I'm a Rat. 11+3 West Point is not as hard as VMI because they have to water it down since they are "service academy" and constantly watched by the Media. but they do have better trainings for being better officers VMI is the hardest but VMI's mission is to "produce educated and honorable men and women prepare for "VERY" work of civil life. the goals are different. Military school ranking #1 West Point #2 Naval #3 VMI and hardest school ranking VMI make #1 that should tell you something

I wish they would not change so much. They are doing away with the traditional "meet your cadre"...apparently the drums are too intimidating or something and does nothing to train rats

If anything shown at VMI is no longer done there, I want it brought back. Meeting the cadre should be a terrifying, difficult experience, and the drums help make it that way.

Unfortunately they did change it. I do not see why either. I started to keep a list of all the changes my third class year. Now I handed that down to my rats. The idea is to keep a detailed list handed down through the dykeline, that way when I come back for reunions I can see what changed and whats just a rumor(since after all we have all heard the "back in the Old Corps" stories, some of which are true, others though are made up by people who were not even alive back then)
