I really don't see why the Lockdown isn't used so much in MMA; far too often do you see fighters just figure four'ing to hold half guard down only to get completely destroyed the guy on top. By Locking someone down, you keep them from postering up (as if they do, they can easily be Whipped Up and sweeped or submitted in dozens of different ways) and Locking down keeps the top guy from T'ing of on you like most wrestlers do, which works more often than not. Anyways, just my two cents : /
In another video Frank Mir said he should have use his other leg to trap Lesner. He said the BJJ half guard actually trapped himself. He said he should have trapped Lesner with the other leg. That way he could have slid his body/leg out from under Lesner.
I like this dude, he knows a lot of things, but he does not pretend to know everything, he really admits if he is not sure of something then gives an alternative that he is sure of..
Brock used that strategy pretty well for a few fights until people finally learned. Velsquez was one of those who learned and stayed the hell out of that position.

Fantastic explanation. This fight showed Brock's improvement as a fighter, particularly his patience and strategy. His is not a complicated style but he executes it really well. He uses superior size and athleticism to get control and keep it. This is how big brothers have beat up little brothers since the dawn of history.

Once someone who is better at striking and just as good at wrestling and about the same size(Shane Carwin) fights Brock, he will be stopped. Carwin fought Mir too, and finished him faster than Brock.

This is a really good way to attract viewers to your channel i.e. doing post fight technique analysis. Think of the traffic you can then push through to grapplearts / beginningBJJ... @Feralig Unstoppable? He beat Randy, who he outweighed by at least 80 pounds, Heath Herring, who is good but not great. His victory over Mir was impressive, but he also lost to Mir. I don't think he is unstoppable. It's like how everyone thought Machida, Chuck, and BJ were unstoppable. They have all been stopped because there styles were figured out and countered. Brock is good, but i don't think he's the unstoppable force that he and his fans believe he is.

Your second MMA fight, not some amateur guy in your back yard but a top 10 heavyweight... Top 5 at the time. The people you are naming off don't compare to Lesnar, BJ, Chuck, Machida. Those guys are all lesser divisions. This guy is a 265+ monster with twice the quickness and 3 times the strength of those guys. His loss to Mir was his first and his last.

@Feralig I just watched his fights with couture, and he is vulnerable to stand up, and couture was even able to control him somewhat on the ground. What i meant by those fighters is that they were all considered unstoppable because of the special skill set they had. Once someone who is better at striking and just as good at wrestling and about the same size(Shane Carwin) fights Brock, he will be stopped. Carwin fought Mir too, and finished him faster than Brock.
