  • Hemp can do all of that shit. Lawyered.

  • What about nuclear power?

  • @WasnLag Hahaha no.

  • @thanatos255 ... Go die and in idk let's just say ten years you become a pit of tar 1000 years later you'll be petroleum and if something dies everyday since thousands of yes ago yes petroleum is produced everyday

  • youre forgetting things like wave energy. there are a crap tone of ways to harness electricity. hydromills are a possibility, windmill harnessing ocean currents. bottomline is that there is so much unharnessed energy, we have nothing to worry about. the only problem is getting of oil and having money invested in this stuff.

  • Wings there are three ways to make ethanol: synthesis, fermentation and from biomass. the first 2 methods aren't the best, synthesis uses oil and fermentation can only get upto 15% otherwise the enzymes will die from poisoning, however you can distill it to get 90-95% ethanol, but that would increase the price. creating it from biomass is incredibly effective, you use genetically engineered ecoli to break down biomass and create around 95% ethanol from waste, I just thought Id let you know :)

  • The law of conservation of mass.. it can neither be created or destroyed. i'm sure one day we'll come up with some way to isolate all the elements required for plastics and other things made from petroleum, and combine them back together. the knowledge that we gain every year is increasing exponentially, i'm sure we can come up with something.

  • wingsofredemption = philosopher?

  • solar , wind, biomass, hydroelectricity , geothermal

    all renewable energy resources

  • solar , wind, biomass, hydroelectricity , geothermal

    all renewable energy ressources

  • @4:27 After Wings says our quality of lives will PLUMMET a guy on the game chats shouts Oh My God.

  • It's ironic how in the 1800s there was so much that oil companies couldn't sell all of it, and now oil is incredibally expensive.

  • The problem is all our stuff is made of oil petroleam close your eyes spin through the room the en stop I will bet you 1 trillion dollars that you see oil in your view in the form of plastic

We got energy just about down now we need to stop being dependent on petroleom and plastic

  • Wings you're being a typical Doomsday Peak Oil Activist.

There is no way Peak Oil will kill us. You're forgetting that people are greedy - and surprisingly greed is going to save us. When prices go up enough and people aren't making profits we're going to switch to another energy source. There is no way we will use up all our oil and be like "Shit what now?!"

You can see it happening now. Cars are all about the MPG they get - not to save the environment, because that's what sells.

  • whats about plutonium?

  • @Charger2127 Watch part 2

  • For everyone who like this.

Write: The most important video you will ever see

on youtube. Have a nice day!

  • you forgot about nuclear, we have enough uranium from our nuclear bombs that we can use nuclear power for another 200 years

  • @ThreeDoorsNorth Nuclear bombs are pretty small.

  • @SuperTimeStretch Do you not realize the power they contain?

  • good video but you all do understand that there is more oil in the coast of the united states than they have in all of the middle east. we have all these resources and because of the idiot tree hugging queers we cant get to it because i would hurt the environment and make oil spills. so now oil companys are forced to drill in deep waters thats why oil spills happen because its hard to plug a hole that is 3/4 of a mile under water

  • ever heard of the three forks bakken in North Dakota. It is one of the largest reserves of oil in the US. move to the area and you can make $15/hr at a taco johns. Oil drives this country, not solar panels or wind energy. as of today, we are more dependent on oil than almost anything else

  • bro hdtvs dont have tubes.

  • their is no source that can replace oil by itself but their are plenty of energy sources that when combine can easily replace it. Studies of algae that can produce diesel, solar, wind, ocean current and tide, nuclear, geothermal, natural gas ect. their is even a university using that has a small robot that can use the energy from digesting bugs. We just need to invest more on other types of energy not just the ones that big companies can sell like natural gas or ethanol

  • my gamer tag is Satan The Hero, and twice tonight christian retards got legit pissed at me. they started cursing and shit and then finally got there group together and backed out.

  • @Guns0fHonor ocean levels are not affected by the atmosphere around it

  • people pleeease dont be a grammar nazi

  • Solar power is created by the earth? Really?

  • hydroelectricity is the most efficent way to get power. stick a turbin in the ocean were there are currents and you will have equal to or more power than you would with oil or gas or coal.

  • if everyone transitioned to using solar or wind energy im sure we could successfully live at the same rate that we are now. not everyone mines coal or pumps out oil. although we could all install solar panels on our roofs. My friend's house runs off of solar power, and the electrical company pays him because he's supplying them with the excess energy he's making. If we placed that excess energy into our cars, and just transitioned to using electical vehicles, we could do just as well if not betr

  • You forget about thermal and helium 3.

  • Water*

  • that ak47 looks fucking delicious

  • We'll get another person like Einstein to make salt water into the 'new' oil, or something.. lol. If the world dies after I'm dead then I don't really care. :\

  • Your very retarted. Technology cannot destroy this planet and we most certaintly can survive without. Why don't you stop making dumb commentaries and go to school you worthless fat-ass

  • @airmax600 technology can't destroy the planet... REALLY!? How bout you stop being an ignorant prick and telling him to go to school and actually learn something yourself? Your saying that if eventually in the future there is so much technology, that simply the amount of gases within the atmosphere could completely rid the planet of all life... not to mention acid rain, depleting oil deposits and moral issues. Learn something before you bag someone out for something you don't know shit about.

  • @airmax600 LOL your comment is so ironic

  • @airmax600 In your own words, 'your retarted'. Learn to spell.

  • @airmax600 I would like to see you last a week without technology. You want to go somewhere? You walk. You want to stay up late? No, no you don't turn on your lights, you light fucking candles. Your idiocy represents the worst of the ignorant in this generation. Technology cannot destroy the planet? Ever heard of the nuclear bomb? That was developed DECADES ago, imagine what they'll come up with 30, 40 years later. Take your own advice and go to school, idiot.

  • @airmax600 "Your very retarted". Its you're very retarded. "certaintly" Its certainly. Before you call someone retarded sort out your grammar, Youtube even has a spell check for Christs sake. God I swear we are doomed with the youth we have today!

  • @gutterdocmd It's.*

    L2Grammar.

  • and while were at it why dont we fly unicorn and say yes we can

  • FACT-the US has enough oil, still under ground, to sustain its self for well over 500 years at its current rate of use. But your shit government and money hungry whores refuse to use it.

  • @higingbotham the US doesn't produce any oil, or practicaly none at least, they import 90-85% of it.

  • @guichartrand

8 million barrels in 2003. 9 Million last year. We were the 3rd highest producer. But the #1 user and importer. I, literally, do this for a living. I work for the largest oil field technology company in the world. The second place company is literally half of what we are.

  • @higingbotham no we don't lol, just because you said fact in front of your statement doesn't make it true

  • @rawrCHICKENz

Yeah, we do moron. Do a little research. You could start with JUST Alaska. This country is currently the 3rd highest producer. It amazes me that morons like you assume that something isn't accurate simply because you never heard it in 9th grade.

  • @higingbotham If you did your research you would know that in 1970 the US produced 3,517,450,000 barrels. In 2010 (the last data available from the eia(d0t) gov) we were ALL the way down to 2,011,855,000. And we import 51% we use now. People like you are the reason we will not succeed in finding an alternative. Teapartiers screaming for lower taxes when taxes are at historic lows and screaming for smaller govt means no way, no how, we will run out EVEN with your mythical Alaska oil.

  • @iateyourham

Perhaps you should try that "research" thing again. "People like me" have nothing to do with your alternatives. "People like me" (I) work in the oil field technology industry. My company spent a billion dollars last year in research for a cleaner oil field and research for alternatives. What did you do? Your government is too money hungry to really care about alternatives. You want to bitch about prices, look here... gaspricewatch {dot com} slash usgastaxes dot asp

  • @iateyourham

    PS...

Your government pays companies to "sit" on wells instead of producing them. That laptop your using, a lot of petroleum based things in it. That plastic cup and fork? That cell phone? Hell, the toilet you use has pieces made from OIL. Manufacturers wont change it until they are forced. And our politicians wont force them until OPEC and foreign governments stop lining their pockets. It is a corrupt, shit world we live in and a lot of fu(kers are to blame.

  • Such a mass infusion of inaccurate statements. We are NO where near "using up all the oil". They have over 30 fields in Anwar alone that contain 500 million barrels or more. That is over 15,000,000,000 barrels. In just 30 of the hundreds of individual fields.

  • Because people are dumb. We're burning up finite reserves of natural gas and oil while we could be using unlimited reserves of running water, wind, and sun.

  • Lol some random guy 4:31 "O MY GOD"

  • @TheOrangeAlex lol thanks anytime man

  • Quality of life is good for the majority of people. Some have it worse than the past, which really really bothers me. Enough to do something about it? I don't feel I can. I've been on a mission before, so whatev.

  • Oil isn't nearly #1. Have you heard of this magical liquid called water? Most used substance on the planet.

  • @pi3dr Used means to do something with something that will not be able to be "reused" (deceiving name). Oil is used for gas, etc, it's burnt up, then it's gone. Now what? It's USED up. Technically oil is the most USED.

  • @pi3dr Another thing, the magical liquid you call water, where do you drink that from. Water bottles made of plastic. A lot of everyday things are made of plastic. What's made of water? Water. And other drinks. Some of the clothes you wear are made of plastics, made with oil. The only useful lubrication is oil. There's oil in your body. Oil in your food. Oil in almost everything. You have no clue what you're talking about. Just step off and stop hating.

  • what's with all the philosophical and scientifically inaccurate chat over a call of duty video... most retarded thing I've ever come across.

  • we technically dont need petroleum for vehicles except for shipment but for people who communte a mile to their job common that is wasting oil. People need to ride bikes again

  • Damn straight about the ethanol. Al Gore admits it even.

  • We will probably go extinct in i saw 3 mil years!

    Just cuz of the conditions.

But thinking of what you said about us improving makes me think we will go on forever!

I learned today that maybe we will be extinct since everything goes extinct sometime, but we are different.

  • Its great that you are thinking about these things Wings. There is alot more on this topic that you should open your eyes to. If you want to know all the answers then watch the best documentary ever made... /watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w

It will be the best thing you will ever watch.

  • Forks

  • wtf i was actually driking a coke

  • what about nuclear?

  • @CK9041 haha you are so right

  • Honestly, i hope that our world comes to what happened in dead space. Not a violent alien virus or some massive gloabalized cult, but planet cracking for resources. Maybe not in 25 years but 75 or 100. Who knows. solar energy is better. Its just that humans are unwilling to change. thats the actual problem.

  • @warriorprince1010

Umm... God kinda doesn't exist... Dumb religious fuck.

  • @CK9041

    Keep up the respect, man!

  • @CK9041 um yea god does exist, how do u think we gotta here and how do u think we stay here, bcuz of god.

  • @JTH2515 lol un educated specimen

  • @JTH2515 Lawl.

  • @JTH2515 you sure? You sound so sure of yourself, you must have been there.

  • @BuddhaBeatz25 no but ive read gods word, and i believe what he tells me.

  • Hydrogen.

  • Guys take paper over plastic bags next time you go shopping! I just did a speech on this topic!

  • i know you will probably never read this but cannabis is the rescorce of the future, it can produce 4x the oxygen of any other plant, its THC molecules can be used to make bio-degradable plastics and fuel and can also make clothing along with its countless medical and medicianal qualitties. The goverment refuses to use this resorce because it cannot be taxed because its can be grown from home and in almost any climate they would rather kill us all :(

  • Oil is in my Xbox? Anyway I can upgrade to a diesel?

  • Daniel Tosh say "My SUV doesn't run off corn, Ethanol is a dream and a dumb one!" wise words from Mr. Tosh.0

  • i doubt it

  • Hydrogen fuel cells could be a direct replacement to power small electric devices, even cars and machinery. using only water as the input and the by product is only water also.

Nuclear Fusion reactions, if we can harness the technology, will provide more energy than we can possibly imagine.

  • @youmadbrah 1 i dont get why u got thumbs up, just because you're telling people you are a nuclear energy major.

its a fake as it can be.

  • I think that we need a way to recycle the petroleum that is in everything so that it doesn't go into a land fill

  • wings you do realize that hydroelectric is the most used and supplies us the most energy by far

  • First, plastics can be made with man made materials now, so petroleum based plastic is less necessary. Second, plastic is recyclable, hence the recycling programs around the world. Third, hydro power can make far more electricity, but takes more overall cost to initialize the damming process. With a mix of wind, hydro, and current methods electricity is infinitely more sustainable.

  • @youmadbrah1 Example.

  • /watch?v=8mEjD7BVL0s

COD for CHARITY. pleeeeaseeeee help me out wings?

  • @youmadbrah1 im sure you are....NOT ahahahahaha

  • You are right Wings. I have a lot of respect, because most people don't even know ethanol is a net energy loss. They are making energy that is losing more then usable. And nuclear power is bullshi*, because it will run out one day. It is powered by uranium and therefore will run out. Also, it can prove to be unsafe. For a future energy source, this may be it. Search methane hydrate. Probably our best bet. PEACE

  • @IamJamieeee Are you kidding? Nuclear is powered by uranium, and the reaction is a fussion. It is not fission, where the atoms are not fired at each other but pulled apart. That's unlimited fuel.

  • @youmadbrah1 you'r English didn't make any sense...

  • paused video 15 seconds in .... we survive by eating and sleeping

  • @youmadbrah1 im pretty sure to be a "nuclear major" you'd at least need proper grammar.

  • Natural gas cannot run out because its constantly produced, here in alaska it makes huge bubbles in frozen swamps if u chop the bubble and light it, it makes a huge spray of fire, but the gas is being produced from decaying swamp

  • @Guns0fHonor the thing is we live in a world were enough is never enough, and the drought would not affect tidal powers being harnessed. It is true that some countries will not be able to harness this potential but we must move past that and do what we must to fulfill our energy requests.

  • You dont need to grow the ethanol.

    Hydration of Ethene Motherfucker!

  • stick to call of duty talk wings.. half of your audience doesent even now what the fuck ur talking bout;D

  • "Machines are gonna fail and the system's gonna fail...then, survival. Who has the ability to survive? That's the game - survive."

  • We can't destroy Earth. We can blast ourselves to Hell, and Mother Earth will still be here. Give her a few billion years, and good as new. The only true death for Earth is when our Sun decides to give up the ghost. :D

  • @trinityzaku wow you are ignorant. We can't run out of water. You ever heard of a little something called the law of the conservation of mass?

  • we can run out of carbon fuel but its not destoryed its put in te atmosphere and over millions of yrs it gets back in the ground. were just harvesting oil at a rate that is to fast for the earth to keep up with.

  • Don't forget nuclear. It works. Well.

  • They have new power supplies that use the wind that a breeze 5 or 10 mile an hour will get them to work and they are small enough that they can easy sit on your house and they are god awful looking. Jay Leno uses them to power the all the lights ac etc in his car garage which is rather extensive. A resource far more important than oil can ever be is water and we are running out.

  • also if you use wind theirs a problem because the wind turbines are basicly blocking the wind or turning it a dif direction wich is changing a lot of stuff. birds and other animals follow the wind. plants also follow the wind, almost everything follows the wind and it we mess with the natural currents of wind. well then we turn almost everything on its head

  • Have you ever seen a graph of human population? It's parabolic. Do you know what happens in nature, stock markets, when things go up parabolic? It's followed by an equally steep parabolic drop. You can deny it and stick your head in the sand and say all we need is natural gas, or nuclear fuel ( both of which will run out just like oil) but that's not gonna change the facts.

  • every time wings uses a gun in a video i always wanna hop on and use the same thing. Newest class: Warlord AK with Triangle Sight and Dual mags

  • All of the practical things you said that have oil in them like plastic etc could easily be replaced by HEMP.

  • only 2 alternatives to oil and you come up with wind and solar?? You're an idiot. We have a HUGE abundance of natural gas in the U.S. The problem is the government is slow or won't change the country's infrastructure for energy. It will eventually have to be done with NATURAL GAS, where we won't be foreign dependent. Boone Pickens (ever heard of him, wings? Probably not...) has a lot (not all) of answers to our nations energy problem.

  • @DinkaFlicka24 So maybe Wings might be wrong in some of his commentary. You don't have to flame him for it, maybe he read from a bad source, heard something wrong, etc. If you wanna tell him something like that, tell him nicely.

  • Watch MW3 CONFIRMED WEAPONS BELOW! IM NOT SHITTING ON YOU!

    ;-)

    /watch?v=RliUIBmULMI

  • France runs almost exclusivley on nuclear power, and produces little to no waste.

  • The U.S. just needs to switch to 100% nuclear power Problem = Solved

  • @youmadbrah1 Really? That seems like a difficult major. BTW how was he wrong? I don't know anything about that stuff

  • Hydrogen is the future of fuel, i dont know about everything else. My best bet is Carbon.

  • @youmadbrah1 what do you know? your probly some 10 year old kid

  • Hydrogen is the future.

  • My little brother said about this the other day (I'm guessing it has to do with the fact he takes biology...?) about how carrying capacity is just so large...

  • Solar and wind power are inferior now, but they are constantly being improved, and their efficiency will eventually overcome their cost.

  • Nature is not stupid. It works itself out eventually. While we consume all the earth's resources it is going to end in a huge Die Off of the humans. Those left over aren't going to have ps3s and other luxuries. I honestly don't hold out hope that we can come together to solve this problem. Look at the political sh1t that pops up if you even mention that we might be running out of oil or that the truth is that nuclear fuel is not infinite.

  • cool discussion

  • LOL did you watch the movie "Collapse" It scared me too. BTW we're going to run out of seafood in 40 years. Oil will follow after that.

  • wings mentioned that we needed meat but in all sci fi movies they say aliens have found the advantage of a vegetarian diet but he said we need meat someone plz answer this im curious

  • @IamJamieeee nuclear is not a feasible source on energy for our civilization

there is simply not enough of the isotopes of uranium and other radioactive elements to power enough nuclear reactors to replace all our coal and oil plants for more than 50 or so years

nuclear fusion is where its at

but a fusion reactor that gives a net output of energy has still to be built

  • Wow we just talked about this in class today.

  • @IamJamieeee true but there is only so much uranium 235 in the world.

  • We are not close to running out of oil - we are just trying to get all of the ME and then we have Alaska and the Russian/Siberian region. The reason oil prices are high is the private market.

  • There are so many people spewing environment related bullshit on here. Saying that we have enough oil left for 10,000 years is the most ridiculous claim i have ever heard. We've only been using it in high quantities for a few hundred years and oil reserves are already running dry. Fucking morons.

  • One of the most expensive pprjects is possible making anti-matter....collide with normal matter and you get pure energy one teaspoon of it can power California for a week but its trillions of dollars

  • environmentalists are idiots. yes i do want to cut pollution and all, but we have enough oil to last another ten thousand years before we run out.

  • Im aiming to be a chemical engineer

  • more people survive car accidents because there werent any in the past...lets use our brains here boys

  • @IamJamieeee yea the key word is radioactive. that shit could kill so many people if that was the main resource

  • i do understand the need for a renewable energy source but everyone says that we will run out of oil tomorrow

the estimated time for when we run out of oil is close to about 10,000 years give or take a couple of hundred of years.

yes it is a possibly that we can run out but we dont have to worry about that yet. and wings you are wrong about solar and wind energy because 1 wind farm can power, new york for 20 years. and 3 solar panels can power a house for 1 day

  • @THExMADxHATT3R two things, the number 10,000 is absolutely ridiculous for the amount of years our current oil supplies will last, secondly, just because we have awhile until our oil reserves run out, does that mean we shouldnt worry about that yet? is that how you treat life? just hand off your problems to future generations? way to care for your fellow humans bro

  • @IamJamieeee just learned that in chem

  • Most likely Wings at the rate of research for the most likely source of energy is about 50 years away from now, nuclear fusion. Imagine an artificial sun, powering the whole world. The only problem truly is that we can't figure out how to capture the energy by colliding simple atoms to make energy. However, a more recent test of nuclear fusion in the last 5 years produced, for a while, 10 times more energy then need to power the machine. Equivalent to power the whole united states for awhile

  • Dude, get a science degree, you'll see how many energy sources are really out there that oil companies don't want you to know about.

  • @IamJamieeee and sometimes explodes >:)

  • "it's in your Xbox,".suddenly the oil crisis actually matters to me.

  • Wings, I feel you. I have thought about this topic plenty of times in my life. I have noticed that if we were to find a way to cure problem diseases and infections like cancer or AIDS and that if we were to find a way to maintain world peace. What would be left to kill us off. Nothing. We will overpopulate ourselves first. Then we will run out the resource that has powered us for 100 years. Oil. Then with many nations desperate, wars would ensue. It will get worse, before it gets better.

  • Comment removed

  • There is enough oil in Alaska to get gas prices down to 65 cents a gallon in the U.S. bro.

  • @IamJamieeee nuclear is a good energy source but it takes alot of oil and money to make a nuclear plant and to enrich the uranium or any other element takes alot of time. So it is a good alternate but it will take a while and by then we might already be screwed

  • @kparker798 First off i never said oil is our only energy source. I said it is the only fuel source capable of sustaining a world economy. You act like you know everything. I am a physics major even I know for a fact 50% of electricity is lost in the wiring. The only way its not 50% is when we use higher quality wires or superconductors which the cheapest way for it to work is to be chilled by liquid nitrogen. why don't you open a book about both sides of the argument before starting shit.

  • @Willsturd You keep saying 50% is lost, but you are so horribly wrong. There is only 10 - 15% loss due to wire resistance and thermal energy being expelled. I don't know where you got this 50% number but you are so wrong. You would also think that a physics major would know that to make a superconductor you need to chill the wire to absolute zero, -273ºC which is physically impossible even in a controlled lab and certainly not by liquid nitrogen which is in liquid state at -210ºC to -196ºC

  • watch zeitgeist:moving forward. soution right there. our freedoms come at a cost to other people in the world.

  • what bout nuclear or hydropower

  • you kill more people by burning corn - JUST EAT IT DUMBASSES

    did i spell that right?

  • wings please get your facts strait, we have way over 20 years more of available food

  • Wingsofredemption the insightful gamer

  • @IamJamieeee stop trying to feel smart

  • i'd love to have a discussion with you wings, not because ur wings of redemption but because of your views i don't think u have all facts straight but facts are made up by humans so nothing is fact only what we think is fact. we think we know all but we dont. Humans need to stop living so unnatural. all living beings live in harmony with nature we don;t and we are focking ourselfs over. Humans are the smartest and dumbest species at the same time. We are to smart for our own good.

  • @Erniieduud well if humans are doing what they are doing then it must be natural right? other wise what humans are doing wouldn't be the norm... ya know?

  • @fightnight217 yeah man that is true, but if you look around to other species they dont live like us so you could look at humans as a very persistant fault of nature. nature needs us to die off but we are like a cancer on this earth and just wont leave. eventually something will happen

  • @Erniieduud its kinda cynical, but very true. we are a self destructive species but with out that self destructiveness i.e. war our population would be fucking huge. what separates us from animals is our cerebral cortex and out higher level of conscious thinking, however that has gotton us in trouble more times than we can count.

  • @fightnight217 that is true, but that is why we are to smart we make things into weapons if we weren;t able to do that we would not be on top of the foodchain and there would not be overpopulation. the only reason we have overpopulation is because we don't think on instinct anymore, we do not leave the weak behind. we help them and keep them alive as long as possible. because we act out of emotion we don't think rational.

  • @Erniieduud This is a pretty interesting conversation. I think you would really like a 3 part documentary that I have been watching called "The Trap" by Adam Curtis on BBC. It is about a thing called the game theory and how humans actions can be categorized with numbers and from there the actions can be predicted using mathematical formulas. It is really amazing. you should look it up. if you want i can compress the file and send it to you. It has a lot to do with what we are talking about.

  • @fightnight217 haha im glad people on youtube can have conversations that do not involve cursing eachother out. And ill check it out dont take the trouble to compress it ill manage and you should defenitely go watch Zeitgeist if you haven;t already just google zeitgeist and its there also very interesting, totally different from The Trap I think but it blew my mind

  • @Erniieduud thanks ill definitely do that

  • Nuclear fission still produces radioactive waste. We've yet to come up with a sustainable way of getting rid of that waste.

  • Nuclear fission will be the energy of the future. Simplest way to large amounts of energy create with simply hydrogen atoms.

  • medicine makes humans weak...

  • @jewpowers yes

  • ummm?? wings i think you forgot about nuclear power? people are scared about nuclear power because of japan but it is a very clean source of energy

  • @IamJamieeee Actually it is finite but it's limited to the half-life of the particles the Nuclear Fission creates, the only infinite power sources are wind and hydro-electric because there will always be wind and there will always be water currents. Coal is limited, natural gas is limited, oil is limited, radioactive materials are limited and light is
