  • a time to kill .... okay give me the gun

  • I listened to this waaaayyy back when it was new on my AM radio of course... during the Vietnam war...... truly a great meaningful song with words straight out of the Bible. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8..... King Solomon of Israel wrote it under the inspiration of God. King Solomon was endowed with great wisdom from the Lord. A very wise song indeed.

  • Ave Maria!

From the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate and Michael Voris of RealCatholicTV...

    Well @ least from me.

  • 1:47 what the hell

  • i love how literal the pictures are

  • I love this song it's been one of my favorites for a long time. The video is beautiful. Thank you for giving it the respect music like this deserves.

  • If there was ever a statement about the absolute potentiality of creative energy coming from OurYouth, surely this is an example~~~Blessings to You~~~YourEnergy is impacting the Universe.~^^^~^^^~

  • yore vid was shownin our school hall lol

  • One of the best songs ever written. Great job on this video.

  • Good job! I love this! Thank you for sharing. :)

  • a time to love, learn and to respect between each other.

  • lol 0:45

  • this song came out the year I was born...To this day they play it in movies...great song...It's timeless...

  • very brilliant video!

  • One of my all time favorites. GREAT JOB!

  • I listened to this on am radio in my 64 vw bug about 1970..

  • The time to hate picture is so sad to me:(

  • Wow! You did a great job combining the pictures with the lyrics! I like it! :) I think though that there is not a time to hate. It just happens because we refuse to devote more time to peace and spend too much time refraining from embracing. I guess the things that move me to anger are a lack of kindness in the way someone does something or acts towards others. Then I try to educate the person about kindness. Then there will be more peace in the world, for that person and others.

  • @LemursFriend Well put friend.

  • @TheDparker78 Thank you! :) Remember this song? "We are the world; we are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving. There's a choice we're making. We're saving our own lives. It's true we'll make a better day, just you and me."

  • Forrest Gump :D

  • Yes.

  • I just had to pause the video so I can right this right away. So far the video is giving me chills, great job, great fucking job.

  • Who's ready for a weird repeat of events from the 60's?

Imagine a next generation technology type apocalypse movie, the 60's and WW2 all rolled into one big event....

That's what we will be dealing with in the next few months...

  • @NubianNazi Wow! Seriously? Can't wait! Sounds like 'fun'.

  • @NubianNazi booo, booooooo, booooooooooooooo.

  • @snarfbot boo?

  • @NubianNazi lol ya boo, like imagine a crowd booing, thats the imagery that the boos were supposed to evoke.

  • This is my favorite Bible verse. Also, I don't know why, but the George Bush crack about John Kerry made me laugh. xD

  • @0413dec bible? the message in this song sounds more eastern to me.

  • @downwithjedward

Yet almost every word in this song is copied right out of the KJ Bible.

  • @0413dec no wait your right, ignore my stupidity

  • Great recording.

  • Just FYI, Iam an English Teacher and I am going to use your video with a Tale of Two Cities. It works perfectly!

  • This was played at my parents wedding, and then today at my dads funeral

  • @iamlimmy So sorry for your loss!!

  • Ok I don't know if i'm looking at this picture correctly but what in the world is 1:48!?!?!?!

  • absolutely wonderful, your creativity putting this together is amazing. I love the song and everything it stands for. Beautiful. :)

  • When I want to get depressed I read Ecclesiastes and also when I want to be happy. For there is a time for these things.

  • This idea for the song was amazing. We read this chapter in church and I suddenly realized that this was the lyrics to this song....I thought it was amazing.

  • my cat just came in he had a fight he has a gash on his lower chin, it could've been worse. I cleaned the area and steralized it hopefully my job will last to tommorow, i will know by then if it will be infected. I am done now............and this song came to mind, a time to heal and a time to soon come to cast stone's or to forgive.

    thanks for posting.

  • Nice New Holland at 0:36.

Not as good as a Fendt. But still easily the best US make of tractor.

  • Wonder Years!

  • @JackRabbitSlim He didn't write these lyrics. King Solomon did 3,000 years ago. ;)

  • Oh you can't leave religion out of this. I'm not religious but the Bible contains so much poetry and this is a very beautiful and moving passing.

  • lost the keys to the house then found them... and then I saw a cat chasing a bird. Long story short maybe i was a bit to quick to jump and there really is a time for everything.

    Ancient history now. Meowww!

  • Can we please leave religion out of this, religion divides people and engendours hate and mistrust and violence and blind sheep-like stupidity.

This song is just about pure musical talent and great song writing by Pete Seeger, epitomising an era of possibilities and hope that now seems to have died.

  • Well I'm a Christan. And I think this song is absolutely amazing.

  • Echo comments of last post., just what I felt.. Beautifully done video

  • Beautifully done video...with the perfect song I am going to feature it on my channel as the lead...

  • @theblkniga i pity you. if you ever need a hug. gimme a call.

  • Good work!!

  • This is timeless music,

Never again will the world be blessed with such music, never !!!

These guys didn't make a fortune by today's standards but they left something infinite.

Listening to this give me the chills.

    That good.......no, that great !!!

  • they use to play this song on the oldies station when i was a kid (im 23). Now all i hear is the eagles, zztop and zeppelin. What happened to the oldies??

  • I'm an atheist. And I think this song is absolutely amazing.

  • @ErwinERommel

I am an Atheist to and I love this

Just goes to show you don't have to be a Christian to appreciate the Bible.

Oh and sorry about El Alamein old boy.

  • @ErwinERommel Oh, you're so special.

I'm a human being, and I like this song.

  • @ErwinERommel who cares if your an Athiest LOL im a straight christian lmfao give me a badge.

  • @commando2224 It's not about whether I'm an atheist or not. It was a simple point that this song is so good it can break the barriers of religion, a force thats usually divisive and get someone who does not accept the lyrics and message of the song to still absolutely adore it.

  • @ErwinERommel well said Mr Rommel. (you magnificent bastard!) :)

  • @ErwinERommel Same here.

  • @ErwinERommel - Why would you being an atheist mean anything?

  • @searchprinceton Because the lyrics are from scripture, Ecclesiastes 3: 1-15

  • @searchprinceton The lyrics from this song are religious. My statement is meant to show that this song is so great that it shatters the religious barrior and can attract those from the other side of the argument.

  • Yeah I know the song is very inspirational

  • year?

  • @lolcat13243 :The song was adapted intirely from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible (with the exception of the last line)and put to music by Pete Seeger in 1959.Covered by the Byrds in late 1965.

  • We're doing "To Everything There is A Season" by Alistair MacLeod, and I just love how this song portrays the storyline as well as Ecclesiastes of course :)

    Great work guys! :)

  • in my music class in 5th grade they played this song to sing along and i had a great time

  • Wow! I've listened to this song my whole life and just now realized that they're singing Ecclesiastes 3:1-8!That's Awesome, just sing the Word of God and you get a #1 Hit!That's what I'm talkin' about! This rings true because it is THE Truth, the Word of God. :),To God Be The Glory, in Jesus' Name, Amen. :) God Loves YOU!! I know this to be True because He has poured His Love out in my heart. Where my heart was filled with hate; God has now filled with His Love. We all need His Love.

  • @stratomaster289 There can be no "word of god" because the one consciousness we are all from uses no words, words are the product of humanity to limit our otherwise infinite thought process. Just sayin :P Great song tho these words really do ring true even today.

  • really loved the compilation fo video clips - will come back to this

  • I might be wrong but wasn't Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton in this band together

  • @MrFisherman17 sigh... i believe you are thinking of the YARDbirds...

  • "1968. I was 12 years old. A lot happened that year; Denny McLain won 31 games, The Mod Squad hit the air, and I graduated from Hillcrest Elementary and entered Junior High School. But we'll get to that..."

  • 51 people don't know how to turn.

  • GO ECCLESIASTES!!!

  • @KOHAKU790 yep not many know the lyrics stem from the bible.

  • the song i want at my funeral :)

  • Listened to this song right after reading page 9 in the book Stand Like Mountain, Flow Like Water by Brian Luke Seaward, Ph.D for my spiritual health class. =)

  • i love this song. it makes me think of that scene in forrest gump when jenny leaves forrest again after reuniting in washington

  • super cheesy slideshow but a great song, thanks for putting it up

  • This song represents the 60's for me. Beautiful and Perfect and Sad.

  • how can you not like this

  • I remember this song from 10 th grade at Erasmus Hall H.S.. they were from England. One of my former erasmian Paul Simon and teamed up with this dude named Garfunkle. The cut was "Spound of Silence". Eve of Destruction by some other dude was like #1.

  • Oare s-au chinuit mult sa faca piesa asta=))????

  • I may be 21 and not alive when this first came out, but I think its due for a remake because this new generation is seeing so many changes.

  • @mickeykelly89 That's the problem with this generation (I'm 25), we remake things that should be left the way they were. This song is perfect and I highly doubt anyone could do it better.

  • well done... beautiful job

  • AMEN! AWESOME Video! Ecclesiastes 3 Is PURE Beauty & Poetry!

  • Pete Seeger was the one who adapted the verses to music and The Byrds covered it.

  • amazing song pulled from the bible... as timeless as the bible, thanks for the upload :)

  • Forrest Gump!

  • i love this song, and these bible verses im not sure what it means to you

but to me it means we have the right to fight for freedom peace and love

there is a time for everything and the time is NOW

  • Well done video-thank you for sharing!

  • My little dog of 14 years died last night, I could not find any comfort until my mother said it was Sugar's time. This song came to mind and I have sat here and listened to it over and over until my spirit has been consoled. There is a season for everything Run in heaven, Little Sugar and I loved you so much, Angel Dog.

  • @KaronCox1999 I'm So Sorry for your loss & GOD Bless U & Your Loving Mom! Keep listening to this song and more spiritual ones! He HEALS the Heart & Soul & Loves U MORE than U will ever Know!

  • this song is epic.

  • I like skipping rocks on the water make it jump. You did well with the pictures.

  • @rbiggie lol this is from the old test. You're a born again Jew! I love it!

  • random pictures accociating with words - brilliant idea there

  • i first heard this on cold case, been addicted to this ever since!

  • i'm too busy, don't have time to listen to this

    -America today

  • best part beginning :0 to :15

  • Perfect song, and played by the folk rock gods, and nice work on the video!

  • You don't have to worship a god to think this song is beautiful. To me, it just represents beauty in life in general, in the bad and the good.

  • All Pete Seeger did was set a passage from Ecclesiastes to music, and that's how the song was conceived. Naturally, he initially recorded it, followed by several folk singers and groups {Mary Hopkin recorded a lovely rendition featured on the flip side of her 1968 single, "Those Were the Days"}, and The Byrds turned it into a hit in late 1965.

  • protest songs rocks

  • they cover a lot of bob dylans songs, but they are good !

  • In the 60's already they made the most beautiful songs ever! Compare this to "Lady Gaga" or "Justin Bieber" or gangster rap!!??? It's like this was made in another universe, man! A much, much better universe! : )

  • things turn at 5.40? that clock is so annoying.

  • Cool video! Love the song.

  • this song makes me think of jenny

  • This song is actually from Sukkot

  • The words are from the Bible

  • this makes me laugh.

  • This sounds like some dreary shit Jim McGuinn thought would be a good idea to record.

  • @degree7 - You should try to see the overall message here - life has a measure of both good and bad things for us to experience, according to God's will in the Bible. To me, anyway, that is why I believe none of us can fully understand God, but we should fear Him as much as we love Him.

  • You put together a good video there.. congrats :)

  • they say that they dont make them like use to,that is the gods truth these guys

wrote and sang the prefect song at a start of a very bad time in the usa.

a classic , and the words ring true today and i swear its not to late peace and love

    from an old nam vet..

  • @leoretrosi you're not old man. Peace and Love, i'm not a religious fanatic but i do believe in God.

  • @leoretrosi Most of the words were written by King Solomon between 200 and 300 BC. The words come from the KJV Bible Book of Ecclesiastes. Bob Seeger added 6 words and wrote the music in 1959. Covered by the Byrds in 1965.

  • @EdnNC i know i just read the verse in church today and as soon as i got home i looked up what this song was called cause i relized it was the verse from the bible

  • A time for peace, I swear its not too late!

The Gospel accoding to Pete Seeger- a great way to end a perfect song!

  • ...a time for peace... I swear it's not too late

  • Really? Muslim ladies in tears and George Bush snickering? Please don't airbrush truth... Muslims don't want peace. they require infidels to die and their religion says that all that belongs to infidels is theirs. That is why they see no problem killing children. The stupidity and spin just makes people gag after a while even if it's set to a nice tune. You idiots hated George Bush and you embrace socialists dictators and barbarians as heroes. Boo thumbs down propoganda videos...

  • Excellent Video, very well done to an old song that brings good memories. Thank you, I hope you got a good grade, you deserved it!

  • lol at the clock XD

  • Wake up people," the GoodShepard84'....

  • great video

  • All of the 60's had some powerful music

  • Love this.... this is my breakup song to keep me happy through bad times. The temporality of things...

  • Beautiful! I hope you don't mind if I post it.

  • Wonderful!!

  • It's not too late.:)

  • Very Cool...hope you got an 'A'. :)

  • love this cause its one my favorite from the bible.

  • Beautiful!

  • The sound of Byrds meets Donovan 2011:

Michael Moeller - Where the wind blows

    Its just wonderfull!

  • one of my favorite songs made from Ecclesiastes, and it actually is a good translation from the original hebrew

  • Great video

  • I am so high, took a magical journey through time and space back to the 60's. Yes!.

  • @mandazeepanda
