When i saw this on TV back in '06 i just stopped and stared at the screen. It was such a powerful combination of words and pictures. I don't know why i haven't been able to find it on youtube until now but i'm glad i finally did. Thanks for sharing!
@devolve42 Lol dumbass, that makes as much sense as me saying "We don't need food to live." I suggest you get the fuck out of here unless you want to get Trolled back to shits where you came because scum like you don't deserve to be in a video as good as this one.
remember seeing this ages ago and staying up for 12+ hrs just watch these movies back to back on cinemax and this commercial still gives me goosebumps.
this is beautiful ,when this came out I saw all the STAR WARS movies it was so cool ,my favorite part of this video is where luke closes in on the Death Star and you hear " lights will guide you home''
Of all the music ever written, ever...Coldplay is the best to pair with Star Was. Like...Obviously. DIAF John Williams...Coldplay is waaaaaaaaaaay better than you.
I think there were really good ideas in this video, but low skills. I like how the editor added the random screen audio. I thought that was a nice touch. But the clips didn't change with the lyrics or the beat enough to be a great video.
Lucas didn't cut this. It was edited for Cinemax at Creative Bubble in NYC. Lucasfilms did however love the cut and I believe licensed the music to post on their website.
The best thing Cinemax has done. Ever. One of the best Star Wars music vids on the internet. If you hate Star Wars & Coldplay here's two words you probably heard a few times. F*c* & You.
i remember one of my best friends showing me this clip, letting me know that his mate had done it as a tester to see if cinemax were interested... being told to keep it secret and not share the raw link, the buzz when George Lucas and Coldplay had cleared it and sanctioned the audio and video... and then knowing it was going to be aired all over the US... and at the time it was my tune of all tunes... Priceless! One of the most memorable times of my whole life living on this planet...
give it time, lucas might surprise us yet. i would love to see a movie of all the events that happened between 3 and 4 i.e. luke growing up and shit. only thing that annoys me, everytime i see luke now, i can see zac efron. i hate zac efron, but i reckon he'd make an alright luke skywalker...looks wise, not acting wise
I don't understand why people don't like this. Coldplay is a refuge for people who might not actually like hard rock and rap. You know, like actual music.
You people DO realize that the editing was not done by the guy who uploaded this, right? He SAYS it's a promo. Thanks for uploading and all, but I don't understand how all these people think you edited the scenes together. <_<
It is a promo. I saw it on Cinemax when they had the weekened long Star Wars movie marathon. The guy who uploaded this DID NOT make this, it was made by Cinemax....well maybe not them exactly, but you get what Im trying to say
I didn't like this video at first, but it has grown on me. The music actually matches up well; the theme of redemption - Anakin's fall and Luke's unyielding faith in the inherent and dormant goodness of his father - is complemented by song and its lyrics ("I will try to fix you").
yea i agree that 1:30 to 1:50 was cool. hey cablelabs ty so much for putting this video and btw the song goes nearly perfect w/ the video. the video brings back memories from my childhood and they are all good. watching this video could turn any depressed person that was a fun of the star wars sags cheerful again. ty again cablelabs
If you guys did not know, they will eventually make TV shows on Star Wars. Whether this is obvious to you, or you don't believe me I don't want to bother giving any links. Just do a little research. I know George Lucas expressed interest in some Star Wars TV series to say the least, but at the moment, no more movies =(.
well if someone wants to combine their loves (star wars and coldplay) then ok with me, but as a general rule star wars should be more sacredly revered.

Star Wars and Coldplay don't belong together. Lucas went against the grain in 1977 with a symphony orchestra instead of a disco track, so don't go pop now. I love the song, but it doesn't go with Star Wars.
