  • Such a beautiful song. Beats any of that Tupac bullshit that people listen to.

  • @necrosny TUPAC LIVES.

  • This would make a great, well way to long, 'snapsvisa' for Midsommar.

  • Just a shame its not 10 minutes longer. Beautiful song. I recently added it to my play list for when i sing in bars etc

  • the one person who doesnt like this song has had his arsohole bleeding at some point in his life.

  • @AardwarkOfDoom

    AHAHAHAHAHA

  • The version by Februari 93 is really cool

  • The version by Februari 93 rules!!!! Totaln Folk Metal domination ;) cool to read this translated though, now I know what they are singing

  • i know one wonderful version of this song by Heidenspaß,anyone know this band..?

  • Nice: however, "vakan" in this song is "trasten" - that'd be "the thrush" in English. Ie something like "the thrush calls out ...".

I know wakening is common translation but it's inaccurate.

  • Wunderbar!!! Vilen Dank!

  • Hahah svenska måste låta ganska bra i andra människors öron :)

*Hahah swedish has to sound pretty good in other ppls ears :) *

  • It's actually shorter but with the tune the song becomes longer =)

awesome song, lyssnar på de sen början

  • RESPECT for this song!! HAIL FROM SERBIA :-)!

  • Amaaazing so calm and soothing plus the lyrics are so beautiful :D

  • Falconer and Mithoytn have the same base members...

some members in Mithotyn founded Falconer

  • It's Mithotyn's "Tils Dagen Gryr"!!!! Oh Stefan, you sly Swede.

  • Why is this song so short? They should make it longer.

  • it's a traditional song, from long ago.. falconer didn't make it.

  • I know, but I've heard other verses to this song.

  • aha oki sorry

  • I don't think it's longer.

  • Well then if that's true, I've definitely heard songs put to this tune that sounded suspiciously like Vårvindar Friska.

  • Outstanding.

  • what about clarion call. that may be their best song.

  • Its hard to say which Falconer song is the best. But yeah The Clarion Call is def. up there.

  • Otroligt vacker :) <3

  • When i first heard this song, and chanting...beautiful but on the other hand, sorrowfull emotions filled my heart! even i didn't understand completely nothing in Swedish, i could feel the sadness in this song! The best ballad in the world!

  • dragon, you are correct. The original is "Klaga, mitt hjärta..." but for some reason people have changed it. I prefer the original. Very pleased Falconer chose to stick to that version!

  • Thx for lyrics.. And its a very beautiful song. Thx :)

  • fin översättning. Det låter välldigt fint på engalska..

  • Heathen Maiden, I have heard "Klaga, mitt hjärta, klaga" every time the song has been sung in my life! "Klappa" is something they write in the song books, but noone says it when you actually sing.

  • I'm sorry, I do not actually speak Swedish, I cannot understand you. :(

  • okay i put the sentence into a translator and i think you are asking, forgive me if i am wrong, if the correct word was used? for that i don't know, all i know is this is what they said.

  • Hey, sorry for using Swedish there.

In this song they sing "Klaga mitt hjärta, klaga och hör" but the version I have heard all my life and was brought up on (and the one I find in all song books out there) goes "Klappa mitt hjärta, klaga och hör". So I was wondering if Falconer just got it wrong or if there is a real version out there that uses 'klaga' instead of 'klappa'. To me it just sounds extremely weird when they're singing 'klaga mitt hjärta'. That's all :)

  • Oh okay, well again I really don't know haha, I can understand how it would sound weird

  • @MasterAtherion I means that they are singing about their complaining heart versus their beating heart.

  • @HeathenMaiden honey you got to understand that folk songs are old songs that have been passed by word of mouth and there are usually many versions of the same song, its very comon to have even the same melody with completely different lyrics varying from village to village

  • @cryostation You don't have to tell me that, I know that. But in Sweden, no matter what song book (of folk songs) you look in, it's always been the same lyrics for this particular song. And even though local variations have existed, "official" versions have been established for almost all traditional songs for the country as a whole. I've heard this song so many times in my life, sung by so many different people, seen it countless times in print in various song books or sheet music.

  • @HeathenMaiden you seem to like folk music. good for you. i love folk music from sweeden. i think its probably the best folk music i ever heard.

  • @cryostation (and others)

I think this was rather interesting. I agree with you on the vocal tradition when lyrics and/or music changes when passed between musicians. But I recalled that this particular song has a known source, and to satisfy my curiosity, I had to look it up.

The lyrics to this song were written by Julia Kristina Nyberg (1785-1854). This recording uses her original text. And, yes, it is slightly different from the version we are taught in schools and in choirs.

  • @domramalaja on a side note, we of the modern era find it hard to understand the factory which produced folk music. for example the bardic tradition. each bard added or subtracted something to the song, and that is what made the folk songs immortal. theyw ere in a sense open-source. todays music has been so brutalized and destroyed by commercialism and copyrights. thats why folk music is better

  • @MasterAtherion How sweet of you to try :)

  • Comment removed

  • I've actually heard both versions on youtube so I think they're both out there but I tend to prefer "Klappa" more than then "Klaga" one. Sounds better too :)

  • @HeathenMaiden

Den ursprungliga versionen är "klaga mitt hjärta".

    Så nu vet du det.

  • @HeathenMaiden

  • @HeathenMaiden What a shame. They changed klappa to klaga. In my entire life I've heard the "klappa" version.

This sounds like a left -wing version. Distorting the truth...

  • Dang it, i just noticed i had the credits to big, it cut off part of it *Rage!* lol i guess i cant fix that without too much effort

  • Yeah, but for dividing the paragraphs, Basically try to go for all that he says within a breath. i really don't think i could have gone any small because he really doesn't stop at any point besides where i did it. (my editing program isn't the best in the world either so it is sometimes harder) but thats for the imput, i will keep it in mind :D

  • Nice, this had as you said a lot more quality than the previous one. The layout is very nice but you should think about dividing the text into smaller paragraphs,i think things would be more clear. nevertheless your effort outdoes anything i could ever hope for.
