its not really that he's evolved into a different type of player. father time caught up with Kobe. hes old in basketball years. basically now he's pure mid range shooter and can get the occasional drive in there. by the time LeBron is Kobe's age he wont really have all the athleticism and explosiveness as he has now or used to have. Kobe was incredibly explosive before.

kobe has developed a different type of game because as he gets older he will lose his athleticism, thats why he developed a perimeter game. lebron james on the other hand, does not have a perimeter game and when he runs out of his raw athleticism, he'll become useless, just like shaq.
