom smoked while carrying me and continued to do so after. She also smoked while carrying my sister, and my sister smokes too. But my mom refrained from smoking while carrying my older brother, because he was the first child and my mom wanted a healthy pregnancy... guess what? My brother doesn't smoke at all.
@Ainznando - It just occurred to me you may have wondering about the nicotine strengths of e-liquid. 15mg may sound like alot, but it really isn't. The e-nicotine is refined, filtered, and reprocessed to the point it is nearly 50% weaker compared to raw nicotine. The heater in an e-cig damages it's strength even more. Only about 0.02mg is being offered in a puff. Then the body only absorbs a tiny fraction of that. This is why I had to start at the 24mg strength and begin cutting it down.
@the1observant What about the "throat hit"? I heard it was weaker and takes some getting used to. You're like me; you research the details first. This is good info! And how long will one of these gadgets last before failing?
@Ainznando - The throat hit is weaker with weaker formulas. Some people mix in a little grain alcohol in the VG-based juice to kick up the throat hit. The VG-based formulas give a lesser throat hit than the PG-based. I started out on a PG formula and I couldn't tell the difference in throat hit between smoking and vaping at first. However, it did feel like I had sore throat from a sinus cold the first week. It went away after that. Now I can't tell if there's a throat hit there or not.
@Ainznando - High quality atomizers can last 2 months with me. I can continuously refill a cartridge for 2 weeks before it starts wearing out. A single standard battery starts losing it's charge capacity in about 1 month if you charge it FAST 14 times per day (2 months if slow charge). Cartomizers is a different story... the low quality ones might last 1 week, the better ones usually last 2 or 3 weeks, but all of them are dirt cheap now. A 50ml bottle of juice lasts me about 6 weeks now.
@Ainznando - No problem. Oh, just in case you were wondering... I do detect a better throat hit when using 2.5 ohm atomizers. The cartomizer versions are kind of okay when they are rated in between 2.0 to 3.0 ohms. Anything lower or higher than that is just asking for trouble.
I buy Pure Glycerine at CVS for $4.99 for a 6 oz bottle and flavor it with any McCormick food flavoring extract like Rum or Brandy or Vanilla or Anise (licorice) or lemon etc. Works GREAT!
@MrRichcreator: What are you using for nicotine? I ask because I fear with the media blackout on e-cig health benefits we may soon be building our own vaporizers (as many electronic whiz kids are already doing), and mixing our own niquid. I've used food grade glycerine as a dilution for 36 mg niquid and have no problem with kitchen flavorings, but it's the nicotine extract or tincture (and the measuring thereof) I fear I may have an issue with.
"Don't try to jump on the bandwagon as yet, governments are still with us for a long time to come to keep smokers ignorant about this new stuff", the CEO says.
Sure as Hell not as harmful as regular cigarettes; these emit only flavor, water vapor, and nicotine.
No burning, no 4500 carcinogens to worry about, etc.
This is mostly for people who love to smoke, but can't drop nicotine, so they need the best alternative. This is the best alternative so far other than quitting completely. However, if you want to smoke e-cigs... Well, better than buying a pack of Marlboros.
@yoshiboo5 - Why would you want to do that?... Other than maybe you're trying to quit chewing or dipping tobacco products. If so, then you could try one and see if it satisfies you. What I normally tell people is if you're NOT already addicted to nicotine, then there's really no reason for you to try an e-cig. If you want to inhale fog, then go to a party where a non-toxic fog machine is operating. That's basically what an e-cig is... a miniature fog machine.
@frankylovesyall Yea, 5 months vaping and I can smell & taste better, my body feels better, I have more energy, and I dont wake up coughing, wheezing and hacking.
eciggarettes more expensive? BULLSHIT! I spend $50 a month on ecig accessories & liquid compared to $250-$350 a month on ciggarettes! Plus E-Cigs are practically harmless.....dont believe the media's BS!
I've been heavy vaping 36 ml nicotine for a year now on average most of the day everyday. I've had thorough medical testing twice this year, the second time last month. My vital organ functions and respiratory and cardiovascular systems were all above 100%, as was the blood testing. It could be noted too that I've had Asthma since birth.
@SaxonBrit: Good for you! That's what they should be studying (and it wouldn't be hard): Before and After health exams.
In my case, I couldn't hike up my driveway without stopping to wheeze, now I hike up mountains at 8,000-10,000 ft, at age 61.
The dental expert who cleans my teeth even remarked on the improved health of my gums and better tooth color ("Did you quit coffee?"). Wanted to know what I'd been using. When I told her she took down the information to give to her smoker son.
@sportscardfun: The equipment is not a one time cost, since batts and atties don't last forever (nor carts, but I'm a dripper). Went from cheapo kit to 901s without, then with a pushbutton. Then discovered Janty, thought I'd found heaven. Till ProVape came along. All this over 18 mos, smoke-free. (Key was experimenting till I found a niquid I could love, US made.)
Does this cost? Sure. It's like upgrading your stereo or computer. Does it still beat cigarette prices? Absolutely. No question.
right aroun 0:40 who gives a fuck shouldnt they be concerned abou the peoples health not wether or not they'r addicted to nicotien... what a bullshit exuse -__-
E-cigs are more expensive than regular cigarettes? Are you serious? A carton of cigarettes costs me $45/week. My eGo electronic cig might cost me $45/month, and that's if I'm ordering new e-liquids. Do the math, folks! This report is unsubstantiated BS!
"A top official at China's Center for Disease Control says e-cigarettes will still get people addicted to nicotine, so they won't help smokers break the habit." So... the patch has nicotine in it, too, right? ...and the gum? Not to mention every other system out there designed to help us quit... Just seems like an illegitimate statement, Ms. "Top Official". (team lead janitor maybe?)
@KillerDTV: And to think these wonderful devices were invented in China, a country with one of the world's biggest smoking habits. I actually started out on Chinese niquid (till US Customs started holding up shipments. Nice to know our government's still ahead of China, at least in their efforts to shut down the e-cig phenom which is cutting into tax revenues. I stopped using Chinese products, am now all American...till the FDA gets its way and condemns us all to either cancer or quitter's Hell.
@4really2baked0 Tobacco companies know that ecigs are relatively harmless and way cheaper, and they dont like it, so they have the media lie, and dumb asses believe everything they see on TV.
Ecigs will be banned harmful or not, there are too many petty stasi fuckwits who don't like to see you enjoying something, and don't like to see you've beaten the system and especially don't like that they can't justify sin taxes on them, your health doesn't even factor, now eat your soylent green and shut the fuck up.
@MrFooknuts - They can make it harder for us to get them, but they'll never be able to get rid of them... It's already too late for that. They might as well go ahead and regulate them responsibly. I would agree with an e-liquid tax as long as the revenue goes toward education.
i save 200 a month easy, i have a joye ego. so far its lasted me about 9 months. even if my ego broke every month, ide still come out ahead. plus i feel much healthier.
OK 1st off, you know this is paid propoganda bullshit when they start the vid with a commercial. That alone in itself should be a big sign that someone has paid to put this rediculious disinformation out there. Heres what they didnt tell you : 1) Unless bought from shady vendors, E-cigs are NO WHERE NEARLY as expensive(not even in the same zip code as expensive) when compared to cigarettes. Personally I save about 125 dollars a month now since I switched over. Juice contains food grade products
What a bullshit news story. I'm purchasing blu e-cigarettes soon, and they say what's in their liquid. You know what it is? Water. Glycerin that is found in medicines. ...yeah, that's TOTALLY DANGEROUS! Everything causes cancer, everything is bad for us, but this is way less of a risk than to smoke regular cigarettes.
you know what I think? The proliferation of eliquid vaping will unveil the truth that cigarette addiction is not caused solely by the nicotine but the additives and shit that cigarette's toxins. If it was nicotine, then why nicotine patches don work?
You kick the smoking habit with vaping. so once you vape you quit smoking. I get no cough from vaping contrary to smoking. HATE SMOKING
I just think this is another way for the govt to 'scare' the american people...sure most kits (for 'vaping') range anywhere from 40-200+$ it's up to the person buying the kit to pay for it...we know what we are getting into.
I do agree with the whole 'quality control' issue though. Research your ecig until your blue in the face.
The one I bought cost 59.99 perfect for my pack and a half a day habit. With the smoke juice I save more in the long run!
I can see where this could be bad because of the tobacco, but there isn't tar and other stuff like in real cigarettes, and the doses of tobacco can be lowered so the body adjusts to less and less amounts of tobacco, eventually breaking the habit, and in the long run, it will be cheaper instead of sometimes 3 dollars a day for a pack.
@samdu - correct, it is not tobacco directly. It is quality refined left-handed nicotine extract. However, the base product still has to come from tobacco first before it is processed.
the electronic cigarettes do not have tobacco. tobacco is a plant and that cant be built into some that is electronic it is not a burning substance it is a vapor that can be refilled with even water to smoke but the vapor instead is replaced with nicotine flavoring which gives you that same feeling you have when you smoke a reg cig. also i get 5 cartridges for only $15 and each of those cartridges have up to a pack in them so i get 5 packs for 15 bucks. i pay $9 p pack
I have asthma and when I started using the ecig I ended up in the E.R. with a really bad asthma attack.
The doctor there says that the ecig is NOT why I had such a bad asthma attack and that YES THEY ARE GREAT FOR QUITTING! In fact, she has seen several patients who had used one to quit nicotine entirely, and her husband did too!
The breathing trouble I had passed in a few days and was because I had asthma and had been smoking a pack a day for about 10 years.
They may not be safer (even though there is no second hand smoke) then real cancer causing cigarettes but it is cheaper and with the government tax on cigarettes the U.S. government will lose money. We wouldn't want that now would we. Get you hooked, give a few expensive alternatives that rarely work and keep us from sound alternatives while the FDA continues to market pills only come to find out years later the damage it done to something else in your body. Look to our history people Rebel.
Lol man i smoke e-cigaret Joey510 for almost 5 months , and i spent like 25-30E / month , and when i was smoking normal i was spending 100-120E/month , so it isn't more expensive , and its more healthier........
AND NICOTINE CREATES DEPENDENCY NOT BAD THINGS LIKE CANCER!!!!!
Have been using this 4 months and havent bought a pack since. Checkout blog at FreeTimeCigarette.blogspot.com and Facebook Group. Amazing part is no second hand smoke and no smell.
I guess will never know:) but I do know that I quit smoking real cigs cause of E-Cig:) thank you thank you! you saved my life and I dont smell like an ash try.
jaydrums101 1 week ago

There will always be critics i guess...

on the contrary, this product may actually help break addiction, it actually opens up a window of opportunity for smokers to wean themselves off of nicotine because it can now be down regulated from high, medium or "NO NICOTINE" at all.

But I don't give a fuck what the say, I just try only one E-cigarrete and like it, I stop smoking regular cigarrete(marlboro) right away. This Ecigarrete works, and now I'm consuming nicotine and for some reason I feels better!! hahah Yes u r right, LESS much chemicals!!!!!!!
brujerizmo1000 5 months ago
@brujerizmo1000 You said you're consuming nicotine and you feel better. Less chemicals.
Here's an analogy.
Getting mugged is scary. Someone's probably waving a weapon in your face, threatening to hurt or kill you if you don't hand over your wallet.
Being pick-pocketed... not so scary. You don't even know it's happening until it's over... and even though you feel better (because you don't feel anything at all), the truth is, your wallet has been taken by someone else.
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
Nicotine is bad for you. Tests in mice show that nicotine is more toxic than cocaine. Whereas a 60mg dose of nicotine applied directly to the tongue can kill a person who weighs 160 lbs, a lethal dose of cyanide for the same person is 500mg. The fact that you don't feel the scary effects of the tar and those other chemicals mean that you're still poisoning yourself... but now you're happier about it.
Don't kid yourself.
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
I'm pretty sure Marloboro and Camel is pushing ("excellent pay") to talk shit about the ecigarretes, BUT, why the stupid media don't try a comparations about Ecigarrete VS regular cigarrete? After a research, the media can let the public which one contains less hazards chemicals. Did U think about it before?
brujerizmo1000 5 months ago
Smoking regular cigarettes nowadays is much dirtier in your car or anywhere else as they put a chemical to make it go out if you haven't puffed on it for a while. It sure is alot harder to keep ashes from getting all over your car.The e -cigarette is so much cleaner!
HelenRuth31 5 months ago
8 BUCKS A MONTH VS 16 BUCKS A DAY
barbiesatty 6 months ago
@barbiesatty Do you realize that nicotine is insecticide? Just because you're putting fewer poisons into your body doesn't change the fact that you're still putting poison into your body.
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
@Poisonshady313 You do realize that nicotine is metabolized quickly, right? At the doses found in ecigarettes, it poses about as much danger as caffeine in a cup of coffee. It doesn't buld up. Smoking is so dangerous because of the SMOKE and TAR that does not metabolize. It builds up on your lung tissue and takes years to clear after you quit smoking.
Caffeine is also poison. Too much of it and you will die. As a matter of fact, the side-effects from nicotine and caffeine are identical.
grababrain 3 months ago
@grababrain It's funny you mention that last bit... on the Wikipedia page for caffeine, it has a graphic that lists the various symptoms of caffeine overdose. The Wikipedia page for Nicotine has a similar graphic... but for "nicotine", as opposed to "nicotine overdose".
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
@grababrain
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
@Poisonshady313 The dose makes the poison. Too much water and you'll die, too. And we'll just breifly touch on the fact that chlorine and fluoride (rat poison) are added to your tap water, just to prove that point. Your body needs trace amounts of arsenic, mercury and iodine to function properly but in large amounts, they're highly poisonous.
grababrain 3 months ago

lveroy 6 months ago
@lveroy You can be even happier if you read the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. It's not as well known as it should be, which is a shame, because it works. The book costs between 10 and 15 bucks, takes only a few hours to read, and by the time you're done, you're more than happy to be free from the slavery of nicotine addiction. It's certainly worth a shot. IF it doesn't work, which is unlikely, you can go on with e-cigs.
Poisonshady313 3 months ago
I heard that when nicotine reacts with air it becomes carcinogenic but I'm not sure. Also nicotine is speculated to damage the cell wall linings. So it's probably not as safe as caffeine.
But in terms of safety my guess is: Nicotine patch > Nicotine Gum > E-Cigarette>Cigarette

DISCLAIMER: I sell electronic cigarettes.

Oh yeah, cheaper.
elimi 6 months ago
The electronic cigarettes are amazing. I've been smoking one for 2 days now and all the nic-fits I've had have been quenched by using it. I tried a traditional "analog" cigarette as were apparently calling them; you know just to see, and it kind of taste like paint. The only thing I've heard that is on the downside is that because of the water vapor you can get pneumonia. It is my guess that if you're at risk of getting pneumonia anyway it's probably not a good idea to use it.
elimi 6 months ago
@elimi I don't know where they got that "pneumonia" idea. In the ecig, the nicotine is carried by a propylene glycol (PG) and/or vegetable glycerin (VG) base -- the base for most artificial flavors, too.. The water vapor comes from the air and from your mouth.
In fact, ecigs will dry your mouth and throat, so you have to drink more water when using them.
grendelwok 6 months ago
@grendelwok I don't know either. The manager at a store I service was telling me that. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Maybe somebody came up with something to deal with something cutting into their profit margins. Maybe not. I think somebody somewhere knows that I'm not spending at least 2600 dollars per year on a product they produce.
elimi 6 months ago
I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this as i am not about to check thousands of comments but no one is mentioning the fact that there is a no nicotine cartridge option. hello?!?!?? Also I have never seen anyone smoking these in places where cigs are not allowed i.e. dept stores, food joints or hospitals. Not saying they dont, of course. But when they do does it get annoying if/when they are approached and told to put it out?

ThePupmastermp3 7 months ago

If you're a smoker looking to quit, buy it before they ban it!
itanimullitenretni 11 months ago

frigginjoe 11 months ago
I think the reason they say this is more expensive than cigarettes is because in a lot of countries, cigarettes are still dirt cheap without their government driving the tax on tobacco way up like they do here in the US. I personally switch from smoking to vaping over a year ago and has not touched a regular cigarette since. I don't stink like a ashtray and I feel much better breathing and much better for knowing I am not harming anyone anymore... And yes, here in the US, it's way way cheaper
fridayblues216 11 months ago 4
More expensive?! Does AP even research something before reporting it?
My ecig cost 50$ and I might spend 30$ a MONTH on fluid and cartomizers.
If I dont want to spend that much, I can make my own fluid, WITH OR WITHOUT nicotine, for less.
So 3000$ a year (for cigarettes) is less than 400$?
I treat mine like a reg cig and only use it in designated areas so not to offend. And I don't stink.

FernandRaynaud 1 year ago
Cost is up to the user. Most atomisers are re-usable, the batteries rechargeable. Mixing your own liquid gives you complete control over quality, taste, and nicotine concentration. I buy USP glycerin at a few dollars a liter, flavorings at five dollars a 10 ml dropper bottle, concentrated nicotine in glycerin at about fifty a half liter. I love little bottles with different flavors and nicotine %. A hundred dollars of supplies lasts me 4-6 months. Calculate how much you spend on cigarettes.
FernandRaynaud 1 year ago
WHAT?? if you look of course it's more expensive but E cig allows you to stop smoking whenever and start again later not like the real cig where you have to smoke all the way in the freezing weather... e cig rules!!

Of course they are. Take an economics class or read a few papers and magazines.
These are the best things to come along for dying smokers since penicillin for the clap. In the long run, no way they'll let us get away with this.
I'm that much closer to telling that whole industry to piss off.
DROPOUT2001 1 year ago

DreamPharaoh 1 year ago 2
@DreamPharaoh hahahhaha best comment ever. Same with medicine for drug addicts. I don't know, I really like my ecig I dont hurt anyone and it's alot cheaper - I used to spend up to $150/month on regular cigs! (I live in Romania)
N3v3nka 9 months ago
The FDA is concerned by the toxins put in e-cigarettes -- are you really FDA? Legitimate companies sell pure liquid now, and inform the consumer how to prepare the atomizer before use. What did the FDA do when they put DuPont glue in cigarettes by law to advert fire hazards (The FSC by the UPC on the product tells you that it has carpet glue). This adds toxins to cigarettes which are somehow, magically, allowed? Look up FSC and see that people are already complaining of health issues
DreamPharaoh 1 year ago
These will saves smokers from dying from smoking related diseases. Instead of trying to ban these the FDA and others should be studying them and making sure smokers know about the alternative available. It is much cheaper than regular cigarettes. At least until the gov starts taxing the shit out of the nic juice.

eCigarettes literally changed my life
I have tried to quit at least 15 serious times over the past 8 years, and finally found something that worked. I've been off cigarettes for 6 months and counting, and if they ban this product I'm pretty sure I would continue to buy them on the black market, legality be damned
yushis1 1 year ago
That's sounds like a lot. How much $ does it work out to? You ever tried Zyban etc to try and quit?
Ainznando 1 year ago
@Ainznando - Naah, It's not much. I spend about $50 per month, sometimes less than that. Of course it depends on who you do business with, so it helps to shop around for the better deals. - I did not try Zyban. It was replaced with Chantix, which my Dad has been on for 10 weeks now and he still smokes. He doesn't smoke as much though. My doctor doesn't recommend me trying it, because it may increase my hypertension and cripple my diabetic control.
the1observant 1 year ago
@Ainznando - cold turkey, smokeless tobacco (including the dissolvable tablets), nicotine gum, patches, nicotrol, and even tried to fake myself out with extra imaginable will power. I have never been able to be completely dry from nicotine any longer than 90 days. During that time I have unwanted thoughts which include cheating on my wife and other things I don't want to recall. My mind just goes nuts without nicotine. I am convinced it would be too dangerous for me to quit using nicotine.

@DROPOUT2001 - Troll for whom?... I'll pretend I didn't see that.
the1observant 1 year ago
@the1observant: Sorry about that, I thought I cancelled before posting. Your phrasing made me think someone was throwing in a ringer just to get e-cig users riled, some wild exaggeration to make nicotine addicts look depraved or whatever. Then I realized it might be a serious post. Which is why I tried to cancel and reply in a more serious tone. One of my smoking brothers is convinced nicotine messes with the neurotransmissions in the brain, and removing it from the mix makes things even worse.
DROPOUT2001 1 year ago
@DROPOUT2001 Yep, I can relate to that. My longest run completely dry from nicotine was 6 months. It gave me a burst of energy from hell, but at the same time it made me feel depressed and lonesome. I was making plans to quit my job and travel across country just to add explorative action to my life. I was going to leave my wife and kids at home and just go walk-about and what not. That's NOT like me and I suddenly realized I was acting crazy. Went back to smoking that day, which was the cure.
the1observant 1 year ago
@the1observant: Did your mom smoke when you were in the womb, and after? I'm serious. I don't currently have a wife to cheat on, but at 60+ years I find I can barely live without the stuff, and know I was addicted long before birth, and long after, through sidestream smoke, finally through puffing discarded butts and buying packs of my own. Non-smokers have no idea what they're talking about when they advise us to "Well, just quit, already!"
Yeah. Get serious, or leave the discussion, people.
DROPOUT2001 1 year ago
@DROPOUT2001 - Yes, my mom smoked while carrying me and continued to do so after. She also smoked while carrying my sister, and my sister smokes too. But my mom refrained from smoking while carrying my older brother, because he was the first child and my mom wanted a healthy pregnancy... guess what? My brother doesn't smoke at all.
the1observant 1 year ago
@Ainznando - It just occurred to me you may have wondering about the nicotine strengths of e-liquid. 15mg may sound like alot, but it really isn't. The e-nicotine is refined, filtered, and reprocessed to the point it is nearly 50% weaker compared to raw nicotine. The heater in an e-cig damages it's strength even more. Only about 0.02mg is being offered in a puff. Then the body only absorbs a tiny fraction of that. This is why I had to start at the 24mg strength and begin cutting it down.
the1observant 1 year ago
@the1observant What about the "throat hit"? I heard it was weaker and takes some getting used to. You're like me; you research the details first. This is good info! And how long will one of these gadgets last before failing?
Ainznando 1 year ago
@Ainznando - The throat hit is weaker with weaker formulas. Some people mix in a little grain alcohol in the VG-based juice to kick up the throat hit. The VG-based formulas give a lesser throat hit than the PG-based. I started out on a PG formula and I couldn't tell the difference in throat hit between smoking and vaping at first. However, it did feel like I had sore throat from a sinus cold the first week. It went away after that. Now I can't tell if there's a throat hit there or not.
the1observant 1 year ago
@Ainznando - High quality atomizers can last 2 months with me. I can continuously refill a cartridge for 2 weeks before it starts wearing out. A single standard battery starts losing it's charge capacity in about 1 month if you charge it FAST 14 times per day (2 months if slow charge). Cartomizers is a different story... the low quality ones might last 1 week, the better ones usually last 2 or 3 weeks, but all of them are dirt cheap now. A 50ml bottle of juice lasts me about 6 weeks now.
the1observant 1 year ago
@the1observant Thanks for all the quality info, very enlightening; I'll be trying one soon I suspect. Enjoy your vaping ;)
Ainznando 1 year ago
@Ainznando - No problem. Oh, just in case you were wondering... I do detect a better throat hit when using 2.5 ohm atomizers. The cartomizer versions are kind of okay when they are rated in between 2.0 to 3.0 ohms. Anything lower or higher than that is just asking for trouble.

I buy Pure Glycerine at CVS for $4.99 for a 6 oz bottle and flavor it with any McCormick food flavoring extract like Rum or Brandy or Vanilla or Anise (licorice) or lemon etc. Works GREAT!
MrRichcreator 1 year ago
@MrRichcreator: What are you using for nicotine? I ask because I fear with the media blackout on e-cig health benefits we may soon be building our own vaporizers (as many electronic whiz kids are already doing), and mixing our own niquid. I've used food grade glycerine as a dilution for 36 mg niquid and have no problem with kitchen flavorings, but it's the nicotine extract or tincture (and the measuring thereof) I fear I may have an issue with.

@TomXizor Is it harmful?
yoshiboo5 1 year ago
@yoshiboo5
TomXizor 1 year ago
@yoshiboo5 - Why would you want to do that?... Other than maybe you're trying to quit chewing or dipping tobacco products. If so, then you could try one and see if it satisfies you. What I normally tell people is if you're NOT already addicted to nicotine, then there's really no reason for you to try an e-cig. If you want to inhale fog, then go to a party where a non-toxic fog machine is operating. That's basically what an e-cig is... a miniature fog machine.

you know what I think? The proliferation of eliquid vaping will unveil the truth that cigarette addiction is not caused solely by the nicotine but the additives and shit that cigarette's toxins. If it was nicotine, then why nicotine patches don work?

I just think this is another way for the govt to 'scare' the american people...sure most kits (for 'vaping') range anywhere from 40-200+$ it's up to the person buying the kit to pay for it...we know what we are getting into.
I do agree with the whole 'quality control' issue though. Research your ecig until your blue in the face.
The one I bought cost 59.99 perfect for my pack and a half a day habit. With the smoke juice I save more in the long run!

I think that they are referring to the start-up price, and/or they are only referring to the crappy suppliers that advertise on the radio.
A $70 kit usually only comes with enough fluid to last about as long as a $5 pack of analogs.
I don't think that they realize that a 2 pack a day addiction can be satisfied with about $1-2 a day with ecigs.
tinkledoomhammer 1 year ago
I can see where this could be bad because of the tobacco, but there isn't tar and other stuff like in real cigarettes, and the doses of tobacco can be lowered so the body adjusts to less and less amounts of tobacco, eventually breaking the habit, and in the long run, it will be cheaper instead of sometimes 3 dollars a day for a pack.

the electronic cigarettes do not have tobacco. tobacco is a plant and that cant be built into some that is electronic it is not a burning substance it is a vapor that can be refilled with even water to smoke but the vapor instead is replaced with nicotine flavoring which gives you that same feeling you have when you smoke a reg cig. also i get 5 cartridges for only $15 and each of those cartridges have up to a pack in them so i get 5 packs for 15 bucks. i pay $9 p pack
