I use brown gel. ..and for like 10 years (locs).. .my hair is healthy. . .no build up for me. The clear gels build up and flake (for me). .and my locs never dry with it. When giving advice always refer to what's best for you and not make your suggestions so final. Thanks for the tutorial!

thanks for all the updo styles. my locs are 7 years old and hanging midway down my back. I'm actually starting my locing process and I use Honey Wax to twist them in...I notices in your video u suggested that u dont use Bees wax, honey wax is pretty similar...what do you suggest I use to maintain my locs and they form...

I had a similar look for my graduation May 2009. I had angles/designed flat twist in the front and then rollerset the hanging locs.

@tlmiller10 My locs will be 5 years old in July. What's strange is that I recently hit a growth spurt. From January to now I can see the difference. I think it maybe because I've never been too much of a product junkie. I don't use much on my hair and the less I use the better it does. I think too many chemicals may hinder the growth. Cutting out the "creamy crack" (the perm) was one thing but I had cut the chemicals in everything. I more of a minimalist now.

I think that's what it's called. It leaves so much gunk in your hair. I prefer a clear non flaking gel but that's just me.
