Nice presentation. One other way to think about it, which I'm sure you know but others might not so I mention it here -- take a Minor Pentatonic, 1/2 step below the root of the Major Seventh for a nice Major Seventh #11 sound. In other words, for a C Major 7, use B Minor Pentatonic: notes B, D, E, F#, A, B.
