This was agony to watch. I have Post-Traumatic-Stress from reliving at least 20-cars I owned in the 80's, just watching this. Guys...seriously...it's called a 'c.a.r...t.r.a.i.l.e.r.'...master the possibilities. Nothing like getting home on time, not damaging the antique in the process, being under the cold AC while having others oogle you towing that 'gonna-be-sweet' resto...
Landry soap to clean a plugged rad? I used drain cleaner to clean a plugged rad in my 1966 Fiat 850 coupe that I drove from California to Maine. Now that was a trip I wouldn't want to repeat any time soon and yes I'm still driving the Fiat after owning it for 30 yrs.
G'day guys a job well done, I picked up a copy of the mag yesterday & read the article so I thought I'd check out the vids & I'm impressed that the old school mentallity of fix it & drive it is still alive.
Iv'e done this sort of thing a few times in my life time & like I say to my kids, half the fun is the journey to getting there..
Love this story. Road trips like this one and the Crusher Camaro are awesome. Reminds me of when I drove my Wife's 67 Mustang 300 miles the day I bought it and all the little problems it had. Not as many as you guys, I did it in six hours since it was an anniversary present, so it had to be "under the radar".
I bought a 69 Lemans 2dr that sat in a barn for about 10 years. It was 40 miles from home and i didnt have a way to haul it, so i decided to get it going and drive it home. The brakes pumped up, trans worked( minus reverse), coil was bad. The only prob i had was overheating. It was an awesome experience driving that 50$ car home all covered in dust! I could'nt believe that it made it. It had duals with glasspack mufflers rusted out, and it sounded pretty cool, lucky i did'nt meet any police!
Ok you guys, the suspense is killing me. I thought there was a "we got kicked out of a trailer park" story? WTF? I love the wisk thing and the goggles!
awesum video. When I saw your facebook post I thought "Wisk, the laundry soap, no way!" now I see it, and holy crap LOL. great story makes me want to try it, looks like a great adventure. I LOL'd when I saw your goggles in preperation for the impending rain. hahahaha, you guys rock.
Yup, never boring. Restored, rigged then fixed. What are the plans for this, besides sitting in the shop? Refine, resto-mod then drive? Maybe sit in Freiburger's stable with the rest of his collection?
7:26 dammit thats the international i need to finish MY international!

I wonder what kind of fuel mileage the old bird got? A lot of those old Buicks weren't too bad on fuel.

At 4:44 did they take the car to a mechanic or something? Because they would have shown the dangerous stuff anyway.
