New CNN/ORC poll out Tuesday shows that the pendulum of public opinion has swung away from the tea party. Just 28% of Americans hold favorable views of the tea party, an all-time low in the 19 months that CNN/ORC pollsters have gauged Americans' feelings about the movement. At the same time, 53% of Americans think poorly of the tea party, an all-time high. According to CNN/ORC, the movement's popularity peaked in the spring of 2010, when 38% of Americans said they liked the tea party. LMFAO!
yep this was one place, try this in the south. you won't see any black people mixing with the white people because of racism in the tea party on BOTH sides. besides the modern tea party started out nice but it soon was turned into a scam and a movement paid for by the corporate interest groups accept that one bus that scammed everyone out of their donations thinking they were giving to the real tea party but they were filling the bus driver's own pockets.
They stole General Motors? How? by not letting it go bnacrupt? Is this Preacher insane? ....Yes...his mind is like ....lost ...in his fire and brimstone baptist speech!
His being there is testiment to freedom of speech! The "unbearable" was Cheney and Bush...thats why their gone! This is not the Boston Tea Party...this is minority Christian fascism....clear and simple! NBC and ABC don't like Black America lovers...poppycock! Pure reliigous delusion!. Progressives didn't do any of these things
Your comments are completely ridiculous. Easy to paint this movement with a broad and bigoted brush, but the fact is the Tea Party CANNOT be categorized to make you and other libs, progressives, etc. feel comfortable writing them off. This movement epitomizes the general dissatisfaction with government, with our public servants, and with the direction they are leading our country. More people are paying attention. More people are waking up and getting mad. November is coming
Oh...and as for Progressives....during the Bush admin they protested the wars by burning the American flag, burning Bush in effigy, rioting, and destroying private property.
So you're right, Progressives didn't do "any of this." They didn't proudly wave the flag. They didn't sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. They didn't openly pray for God to heal our nation. They didn't honor the men and women who so bravely lay down their lives for our country.
He feels comfortable with John Birchers? With Rand Paul, who wants to allow private business to discriminate again? No this is not our History! Jefferson said the Corporations were already challenging our young nation and he hoped we would crush it! Washington said " this is not a tax by a King, but a ruling by a duly elected majority in Virginia...it is therefor the Law of the Land! He then marched on the Whiskey Rebellion who's slogan was Tea Party and put them down for treason by boyonet!
No, the founding fathers would not have been sponsored by the John Birch Society, they would not back the Treason expounded by these fake tea baggers. Look up the Whiskey Rebellion if you want to see what they actually did. "This is not a tax from an un elected King, but that of an elected majority. "It is the law of the land" Then put them down by bayonet! For Treason against the young U.S.A.
@ultramanprime9 Some people love to over-play the Whiskey Rebellion. Fact was that the gov't didn't slaughter the Rebellion participants. In fact, they forcefully conscripted citizens to join the militia against the Rebellion against their will. This was the most controversial aspect of the Whiskey Rebellion.
LOL at Tea Party response to claims that they are racist. "LOOK LOOK LOOK AMERICA!! WE BROUGHT A BLACK PERSON WITH US! WE CAN'T BE RACISTS IF WE HAVE ONE SPEAK AT OUR RALLY. SURE SOME OF THE PEOPLE IN CROWD MIGHT WANT TO LYNCH HIM AFTERWARDS BUT WE WON'T SHOW YOU THOSE GUYS."
@RushRecklezz before you condem the Tea Party. Go to one and see what is really spoken and what the people want. Since you have not you have not right to call anyone racist.I would call you an idiot but not really knowing you I will hold off
(1) "there were no English statute laws . . . authorizing the holding of slaves, either in England or in the American colonies," and
(2) "the common law of England was incompatible with slavery, and neither recognized nor permitted its existence." Goodell, supra, pp 18 and 49-51; and Benjamin Shaw, Illegality of Slavery (Boston, 1846), p 2
The Tea Party may be diverse but it's definitely not educated.
Tea Party and the rise of neo-fascist movement in the United States, and it's clear to me that the "Take Back America" crowd are striving to purify the US and return it to a mythical lost golden era, and they are not afraid to attack immigrants, Arabs, African Americans, queer folks, women, and anyone else that would deny their messianic mission of restoring white male supremacy
There are many videos of tea party rallies using racial slurs and signs, only takes a minute or two to find them. Maybe not all tea baggers are racist but its fairly clear if you do your own research that racism is a plague and infects people of every color.
@SOILENTGREENISPEOPLE So how many black people are needed to fill the quota at Tea Party rallies? Maybe we should have a bunch bussed in at upcoming events.
@Kingsta2000 explain why this man is a sell out? tell me who uncle tom is.......wait!!! LOOK, ONE OF OUR BROTHERS IS CRAWLING OUT OF THE POT!! QUICK, KING GANGSTA GUY!! pull him back down.
@super16g123 He's not a sell out. He's just insane....from to much God delusion! He's chasing non-existent Demons! He thinks there are Demons and fails to see the real problem..."Crony Capitalism for the few" It took America over yrs ago. And just like India and Iran....keep using God as their reason. But its not....its for money and power. Poverty helps religions control people and get their money.....end of story....and they will say anything for that money....so whats new?
We just have to have our eyes wide open and consider who is controling the TBP and what the undercurrents are beyond the small goverment and ficsal responcability that is central to this new party.
I am Jewish and I know that proud Germans who were Jews helped elect chancelor Hitler to leadership in pre-Nazi Germany because of his economic policy dispite expicite racist language. One Black Reverand at one event is not proof in either direction of this racism arguement conserning the TBP.
He and the other black Republicans have another thing coming assuming religion means politics. Franklin D. Roosevelt a Democrat fought for civil rights in the 30's but yet again Republicans block it. The first thought of the March on Washington was in 1941 which 100,000 people was going to march not a Republican Martin L. King. Blacks switched there vote to Democrats during Roosevelts term because Democrats listened to their concerns.
@tapp40 ppl who argue that the Teabagger Party is not primarily targeting White Christians w/ its languge & can't tell by all of the footage of thier gatherings that it is overwhelmingly white & Christian as a result is in denial. Not to say that the TBP ppl are racist; that the TBP appeals to A LOT more White-Christians than minorities & some of these White-Christians might be racist as likely. TBP could covertly be a public way to be racist & the TBP could be influenced by these ppl.
@honeybeechanger Racism gos both ways, being for Obama b/c hes black is racist, being against the Tea party b/c its prodomitly white chistians, racist. As a matter of a fact roughly 34% of the tea party is made up of minorities as of June 3, 2010. And yeah some people might be using this as a cover of racism but look at the core doctorine of the movment, has nothing to do with race.
@honeybeechanger So you're saying that because they're predominantly white and Christian, then they must be racist. I see. Well, then the entire nation is racist, because it is predomoinantly white and Christian.
@Ovedya2006 No...it's said because the John Birch Society sponsers them! And Rand Paul thinks the Civil Rights Act was unconstitutional...and that segregation on private property is O.K. Discrimination for except one race, religion or ethnic background is worse than mere rascism....It's Fascism! and Treason!
p.s. and they wellcom all the white suprecist groups into their party! Proof positive.
I would never be a member of such an un-self policing mob!
No, the John Birch Society does not sponsor the Tea Party movement. It may support it because of a common idealogy (less government, more personal responsibility) but there's no indication that JBS "sponsors" the Tea Party.
And who gives a flying *&%&*%^ what Rand thinks or believes. He doesn't speak for the Tea Party. Finally, the Tea Party DOES NOT "welcome" white supremacists. That is simply false. In fact at rallies they KICK THEM OUT.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow

How sad. Why does it always seem like those that yell racism the loudest are the biggest racist you'll ever come across.
HA HA HA Yep Fox news paid him, of course they're paying all the Tea Party protesters. You should look into you can make a bundle. Each protester gets 1,000 bucks each with travel and accommodations paid for.
@linwooddeaton Calm down I'm being sarcastic in the second paragraph and failing apparently....but I can see how you might see it cutting against Tea Party Protesters.
Sorry the very thought of FOX paying all the Tea Party Protesters just seemed ridiculously over the top enough to get my sarcasm through.
Oh and racism will never die because you can't actually kill it. Until every person is identical on the planet there will always be one group that hates another group based on anything.
Take for example soccer hooligans in the UK, they maim, attack and even kill each other over a game. It can be anything that makes people attack each other, road rage anyone? Racism is really just one small example of what drives some to violence. It's just harped on all the time because of white guilt. Race Hustlers are only around because white folks allow them to be. No white guilt, no Jess Jackson or Al Sharpton. Proven and effective race hustlers.
its not about race now. continue to regurgitate your lies but its not, sorry.
