  • @carlosreyes11 ..wouldnt go as far as to say "very"....but its a start,

but very polite of you to say so...

  • can u do this with other things instead of lightsabers

  • @MsLOLTime Yeah any other laser related things like for instance a laser gun :)

  • @carlosreyes11 o ok thank s very good video very understandable and easy :)

  • best tut eveeeeeer

  • @HOMEnHIGH Thanks

  • hey carlos. where did you get the intro from? its pretty cool.

  • @BlueTideTutorials It is in the credits at the end of the video :)

  • @carlosreyes11 oh, thanks :)

  • Thanks. Nice Video.

  • @pedrosimpson97 Cheers

  • You look a lot like my old English teacher. Nice vid.

  • @jjjmanyo lol

  • como eu baxo a versão pro

  • Hey For Some reason i dont got the position Thingy but i know i got it somewhere

  • @hjasduiser Maybe see my video in HD and full screen to pick exactly where it is ;)

  • It's a bit easier if you use negative mode and just mask over the original.

  • thanks carlos, this helped me alot with the masking issues i was haveing. is there a way to animate the mask? as in have it move frame to frame?

  • @NIZDISDIK Every time that you move the mask in the time line automatically will create a new key frame :)

  • @NIZDISDIK ah...i see. very very helpful. thanks again carlos!

  • will it work for sony vegas pro 10?

  • @kapowier : I do not have Vegas pro 10 but I would think that it would :)

  • @carlosreyes11 thx i tryed it and it did

  • when i try to move the points, they can only move to the sides!! help me!!!

  • @1995davidson You need to select the arrow in the menu tool of the right and then right click in one of the mask vertex and select "deselect" and then chose "all", so now you can move the vertex individually . Next is to move the time line below to a position where the mask lost the stick/lightsaber, then rearrange the vertex to cover it again (this will create a keyframe) and so on :)

  • @1995davidson try using normal edit toool

  • how to moe the stick?

  • @RapBeatsPro If you move the stick then you have to reposition the mask that covers it too by

right click and select deselect path and dragging see in of the comments below for the detailed instructions

:) You might have to do this frame by frame if you move it often and fast. Tedious but the only way of doing it in Vegas ;)

  • but how about fast moving stick??

  • @dragonslayerrolith In the fast move parts then you will to mask the stick frame by frame. It is tedious work unfortunately if you have a long and fast pace lightsaber fight

  • Dude your a man with a toy?

  • @TVLiveMusic : lol It looks as a light sabre in a video after the effect is applied and it is better than using a stick to demonstrate in a close up as you can see the part below the laser ;D

  • you really helped me out dude thanks a lot :D

  • how to make in move one

  • @EricJr007 Can you elaborate a bit more your question?

  • @carlosreyes11 ...ok...i mean moving sword...like u wan to kill somebody or smthing like that....how to make it..

  • @EricJr007 You need to do all the moves that you want to do in your video clip and then when editing , you has to mask the toy every time it moves as I explain in he tutorial. It is tedious process but the only way to do it in Vegas Pro 9.

  • @carlosreyes11 So this won't work in Sony Vegas Pro 10? Well it doesnt matter I used a keygen to get both.

  • @LavaLoom It should work in Vegas Pro 10 (I do not have that version) and for sure in Vegas 9 Pro in any program that you can do masking. Vegas Studio or Platinum can not do "masking"

  • @carlosreyes11 You should get it. I have vegas pro 10 and pro 9. one word for you buddy...keygen.

  • @LavaLoom one word buddy... virus.

  • @ShadowFita I don't have a virus, you have to get the right one others are scams...

  • i just use my real lightsaber...

  • you sound like you're about to die but nice tutorial

  • When i try to adjust the x/y values for gaussian blur, there are no changes made to my lightsaber....

so right now all i have is the combined visual from my generated media (the two solid colors)

    what am i doing wrong??

  • @jeffinator12345 : I can not tell with only that information Did you mask your model of lightsaber one colour and copied and changed the colour? If yes then remember the sequence of the FX plugins:

    White: only Gaussian

    Green: Gaussian plus glow

    Film

  • I don't have the masking tool..........

  • @fritzdcat7 :OH you probably has Vegas Platinum or Studio. Vegas Pro is the one with the masking tool and this tool is very important for this tutorial unfortunately

  • @carlosreyes11 Ya i know. I'd rather have pro but isn't it like a 100 bucks? Great tutorial, though. :)

  • @carlosreyes11 I subbed. :)

  • this is a good vid but can you please tell us how to add in the audio effects and lightsaber sounds. cheers : )

  • @pacmanpirini : At the end of this video , in the credits , you can locate where to download the sound file. Once you have the file then import it to your Vegas project, create a new audio track and locate the lightsaber sound at the proper time line :)

  • Thank you so much !

i like the way you explained the tutorial

    Nice accent ! : )

  • @Now842 : You are very welcome :)

  • Thank you very much!

I liked the video an the way you explained the tutorial

    Nice accent! :)

  • awesome!! thanks! best tutorial yet! you are quite good at this stuff!

  • @ComputerScreenTv :Thanks for the sub :)

  • when i am doing the masking... it doesn't let me move each side of the rectangle much... just horizontal and i can't figure this out.. any tips?

  • @ComputerScreenTv : Go to the mask

right click and select deselect path

    ---loop----

1)click now on one of the vertex and should turn yellow while the others no

    2) now you can drag that vertex

go to step 1 with another vertex and after you have matched all the vertexes with your object in the video then move the frame time line (next to position and mask option) and move the video forward until the mask is not matching the object anymore so go to loop a and repeat the process

  • @carlosreyes11 you are a life saver man! thanks so much i will subscribe and follow and like !! thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @myvideosarereal2 : Thanks :)

  • Thanks! :D Youre voice is so cool!!! :D

  • @r0ckandrollTV : Really? lol

  • @MultiNaton : Let me know if you have problems following the tutorial later . It is my first one and I know it could have been better ;) Happy to do another one if you ask me for specific topic :)

  • Lol Carlos, you stole the caperucita roja costume of your daughter and used it for this video.

Great tutorial. I will definitely give this a try. You´re the obi wan kenobi of the do-it-yourself philosophy.

  • @Sphereal : HaHa. Happy to clarify any point that was not very comprehensibly explained in this tutorial and also keen to do another one if you give me specific topic that I can make with Vegas Pro. The ones in After effect are normally long to explain as you can do more to achieve something besides I am not very experienced using this software yet as I only go when I can not do something with Vegas ;)

  • great tutorial Carlos. too bad i don't have Vegas though :-D. but, recently having bought a little green cloth as a greenscreen, i will upgrade my video editor too (Pinnacle \studio). i will see what i can do with that too :-D you're doing really good with this and i hope to see loads more.

    Greets. Ronald

  • @wildcatphotography : Cool Ronald! My first special effect that I made was cloning and then I build a home made small green screen in my living room and made a series of videos using it ;) There are several programs to do Chroma key , inclusive free ones (I used Vegas thou). The key to do it right is to have the green screen with proper light (I used to do mine in the afternoons last summer and beginning of fall) as I do not have special lights :)

  • Cool ;D

  • @GamingSponge : Thanks! I appreciate the positive feedback :)

  • Nice mate :)

  • @ThierrySold : Thanks mate :)
