Well I'm not sure what they're telling you but I guaran-damn-tee you that I have never seen an innocent shot on purpose. That said there I have seen some mistakes. But when you have fresh kids right out of high school in a firefight, most are not ready for that kind of excitement and they can take wild shots at anyone they see simply because they cannot control the adrenaline and are scared out of their minds. When you have that combination, yes some mistakes will be made.
But like I said, never in both my tours have I ever seen an innocent purposely killed or have I ever seen an order from a commander to kill an innocent. In my seven years working around the military, I heard the phrase "You have a lot to learn" about seven thousand times. But they never had anything to teach. Just pointless fire drill after fire drill. It was all one huge beauracratic snowball of shoveling leads to disinterested recruiters, as the barriers between recruitment and harassment were often blurred. And now video games. Shameful. Poor.

The protesters must hope to find sympathetic event organizers and finance their own presence. Kind of impossible to have a kiosk at these kinds of things, when money is all that matters.
Really? I was in the military and a recruiter at one time. What "State mandated" policy are you talking about I never heard of such a policy? If they wanted to demonstrate against the war then demonstrate against the war not the military recruiters. Any group that demonstrates has the right to, but to do it without permission from a private property is subject to established laws. There are plenty of anti-military organizations that would love to fund groups like these.
Then you are probably aware of the military information sharing provisions of the "No Child Left Behind" legislation, which penalizes not only schools who are not military friendly, but also extends to penalize education-based private programs that do not open the books for military recruiters with the private information of minors participating in seminars and field trips. There may be plenty of organizations that would like to help IVAW, but they don't get tax dollars to actually help pay.

Buy stopping recruits you only hurt the Soldiers that are fighting. How would you like to be in a firefight knowing that there is only 2 guys covering your back when there should be 4. Child left behind policy, but there is also a clause that allows parents not to allow information to be given out and they can opt out. The policy was enacted to allow recruiters and ROTC on college campuses. The rational for it was if schools received federal funds then you have to allow the military to prospect for applicants. IVAW you have the right to demonstrate against the war, but you can't do it without the permission of private organization on their properties.

But there are certain jobs that are not entry level such as JAG. But Even with the assistant it can help one towards that goal. Becuase the one phrase that hurt job hunters is "experience needed".
That is a position where if you mess up it is some one's life and not to be taken lightly.

You'd really have to ask that question of silentsniper52. It's that soldier's term, not mine. In my seven years working around the military, I heard the phrase "You have a lot to learn" about seven thousand times. But they never had anything to teach. Just pointless fire drill after fire drill. It was all one huge beauracratic snowball of shoveling leads to disinterested recruiters, as the barriers between recruitment and harassment were often blurred. And now video games. Shameful. Poor.

Except that people often over look things. For example while I was over in Iraq I had the chance to help with medical aid, projects and supplies. So yes there is a lot of red tape but if you can get outside the bases and FOBs to have a chance to help people first hand then one comes back from the deployment with a sense of helping and making things better. So that is why I get upset at the idea that going over there was a waste of time.

Actually, your argument is fundamentally flawed. The pro-military presence is state mandated (meaning event organizers face penalties for rejecting the military's presence) and tax funded. The protesters must hope to find sympathetic event organizers and finance their own presence. Kind of impossible to have a kiosk at these kinds of things, when money is all that matters.

Really? I was in the military and a recruiter at one time. What "State mandated" policy are you talking about I never heard of such a policy? If they wanted to demonstrate against the war then demonstrate against the war not the military recruiters. Any group that demonstrates has the right to, but to do it without permission from a private property is subject to established laws. There are plenty of anti-military organizations that would love to fund groups like these.

Then you are probably aware of the military information sharing provisions of the "No Child Left Behind" legislation, which penalizes not only schools who are not military friendly, but also extends to penalize education-based private programs that do not open the books for military recruiters with the private information of minors participating in seminars and field trips. There may be plenty of organizations that would like to help IVAW, but they don't get tax dollars to actually help pay.
