  • Olympus it would be good if you added all the frame rates for film makers like Canon.

  • i wanna be like this man in the video..... My dream is to be a extreme photographer.... I just bought my first camera Olympus Pen E-P1.... I bought it because i does not draw a lot of attention like other DSLR....

  • does anyone know if the keys are backlit like on the 620?

  • @nickkk420

    I think so.

The E-600 (the dumbed down version) doesn't have it.

  • DUDE OLYMPUS IS SICKK!!

poor people being brainwashed by the market to buy nikon or canon.

I mean, all of those brands are good, but there is something special about olympus that is not exposed to the world.

Olympus needs new marketing director to promote their product LOL

  • i have to say seeing sanw blow gently over the sand is a pretty beautiful sight

  • WHAT A FRIGGIN' GOOD CAMERA!

  • I personally am loyal to Olympus because Olympus works for 'me.' I go out and hike, rock climb, trail blaze, snowboard, mountain bike - you name it. The durability of the E-3 (E-5) is what works for me. The IQ is simply with the best out there. Canikon people do get on my nerves, a lot, but it is not the necessarily the company it is the user who bashes the image of photography.

  • All of the folks arguing over brands: calm down. The brand war is stupid and pointless. Pentax, Olympus, Canon, Nikon, Sony. All of them are making great cameras right now. I've used Olympus, Nikon & Canon. All of the cameras have been great to me. Besides, all you need to do is go on a website such as Flickr to see amazing images taken with cameras from any of these brands. There simply isn't a weak dslr on the market, only weak users who blame the tool instead of improving their skill.

  • @obskure1 you mistake passion for the sake of arguing, big difference.

myself and xmeda are merely exercising our passions, with a few exaggerations and insults for good measure.Apologies to anyone whose Egos were upset, personally speaking passion is the key to great things as i was not upset, merely exited.

  • @obskure1 AMEN BROTHER

  • magnificent really

  • YOU WANT A DECENT PENTAX CAMERA,GO BUY MEDIUM FORMAT CAMERA AND BURN HOLES IN YOUR POCKETS IN THE PROCESS,MONEY AND TECHNOLOGY DO NOT MAKE FOR SUPERIOR IMAGES BECAUSE ANY MONKEY CAN PRESS A BUTTON AND PRETEND TO BE A PROFESSOR,FOR ONLY A GENIUS CAN TAKE A PICTURE USING A BROWNIE AND CREATE A MASTERPIECE.

  • @starclad You need some pills, seriously.

  • @xmeda i would gladly give you my incontinence pills.

  • @starclad ...as we all can see, great amount of rudeness, ignorancy and stupidity was also bundled in your E3 camera box.. get life

  • @xmeda are you saying we,who is we,i called you out and you failed spectacularly professor moron, and just look back at the comments to see who started the insults, don't start a fight you cant finish.

no friends no hope and no idea......

i tell you what,i will send you a friend request ,that will make two friends what do you say??????

  • I can't believe the negativity towards Olympus and the fact that this may be the end of their four-thirds SLRs. I remember when people were laughing at the in-body art filters of the Olympus, and now most SLRs have in-body filters. Canon's latest model has a 'diorama' filter. I wonder who they got that from? Can all Olypmus haters please remember that if it wasn't for the creativity of Olympus, your so-called big, leading branded cameras would be the laughing stock of the camera world!

  • @chunggokyan GREAT COMMENT.

  • @starclad Thanks Starclad - We all need to stick up for our Olys because they are clearly the best SLRs in the World!

  • Seriously though, micro four thirds? Tiny viewfinder, barely usable high ISO, inability to really blur out backgrounds, apart from olympus long time fanboys, I cant think of anyone who would want a camera like this?

There's 7d's, 5d's, d300's and d700's, k-5 and even alphas that better this... Apart from built quality I cant find a reason to buy a bulky PEN. Even then there's the pentax's that are built to the same standard.

Credit to olympus though for the good advertising :)

  • Oh, fogot the zuiko glass, but still, why buy a camera when it cant match the quality of the lens? its all well and good saying theres the frankly awesome glass, when it needs to be on cameras like tha a900, 1dsmkiii and d3x to squeeze every ounce out of it :)

  • Pentax K5 costs less and is WR too.. also has way better sensor and superb lenses.

  • @xmeda pentax lenses cannot compare to zukio glass , but i love pentax bodies

  • @343GuiltysparkHALO For olympus it is easier to cover 2x crop small sensor + naturally that lenses are not able to produce same DOF. Thats all. But try some limiteds, FA* or DA*. You'll never say that again ;)

  • @xmeda i wouldn't say that it has a way better image censer,Olympus IQ is superior to Pentax not counting both makes of lenses, that is a different story.

  • @starclad maybe today's E5 is superior to 5 years old K10D, but there is no chance to compete with anything from K20D or above. In all aspects. Sensitivity, noise, resolution. Even a year old and cheapest Kx beats that current "top model" in these terms. 12Mpix 4/3 sensor derived from E-Pen produces sometimes usable iso1600 at its best. But that was standard performance 3 years ago with APS-C.

Oly decided to go m4/3.. "new" outdated E-5 which costs more than competition is clear signal.

  • @xmeda IQ is nothing to do with speed, high ISO or greater amount of pixels,it has to do with the overall image quality or rendering out of the box.

I own a Pentax K-7 14mp came with a 18-55 pentax da smc lens and and also an Olympus E-3 10mp with a 12-60mm Zuiko SW.....

i dont need to say anything else.

  • @starclad Get proper lens first.. at least FA35/2 or DA16-50/2.8. Comparing kit-lens to much more expensive 12-60 is fairly stupid. Then compare raw. You can place them here by link, so everyone can see that super olympus image :D :D :D

  • @xmeda those are the kit lenses for both cameras, what they are sold with, you don't get Fa limited lenses as kit do you,so out of THE BOX THE E-3 KICKS YOUR ARSE.

  • @starclad 12-60 is not a basic kit-lens (but i agree that it is a fairly good zoom). The 14-42/3.5-5.6 is the same class like 18-55, but DA18-55WR is weather sealed. DA*16-50 is same price class as 12-60.

    E3 can be obtained as E3, E3+14-54, E3+12-60, E3+14-35 (or doublezooms)

    K7 can be obtained as K7, K7+18-55WR, K7+17-70/4, K7+16-50, (+doublezooms with 50-200WR, 55-300, 50-135/2.8, 60-250/4)

    K5 adds 18-135WR

E3+12-60 cost 2x the price of K7+18-55... Obsolete E3 body cost same like K5 body.

  • @xmeda my E3 came with a 12-60mm as a kit lens,it also came with the FL 50 flash and a battery grip and two battery charges for $2999 Australian dollars in a promotional pack, that could not be beaten by Nikon OR Canon and Pentax and its miserable kit lenses, that in itself gave Olympus a huge advantage at the time,do Pentax or any of the other stingy bastard brands give you as much,FUCKING HELL NO.

  • @starclad ED12-60 alone cost same like K7 + DA18-55WR. What people will buy? 12-60 also cost more than DA*16-50/2.8 + FA50/1.4 together and is NOT able to achieve same shallow DOF.

Find some prices, options and parameters before you start posting blind nonsense and comparing pears and apples.

Oly killed 4/3 with pricing. They need E5 priced below D7000 or 60D + cheaper lenses by 20% to save 4/3 market against current competition. But it seems, that they finally decided to be m4/3 company.

  • @xmeda how about we add pentaxes shity censor dust and hair reduction that is not so great,it doesn't get rid of specs of dirt and hair,so i would be more worried about changing my you beaut 31mm f 1.8 fa limited for fear of ruining the reputation of my fantastic limited lenses all because the censor which relates DIRECTLY to IMAGE QUALITY or IQ,cant wipe its arse efficiently making for a poorer image and less confident when it come to a lens change,Olympus DUST REDUCTION IS THE BEST.

  • I own the E-1, still a great performer and reliable friend. Now I'm ready to move to the E-5, and as far as i can tell, it was worthe to wait. Olympus may have a smaller sensor, but this new generation suffer severeal developments that allows it to face batter performance. Better night exposures, a better image quality. Image quality that was already stunning with that super Zuiko glass (the better glass in the market in my opinion). certainly that the future is bright for the Olympus E-5.

  • Smart Move for Olympus to turn to Youtube for Exposure!

  • what is the name of this song?

  • sweet, looks like canyonlands NP. Can't wait to lay my hands on the E-5...have been such a longgg wait!

  • My E-30 got trashed in a dust storm in The Salton Sea California. I can't wait to get an E-5!
