What the fuck ever you chug the Indians in this area are the worst here making up rules as the company's go along mining. They own all the company's that help big oil company's mine in this area and Big oil has to hire them.
The water is being poisoned naturally as the bitumen is running right out of the river banks into the water. There is nothing here so mine it reclaim it and be gone!!!
God help us all! Those who do not believe the destruction is here, have been brainwashed! Mother Earth will take it's revenge on the none believers....Sooner than you want to see or hear.
its the corrupt governments all over the world and the people with power and influence that are allowing these ever growing companies to destroy the planet.
Of course, the response is always towards making more money. I can only see what is not good. At the end of the day, the denesuline will be left with this mess...whilst the rest of you will be chasing the dollar elsewhere. This is what worries us...we will be left with nothing. I support my aunt Marie and her concerns over the devastation here.
capitalization of words is not as important as you think. i have a university degree in english literature. i do not capitalize words because i do not believe it is a necessary thing to do. proper grammar is not related to intelligence I don't think, I am pretty sure it is related to education.
thank you for the confession. cant take it with you when you go to the grave. easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to make it to heaven.
I'm not confessing, I would tell you no problem, you just didn't ask.
I can't take it to the grave, better spend it while I can.
I'm actually non religious, so when I die, I just cease to exist, no heaven, or hell for me. Just like deleting a video, it does not go to a new website, it stops to exist.
Industry has been displacing indigenous lands ever since money has been used to buy products and what is left behind is waste. Industrial manufacturing must pay the people it effects before setting foot on the land and must pay well. If this is not the case then it's up to the people to stop all that infrindgies on their way of life. All Nations in form or another abides by this rule of tumb and why not the people of Tar Sands Area.
Again, pics of tailings ponds (which are all contained) used to show 'how the water is becoming polluted'.
I wouldn't have been drinking from the lake even before industry existed there... the tarsand has naturally seeped out of the earth for hundreds of years.
Again... the plan is not to leave the strip mines abandoned, but to reclaim the land and restore it to where it was before it was mined.
As a matter of fact, I am working in Fort Mac right now. Have you worked up there?
Have you ever been at a tailings pond? It's not like the water is just pumped directly into the environment... it's contained so that the suspended solids can settle out.
It was noted by early explorers of the area that the tar sand was used by the locals to waterproof their canoes...
If there was no plan to reclaim exposed land, then none of the 'big' oil companies would've been able to get permits...
Their idea of reclaiming the land is covering old tailings ponds with topsoil and planting barley on top. only this year did they plant and trees or shrubs and that was only a few hundred hectares. The tailings ponds are gigantic lakes. As you know lakes bring about the issue of ground water contamination. The area of the oil sands and current tailings ponds will be buried under topsoil but that won't hide the chemicals, compounds, and general contamination done to the ground and ground water.
And I've worked for Suncor, Nexxen, Syncrude, StatOil Hydro, and Conoco Phillips. I don't need to do research like you I learn from life experience and those facts are never wrong.

Thanks for confirming what most Albertans suspect. Our conservative government does not care about our water. Let them drink "oil"!

When is the Alberta going to care about our water and implement the "Water for Life" propaganda lip service.

Close the tar sands!
Are you mad!?
You know how much oil is there?
And how many people rely on it for work.
If you don't like oil, get out of Fort McMurray.

The Earth (It's a name dumb ass, capital letter!) is what gives us petroleum.

you don't like the earth if you are willing to allow it to be destroyed for oil.
