My school system is Elementary (kindergarten to 2nd grade) Then Intermediate (3rd - 5th grade) After that it's Middle (6th - 8th grade) and then High School (9th - 12th grade). Yup, middle school is the stupidest idea ever. You got the tiny little 6th graders ( well at least at my school) and then you got the huge 8th graders who need to shave 3 times a week. When I was in 6th grade, i used to care what everyone thought about me. I was that kid who wore skinny jeans EVERY DAY. No matter what the weather is. But, kinda in the middle of 7th grade, I said f*&k it, I don't care what people think. So, the next day I wore sweatpants to school. And I loved it.
Wow ya know, now that i think about it, ive been defending other people all my life..... But no one has ever done that for me.....maybeee thats just my place in life, to be a pin cushon for all the hate....

Great story, 'Vince.' I'm in 8th grade (at a sixth, seventh and eighth grade middle school) and cliques are already forming. One of my long time friends tries to hang out with the 'popular' crowd, and be someone he's not. I tell him.. no. xP

A while back I used to care about what people thought of me, but then I started Youtube and now I don't care as much. I'll do what I want to do and if they don't like it, so what, at least I'm having fun.
That was a fascinating insight into a previous chapter of your life, Shawn, and as the others have already said quite inspirational, too. I don't know you in person, obviously, and I'm not so sure if you know who I am completely (despite featuring in Five Things!), but it has been a pleasure getting to know you through your videos in the past year or so. Keep up the good work Shawn, you're alright. :)
I was much like even in elementry school, but my middle school teachers decided they would crush me to make an example for the class. With me being sent to the principle for paying attention in class when the person next to me spoke on a regular basis the other students did behave a fair bit better. But in high school i just didn't want to go on anymore because of it.
Great video. I think we all have stories like this. I'm sure it's worse nowadays. Middle school was a pretty good time for me. I was in the smart classes and had more than enough friends. But I knew a lot kids who were stuck in that awkward zone that just wanted to break out.

I have 1 question though, in my school, there are the popular kids and then there are the boys and girls groups, then there's me and my 3 friends. some people from the boys and almost all people from the popular kids hate me over something that happened 3 years ago. its really getting on my nerves to how constant it is, how would i show them that i've changed and i just want to be friends? :P

I tried to just ignore them but it got to the point where i was having suicidal thoughts ( also recently found out i suffer from depression) so i went to my mom and i got myself pulled out of school. i now take my classes online, but my friends heard about this and i got SO much support that my friendship with Carla is stronger than ever.
