The farmer part is very true today. Apparently the feds are demanding that local farmers to grow what they want and not the farmer's wants and planning. It effects send a rippling effect to certain chains. Like today they were out of corn salsa at my local taco place because of the effects of some farmer-distribution-government dispute. Apparently the government stepped in and said "grow less corn and more cotton" to some of the local farmers and nearby state farmers (like Oklahoma).
The unfortunate thing about this cartoon is the ending, where the antagonist pleads for no violence.
The message seems to be that persons advocating disunity ought to be driven out by violence if necessary to maintain the modus operandi of the US. A cartoon about freedom should not so simply advocate this action against freedom of speech and political views, lest it come across of hypocritical.
After all the Founding Fathers had their own version of an ism that upended the old order: democracy.
I think Americans should Vote for Ron Paul, he is the guy who makes the most sense to me and I am not even American, your current president is a real disapointment, he has done hardly anything he is more of a puppet than George Bush was, and how the hell did he win the Nobel Peace Prize what did he do to actually deserve it?
He was unable to attract enough votes to win Republican primaries, so he had no hope of getting that nomination. He had severed ties with the Libertarian party, so they were unlikely to nominate him. And despite his relatively good fundraising abilities, he would have been totally outspent by Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, and Greens had he tried to run.
IndiMusicLover is part of the problem, as well! We have allowed ourselves to become divided, and forget that what we vote for, effects those generations behind us! We, being silent and complacent, have allowed OUR CIVIL RIGHTS to be pissed away! I did not really hear the Democrats complain about The Military Commission Act! I did not hear Republicans rail agaisnt The GIVE ACT! They both screwed us! Now, The Homegrown Terrorist ACT came, and, not a peep! What about the Constitution, huh?
Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. These Palinesque optics will lead them to a major defeat in 2010 and 2012. Life is beautiful.
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
~ Benjamin Franklin
If the American people ever allow the banks to control the issuance of their currency, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property, until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." ~ Thomas Jefferson
You start with one thing being taken away, and no noise in return to the lawmakers about that, and then another mysteriously comes up missing, and then the ball rolls slowly.
NIXON spied on the populace, and broke several Constitutional laws. The Military Commissions Act gave THE PRESIDENT the auuthority to say that you, or I, am a criminal, without Constitutional abides. The Homeland Security Act can name anyone for anything. Any more?
I know we lost a lot during the last eight years: during the Bush administration, we lost our rights to file banrupcy, to have private phone conversations, the right to find a decent paying job, etc. What does that has to do with Communism?
This film shows that an educated, informed citizen would know when they are being "ism'ed"!
How do you equate "bankruptcy" with "freedom", eh? If you go bankrupt, whose money were you spending? Not mine, ya think? If you lose your freedom, you have just become "Jack Shit" in the eyes of your government, and what they can do to you, about you, and with you, and you have NO say in anything!
amazing cartoon

Paul has run for President of the United States twice, first in 1988 as the nominee of the Libertarian Party and again in 2008 as a Republican.
Ron Paul DID however drop out of the race leaving us a rather grim choice.

So he dropped out, why?
seancuk23 2 years ago
Not sure. I suppose I could look it up if I were that interested.
