No, he chose to leave. The only reason they wrote him off is because they had to since he was leaving. Simon and Alisha's character's were written off though. But that had to happen eventually. Season 3 was all filler to get to the end. Don't really know why they are even trying to make a 4th season.. But I will watch simply out of curiousity to see what the writers honestly think they can still do with the story line.
@PanicAmbush I did like him, but I think the writers put him out of the show at the proper time. He stayed as long as he could add something to the series. Otherwise he'd have begun to feel a little boring.
