How have your lifters held up with this set up? I got the k12-771 kit with the 818 lifters and 977 springs and am getting gun shy about my lifters ruining my motor. This is my 2nd motor I've ever built and my first one only lasted 3 weeks and 9 runs. What lash are you running? The .016 .018 on the cam card?
She's just goregous, man. Simply goregous. That idle made my hair stand on end. Just one thing, if at all possible could you post a higher quality vid? I'd love to see that paint not so pixelated. Aside from that, just simply BADASS. chuck norris would envy this beast.
honestly buddy an 850 cfm carb is pobly bigger then u need on any 355 by about 80-100cfm. theres a mathmatical equation that i dont know but i do know a stock 350 can take no more then 615 cfm without runnin way to rich and then i just go off that. i run a q-jet 750 mechanical sec. on my 355 and its beautiful. im not sayin i know better so correct me if im wrong. just tryin to help. sounds beautiful tho. i read that in chevy hipo or super chevy by the way.
Absolutely correct, the 850 was too much running rich, just put a new 750 DB PMP on it, made a huge difference. I was think with the large valves, the ported heads etc it would handle the 850 but it was too much for street driving.
Beautiful, man. Just beautiful. That's exactly what I hope my baby sounds like when she's done.
Got a long way to go, but at least I have it running. Now if only my transmission weren't about to go out :-/
Mine is a 1971 Chevelle Malibu, but it only has a 307 in it. I guess my grandpa wasn't too concerned with power when he bought it new off the lot in 71, but at least he picked a Chevelle :-D
If you have any words of wisdom for a first fixup, I wouldn't mind it if you shot me a message :)
Hi I have 71 Malibu 350 crate all redone almost exactly like urs. 830 double pump too. Wait for jet kit to come in. What jet size did u use for primary and secondary jets? Any help appreciated!
Such an awesome sounding car! I am almost done building my 68 Camaro engine: 355, with the XR274r solid roller and other parts similar to yours. Im going with Borla XR-1's...hopefully it sounds as good as yours does!
did you ever think maybe he appreciates his car and doesn't feel like redlining it? it's not necessary, and any stock car can redline it, i floor my 3cyl Metro to the redline, you wanna see it?
Thanks for the comment, I think the hugger orange is awesome looking....seen many Chevelles that color. I always paint everything blue and went with the silver / white stripes on this one. I even painted my 1950 Panhead chopper a close blue to this as well. Its one of the other videos I have posted here on youtube
They are the summit racing Fully Welded Mufflers Muffler, Welded, 3 in. Inlet/ 3 in. Outlet, Steel, Aluminized. Part number SUM-633230 they cost $37.95 each. Not a bad muffler for the price and they keep the police happy.
I need to get a better intake myself. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered mine. I went with it because it looked cool and that is a dumb reason.
How do you like your Torker 2 intake? I have a Weiand X-celerator that is similar to your intake. Everybody told me to ditch mine because its old school and go out and buy an Edelbrock airgap.
The Torker 2 is truly outdated, I will be installing a Victor intake this winter. I actually loose Head runner flow due to the Torker runner ports being smaller requiring a larger intake gasket. Victor is the way to go with 210 runners on the aluminum heads. The Torker still works for street drive, but certainly loosing HP using it.
having rebuild my 1969ss chevelle i love ur car just this comment was more the tell dejcn to suck every chevy guys cock and we all be seening for whore for a wife soon ASS
