@MrHenryjr0618 Gwangi was meant to be a Allosaurus, but Ray Harryhausen designed him after the paintings of Charles R. Knight. He's more of a hybrid if anything.
@XDEATHREEPERX The FX guys from Jurassic Park took inspiration from this dumb old movie, they are all big fans of The Valley of Gwangi and it's stop-motion FX creator, Ray Harryhausen. When you're talented enough to sculpt a creature this detailed and painstakingly animate and superimpose it onto film with live actors, then you can criticise Harryhausen's extraordinary FX work.
Yay! Hooray for the cowboy on the horse who speared a herbivore instead of a carnivore who is more of a threat in your life rather than that poor Styracosaurus.
God, the brutal little details that Harryhausen would always ad in are fantastic (in a horffic sort of way). Like the Styracosaur still breathing and just lying there dying before Gawngi has even killed him all the way. Hell, Gwangi even eats some of him while hes still alive!!
Its little details like that that really help Stop-Motions effect age like fine wine ;)
Allosaurus is attacking Stycosaurus but this is stupid, Allosaurus bigger than Styrocosaurus and Allosaurus lived in Jurrasic Period and Styrocosaurus lived in Ctecaus Period. Jurrasic Period was before Ctecaus Period. Styrocosaurus lived in same time with T. rex did. Allosaurus is 12m (40ft) long and 2-5 tonne and Styrocosaurus is 5.2m (16ft 6inch) and weight is 500+kg-1 tonne. Allosaurus cont kill Styrocosaurus because of its long and dangerous horns and the neck shield is protecs from bites.
Lol, after all that the allo just takes 2 bites and leaves.

Gwangi is probably the result of a Rex and Allosaurus mating!! Well, I guess I just made up a possible Gwangi origin...

I don't think that is an allosaurus. Looks more like T-rex
