  • That narrator is pretty fucking stupid. Do some research into thai culture and muay thai.maybe show how muay thai is a way out of poverty for these kids and their families.these kids are raised tough, both physically and mentally with dedication and discipline!! Instead of making this stupid report, why dont you look at the girls who leave poverty in the countryside to work as prostitutes in the cities to earn money for their families, and become fucked up with alcohol, drugs and aids!!

  • Watch 00:48 seconds, and couldn't stand the fact she was calling it "Mai Tai" instead of Muay Thai.

If they can't take the time to say it correctly, I can't take the time to watch it fully :)

  • Good doco. . . a few misconceptions and generalisations on the narrators part but theres no denying the heart of those kids.

  • Go pao! Your my hero man!

  • It's called "Kick boxing" in America. In Thailand (Where we got kick boxing from) it's called Muay Thai. Kick boxing is America's version of it.

  • why doesn this bitch keep saying MY thai

  • she make it sound like the child kickboxer is a rare species ready to be observe...

  • most horrible narrator ever

  • makes me sad

  • a western woman's opinion on an exotic national sport she can't even pronounce correctly. buddha please

  • I love how she's a debbie downer about the whole thing, and then reveals "Many children _decide_ to become Muy Thai fighers..." - wait 2 min ago you made it sound like they were hauled in at gunpoint and forced to dance for the evil adults who want to game on them and care not for their well being?

  • God bless them all ..

  • At 6.12 is it Paquiao in after 20 years ??? Looks just like him!!!

  • Some people tend to romantisize this shit! (see most popular comments) If you go to thailand and talk to some of these boys; they often just don't understand people in Western countries want to box for fun, just as a hobby!

Ofcourse, it's not all black & white but don't naievely underestimate the hardships of the life a lot of people experience over there.

  • SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY OF THESE CHILDREN IS MINDBLOWING.....WTF WAS I DOING WHEN I WAS SIX

  • W D F @ 13:34 that kid laughed! if a kid in the west did that itd be a cry lol

  • My 4 year old whines too much, if you run a gym please contact me he's in need of some discipline. He is able to work 12 hours and has a basic level of fitness (I make him run and do weights daily).

  • they are trained athletes.

  • japanese karate used to called Muaythai ''kickboxing'',American used to call Muaythai ''kickboxing''.but afterwards American called Full contact Karate ''kickboxing''to upgrade their Full contact karate to par with Muaythai.Luckily they were Muaythai Gyms in America 'one is rufus' and a lot in Europe that ''helped'' keep the name Muaythai,Thankyou so much.Right now when you say ''kickboxing'' a lot of people knows that, it is Muaythai.

  • this is low class.... but pretty bad ass

  • People in poverty do what they can with their lives and opporutnities with everything they have. You cannot blame sport, unsanitary living, and harsh living conditions even for children. The only ones to blame are those who have power to control societies like this. When there are people who have the wealth to own multiple houses for themselves, and those who work but cannot afford to provide food and education for their children (like the parents of these muay thai kids), there lies the problem

  • This lady has pity for these kids. I love em and it looks like they love it too.

  • @jubran91 They don!t really have a choice...

  • The narrator cannot even pronounce the name of the sport. How can her report have any credibility at all, she obviously knows nothing about Muay Thai, or Thai culture.

But, of course, that doesn't keep her from having strong opinions.

  • This video is un-researched, biased garbage. I live in Chiang Mai, train at a Thai gym and go to the fights 3 times a week. First, these kids aren't heavy enough to hurt each other. Second, if the kid doesn't enjoy the sport, he won't make it past the first few fights and the gym will drop him. Third, most of these kids are undisciplined and come from horrible families. Without role models and coaches at the gym pushing them, they would quit school before finishing grade 5. No gym takes 3k baht!

  • lol, she cant pronounce muay thai :)

  • would love to go train in thailand.

  • CHILD ABUSE!!!!

  • The poor boy...

    I feel sad !

  • fuck the americans watching this documentary, maybe 1 in 100 thais lives like this

  • @t0mmmmmy It's not american's fault if Thailand can't fucking handle their country right. They have everything they need to prosper. They just live in a fuck up country. Communisme suck, asia is the land of communisme dictator.

  • the whole air with wich this documentry is made of is a one with western values. U simply can not understand anything with your western views. sure its tough, but it brings a strong mind in the end. mind over matter. I can say from my own time in thailand, training muay thai, that these youngsters grow up to be healthy confident strong men and woman. and have learned stuff u never will with all your chit chat.

  • This is what warriors do to overcome poor situations- THEY FIGHT! Respect to all Nak Muay. Best of Luck!

  • i feel sorry 4 theses kids, they are too young to be a fighter.

  • These kids represent the rest of the world. When u live in the U.S you sometimes feel that the rest of the world does not exist.

  • CHILD ABUSE!!!!!

  • @1Waddup yor an idiot!

  • @chanheurng for speaking the truth sbout islam?

  • @1Waddup No for calling Muay Thai child Abuse.

  • WTF im gonna show you danger you fucking dum bitchs they fight for there parents cuz there paretns don't have mutch money i know cuz im half thai

  • she say muay thai wrong

  • Comment removed

  • I am from thailand. This is not abuse.. For many boys, to become a muay thai pro is their dream. The speaker makes it sound bad, because she doesnt understand the culture. To send money home to parents is commen in thailnd even when your old. they all help each other. dont expect you to understand it. not every one is born with a silver spoon in their mouth

  • First you say its not abuse because its their dream. Then you change it to "they do it cuz their parents need money". Have I missunderstood what you were saying or do you approve of child labour?

  • Comment removed

  • please,,,,understand thai culture..... in thailand fighters are are like brit pop stars

  • poor kids... but dont wanna meat this kid when he gets 16 : /

  • isnt this a form of abuse

  • better see kids fight to fight poverty, than grow yaba in their fields for the same reason

  • these kids take on any kid spartan anydayyy

  • lol i saw a 12 year old bout in koh pangan... it was mental

  • it might seem good seeing these kids disceplined to fight but its not necerserily there choice and it should wait till they can actually make intelectual choices which arent forced upon by others.

  • @haPpkiLL In a perfect world that would make sence but it isn't and these people are dirt poor and have no opptions so they take what's avalible to them. this is the third would not the first world where your privilaged ass comes from.

  • he e-sarn that why the kid at school don't talk to him, tell the king to give up some of his money to help this plp i heard he rich as hell lol

  • @ChaMpaSacC the king tried his best to help thai ppl .. without him Thailand wont be the way it is now ..

  • fucking woman dont know what she is talking about, even calls the fighters muay thai 'players'

  • its muay thai FFS

  • it is a tough life they are doing it for their parents and family . i think we should try to understand them it is not like america where their are more opportunities for them

  • Parents are supposed to make money to feed their kids.....not kids make money to feed parents.

  • Don't bring kids into this world, if parents can't feed their own mouths.

  • Think about it, you can see that parents are the SELFISH people, not kids.

  • @avu0 why because they want their kids to get an education and have a way to make money, your stupid!

  • lol, man this is so biased. if they didnt care about their safety, why the fuck have a ref at all? this is a way of life, and its no better or worse then spending your life behind an office desk.

  • agreed, im from england. i started fighting thai at 12... whats the deal. every1 should be made to do it, disciplin and not being a nation of ponses with fucked up human rights laws.

  • The whole world should be like that, disciplined and ready to fight

  • I'm from Thailand and i don't think that this is right, kids are growing up and fighting at a young age may cause problems when they grow up.

  • its muay thai not kickboxing kickboxing is completeley diffrent

  • look at those poor kids, they would go to school in a second if education was free in their country. look at the kids in the states and canada and all those western countries they are given free education they dont take advantage they skip waste their time..... Truth is stranger then fiction.. so tru

  • Poor rural kids having a chance to go to school and send money home?

  • wow theses kids are tough as nails, not like the kids in america that are spoiled and cry for everything if they dont get it, these kids in thailand have to fight for their family and even though their poor i respect them way more than those spoiled little kids in america

  • @conrump And you think this is cool? A children should never have to fight for his family. That's the parents job! At least in America, even if the kid aren't perfect, they don't have to live in a fuck up country.

  • @MercerQC its not their decision u idiot they have 2 fight 2 survive and oh ya of course america is perfect.....what a naive ignorant dumb ass u are keep believing that....

  • @conrump America is far from perfect, no country is perfect. At least in America(and I don't live there by the way i'm canadian) there would not be an audience of retarded who pays hundred of dollars to see children fight for the survival of their family. America is not perfect, Canada is not perfect, but at least we don't have a fuck up country like that, because we fought for it.

  • Comment removed

  • @conrump ''Even though they're poor, I respect them way more...''

What the hell do you mean with that?

I hate this kind of thing. Why should they need to fight and risk their health just for money to eat and live? Why can't they just be kids and get a good education? This kind of thing really sickens me and it's awful.

  • @Anandfulness thats the whole point u dumbass they fight to get money to feed themselves and their family if they didnt fight they would starve it sucks that they didnt hav much opportunities in life but now they must roll with the punches if u catch my drift

  • @conrump: Fuck that, these kids should get proper care in the first place. They shouldn't be fighting, they're too young. Here we have rules that full contact cannot be done under the age of 18. Otherwise it's harmful for their development. There the government doesn't give a shit. They say ''Let em earn some money''. Fuck that line of thinking. Those kids should develop their brains, not destroy them.

  • @Anandfulness It is their culture. Nobody from western countries can understand it unless he lives in Thailand for a long time. It won't change even if they have money.

  • @m1c4a1 But they should at least have the choice between a career as a boxer or becoming a doctor. Everyone should have that choice in my opinion. And if not a doctor then something else. The problem here is that they get forced into this mindset of becoming a fighter and then that's all they ever become. And if they get 1 serious injury or lose too many times, they don't have anything left and they're left to wander on the streets. If they had money they could go back to school or back home.

  • @Anandfulness that's nice if you come from a first world counrty, but the majority of the world does have that chance at all. You can't put your first world standards to judge this,. you don't live in reality dude, most of these kids have to drop out of school at a young age just to help their parents on the farm. the boxing gym sends these kids to school and the money they win they give to their family to survive.

  • @chanheurng The boxing gym only wants to profit from these kids. The government should look after these kids no matter how good they can fight. What about the girls? What about the girls that don't fight? Or the boys that got too many injuries? Are they supposed to die on the street because they can't fight? Bullshit. The government should put a stop to the profit of children. This kind of thing is worse than child labor. Are you for or against child labor?

  • @Anandfulness

The Government is fucking busy for their own profit.

They don't have time to worry about one or two

hundred of hungry family in their country

That's why these kids have to find their own way to their dream.

But not every poor kids are like that.

  • @Anandfulness If you don't have money or food you'd do anything to eat! but you never had to live like that. Your privilaged upbringing hasn't perpared you for the real world.

  • @conrump There are plenty of tough poor kids in america too, don't forget. But yeah these kids are awesome, it's like a bunch of tiny tony jaas.

  • @conrump another thing to America is far behind in education when it comes to their kids. plus the kids don't even do the work ghetto fucks.

  • @conrump

Yeah, silly us, sending our kids to safe schools and getting them an education rather than teaching them how to kick each other in the head four hours a day and then leaving them jobless when they're thirty and can't fight anymore. Fucking savage.

  • @UncleGary01.. i dont think they have metal detectors in their schools nor need them... who says theyre doing muay thai and not attending normal everyday school? i think our kids are crazy amounts of spoiled.. if youve been to any poor country youd know that our kids are so soft its ridiculous... keep nurturing them with the disney channel, t-ball, g-rated movies etc.. itll make them a very strong person worthy of the world ahead of them

  • The narator treats it like the children were thrown into a pit and forced to fight for people's amusement. People get so high and mighty over things they can't grasp.

  • i know right it theyre culture its not like theyre forced into death or somthing what people dont understand they fear she doesnt even pronounce things right

  • @RoughNeck205 In a way, yes what you said is true. But in another way, what the narrator says is also true. Many of these kids really are thrown into a pit to fight for people's amusement - if there were half the amount of spectators, do you think that there will be the same amount of fighters still thriving on that sport for money? Or if they had an opportunity to be somewhere else, would they not take it?

  • @StL33T It's not so much that they are thrown into a pit to fight, they chose it themselves, in Thailand it's much like american football in the USA or soccer in many european countries. It's a way to reach fame and fortune in a highly revered sport. Not much different from all those westerners who makes their kids play golf/tennis/soccer/hockey or whatever. In thailand the only available sport is muay thai

  • @aramir2 um no, you don't understand. It's how they make money so they can get food. We do it for fun, they do it to live.

  • at the least they have good food...

  • every one of them hopes to be the next tony jaa when they grow up.

  • tony jaa isnt that great of a fighter he was more of an acrobat more than a muay thai fighter. put him in a ring with Buakaw and he will get demolished.

  • this lady makes me sick.

  • 10:12 cant be healthy for your neck at all..

  • The tech is wrong. You have to keep the head facing in the same direction, sliding with it instead of changing the angle.

  • pple from the western world who come from privelged background shouldn't judge......

  • stupid cow should shut the fuck up, doesn't know what shes talking about.

  • 4 year olds doing pull ups lol quality

  • Totally agree with nokmuay1970. This was 15mins of pointing out the shortcommings in day to day life of this childs world and 30 seconds of explaining why he lives like this. Thailand is a very poverty racked country and it does not help to critizise them from a western 1st world country perspective. Live a year in their shoes then do a documentary.

  • Seriuosly, this women needs to learn a TON more about what she is talking about. Send me a PM sometime and I will educate you on the true reality of this country, its fighters and non fighters and the true plights . And please, do learn how to say the word Muay Thai correctly. It was painful to listen to this, with all its inaccurate statements, and over dramatisations. Honestly, please PM me and I would be very happy to help you understand the truth.

  • We did similar things for fun as kids. I wish these women would make less wineyesque videos.

  • I prefer watching cockfights than see littles kids getting injured or brain damaged but we all have to survive. Some prefer to kill or rob others or live as useless street beggars for the rest of their lives .I think we all prefer a good meal and good school but not all people can have such luxury. Poverty is everywhere.......

  • Keep in mind, muay thai boxers are like female gymnasts of the West. They train as children, begin seriously competing at 18, then retire in a few years. It's not as though they're competing as a novelty act like midget wrestlers or cockfighting, its just sport's athletic track.

  • i take muay thai but i gotta say these kids would kick my ass haha there whole life is devoted to it. some strong kids, hopefully some of them will get picked up by the ufc when there older.

  • yea right...no..XD they fight and they retire at a young age and get a manual job it's always like that..some make it big but they don't manage money well...

  • hey if your so much of a caring person why dont

you tell us about mma fighting ufc or your scared

of dana white because he is american your pretty tough cause you dont understand the culture have you seen people get pound there face in american children are in to ground and pound not called martial arts sister ground and pound maybe its america maybe the mob in america scares you to talk about the real real brutul stuff look up mma real street fight

stuff america mobsters scare you and me mma

  • Fat and lazy American kids must be ashamed watching this.

  • This is SPORT, why don't you study or find an information about this country before made this vid?

People will get it wrong because your stupid.

  • The conditions they are living in are much greater then they would be living in, in there family homes, and they actually have the opportunity to go to schools. i have spent alot of time in thailand. Muay Thai is such a great oppotunity for kids from outside of bangkok to get an education, earn some money and do things with there lives.

  • why does this woman make it sound negative? they're learning disscipline and are getting fit. in western countries, kids are getting fat, being rude, and sometimes running around with guns and shit. this is something i hate about western society. it always criticizes another country's culture.

  • Negative? This is discipline? WRONG! Learning your MATH assignments, your history lessons and social skills...THOSE are disciplines. Learning the Piano or Guitar, these, too are disciplines. What we have here is a far cry from any such things...This is EXPLOITATION CHILD ABUSE AND SLAVERY! You saw the former "CHAMP"...he is crippled and penny less.

  • ur a fucking retard.

  • Did you ever consider that they have practiced this sport for hundreds, if not thousands of years as a means of entertainment and self-preservation/self-defense. And did you ever consider that they have little if any opportunity compared to ur pompous western society who thinks being broke is paying $4 at the gas pump? Get your head out of your ass man.

  • PRAKTISTHAI ever consider the abuse, these boys endure, including HOMOSEXUAL assult, and sex trade PREVAILANT in Thailand? THAT has been going on for hundreds of years. Still O.K. with you??? Oh, and I paid $2.35 per gallon yesterday. Get your drugged out mess of a brain into REHAB!

  • So according to your logic i suppose since the hundreds of sexual-assualt cases involving catholic priests are in the u.s they're okay?? americans are so haughty and pompous when it comes to looking at the rest of the world. thats why you're country is sprialing downwards into a third-world statis.

  • PRAKTISTHAI How can you compare this abuse to that from Priests? The church HID sexual abuse for many generations. This fighting is done with the parents approval. FOR MONEY!!!

  • Id rather my kid learn manners and disiplin that is enforced with muay thai then join some fucking gang.

  • Lol the new supersoldiers of the world.

  • 'my thai' man at least get the pronunciation right

  • this is typical western media coverage, always highlighting and making stories seem so negative.

  • yea after watching more of this. the bitch doesn't know what she's talking about cause what's the difference between what these kids are doing, then what kids do in western countries in hockey and football.. they're just as small and the parents/spectators are just as rowdy.

  • watch me dance samba search Latinadancedoll or just visit my channel and watch me dance and plz comment about the dance ! and im 12 years

  • she makes it sound like the kids dislike it

  • please be more positive of the country that is not yours.

    thank you!

by the way, sorry about my poor English.

  • IF you ever see this bitch in Thailand or someplace else slap her into the face cuz all she's doing is talking shit about Thailand only finding the bad points about this country, seriously if you don't like Thailand that much why would u bother going over there? i just don't get it. i know nothing is perfect in this world but at least why don't you try being positive sometime? No countries in this world only have a good side to it, but not always bringing bad side to people to see...

  • seems like the point of this video was to hight light dangers of Muay thai and show the poor conditions of Thailands social system. Muay Thai is a great sport and provides a lot to the kids, men, and families that practice it in and outside of Thailand. Come the USA and you can find the same conditions in any ghetto. working in the ring for money, is no different than working at a desk for money, and no matter the job if your stupid you won't have money when you retire.

  • thank you journeymanpictures for this, please vote.rate this video and comment it. thank you

  • the screwy society understands neither nutrition, normal child development--both psychological and physical--God-given rights due the individual, etc., etc.

  • well, she made her point at the end. It beats living as a squatter.

  • i started muay thai when i was 6 when i used to live in thailand, i love it and still fight, im 17 now and won few fights but lost 3

  • this is anti muay thai footage that i will not watch again

  • 1000 baht is like 100$ candian!!!!!!!

  • I have worked in Thailand for many years. This film, while very one-sided, illustrates an important point about Thai culture: In general terms, invididuals are not important--even children.

  • their dinner didnt look as bad as i thot it would

  • 5000 baht!!! thats a shit load for kids

  • Clearly, jayvichy, you didn't hear what the narrator was saying. The little guy only gets about 1k of that, most of which goes home to his family.

  • Not only is this negative but the complete lack of any effort to pronounce the Thai correctly is imbarrasing. Also 5,000 baht is the min monthly wage so they are rewarded very well by local standards

  • thank god some one corrected this bitch its not mai tai its muay thai

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOl 14:45

  • I have no respect for the system...

  • These kids are doing what they can to earn money for their families through MORAL means (unlike other Thai children), yet this film is casting a negative light on the entire thing. They're getting healthy, getting exercise - not playing video games all day and getting fat like kids in western countries.

  • There's nothing healthy about brain damage and stunted growth.

Saying "What else can they do to earn money?" is what people used to say about sending kids into mines and factories.

  • Those little boys are good i like their discipline style..

  • and its keeping them from makin money on the streets doin bad things

  • its kinda racist to say this is child abuse cuz its part of Thai culture and alot of these kids wanna be boxers

  • y does that stupid cunt keep callin it My Thai?

  • You're a derogatory sexist, aren't you fuck face?

  • are you talking about me? no i'm not sexest nor do I use or promote the use of derogatory terms. i

  • i mean you could consider this abuse, but honestley i find having a obese child, giving them everything they want and spoiling them as even worse. i have so much respect for these young thai warriors

  • they look happy to me

  • at least they don;t stab other kids for fun like some other countries

  • Of Course Not! But all our Boxers that go to Olympic started leaning Muay Thai first. It's their basic..14mm2

  • Anyone here know what the fuck Mye Thai is?

I mean, I've heard of Muay Thai.

  • The stupid cow can't pronounce the word properly :)

  • A Mai Thai is a cocktail :)

  • my little nephew is also enjoy thai kick boxing. He practices hard everyday. He said he wanna go to Olympic.. hahaha

but of course, he get hurts while practicing or on fights.. I often convinced him to quit but he said he will never quit. So.......

  • yeah one problem...

muay thai isn't an olympic sport..

  • Getting hit in the head sucks, period. Especially for a young kid whose brain is still growing. Just because something is tradition doesn't mean it's great.

  • The presenter can't evan say Mau Thai correctly. It probably makes these kind of western people feel happier about there sad lives to criticise other cultures that they have no understanding of. My teacher had 200 pro fights and he has no lasting injuries, he is now 56 and working as a lumber -jack. Hes one of the tougthest people i've ever met. Let the western(ferang) kids play there play station and eat junk food and leave the Thai's alone !

  • i think i have to agree, in western eyes those living conditions seem really bad, i've lived with people whose living conditions were similar, and they smiled everyday, they were happy.

You must with these people for more than 2 years, before making any judgements,
