  • @FTWproduction1 If that person's phone is more important than the movie, maybe they should step outside and check their e-mails, texts their friends, etc. I'm not sure you'd be thrilled to have the person in front of you talking on the phone either, even if it is about "real life".

  • @BrandonCerelius može li kućni osobni broj prefix i matica ok...

  • Why is everyone so bitchy about people checking their phone?! Google Voice makes it less disruptive as if a person was listening to their voice mail so chill out..

  • Say I don't like this google voice, can I switch back to my default voicemail system?

  • Please don't encourage cell phone users to use cell phones AT ALL while at the movies or in a meeting. That's completely RUDE behavior that needs to be discouraged strongly. I don't pay $9 for a movie ticket to have some jerk in front of me basically shine a flashlight in my eyes or listen to/read somebody else's conversation. Also, people in meetings spent a lot of time to coherently put together their information. The least you could do is show them a little courtesy and respect and listen.

  • Wow! What a great new way to gather even more personal data!

Google will "automatically transcribe" and index all my private conversations for ever..

    Transcription Privacy Policy:

"Google's computers process the information in your messages for various purposes, including formatting and displaying the information to you, delivering related links, backing up your messages, and other purposes relating to offering you Google Voice."

Where is the OFF switch for that transcribition feature?

  • @miklog Off switch. Just for you. ;) (Pulled from Google's help article)

If you want to disable voicemail transcriptions, follow these steps:

    1. Click Settings at the top-right of any Google Voice page.

    2. Deselect the 'Transcribe Voicemails' option in the Voicemail & SMS tab.

    3. Click Save Changes.

  • @lozerette thnx:)

  • @lozerette damn! there is no Voicemail & SMS tab, just billing and account

  • @miklog If there's no "Voicemail & Text" tab (looked at mine, that's how it's listed), then you probably don't have Google Voice turned on for your mobile number.

  • Google is just awesome. LOL at 0:10 when they forgot question mark.

  • Ahh God! I hate Josh so much! That is why I blocked him.

  • whoever is complaining about not using your phone in the theatre please stop, youre missing the point. this is something amazing that google is offering for free so you should be thankful...i use google voice every day and i love it.

would you rather people be talking/listening to their phones in the theatre?

  • This is also useful for Deaf people who cannot access the messages that are left in their voicebox. Great work!

  • * No mom* Im eating Chips

  • Thank you Google for starting to develop this. I am 65 years old and hard to hearing, can't afford hearing aids and Medicare or Insurance won't cover them.

I often have trouble understanding voice messages, I am hoping this is going to help.

So, it's not just for dumb asses that are too lazy to do anything.

  • Did anyone else notice that the computer drawing is of a Macbook Pro, but it uses a Windows keyboard for the typing and clicking sounds.

  • 將中文語音轉成文字看來是比較困難吧?

  • You'll get kicked out of the movies if your screwing around with your phone. That bright light is just as distracting as someone talking loudly during the film.

  • @BrandonCerelius And then there's those of use who don't have ADD

  • @BrandonCerelius Yah maybe if you have ADHD. You people obviously don't understand that sometimes real life is a little more important than a movie, especially if they are just glancing at it in their lap.

  • @BrandonCerelius If you've ever used an Android phone with an AMLOED screen, the blacks are completely black. Not bright at all, the pixels emit no light. 100% dark. You can't annoy anyone with a pixel emitting NO light at all. Turn down the brightness, and bam, everything else is dark too.

  • @BrandonCerelius Youre supposed to be watching the movie not reading the texts on my phone. Thats why I dimmed the screen in the first place.

  • @BrandonCerelius But fi you have brightness on minimum, it is much less annoying.

  • @BrandonCerelius Except if you're sitting in the back

  • @BrandonCerelius Or you could just turn your brightness level all the way down.

  • @BrandonCerelius not true, you can easily decrease the brightness of the screen, and it's not nearly annoying as talking or even whispering.

  • @BrandonCerelius

I disagree, if the dimness is all the way down and you hold your phone fairly low no one will notice that your checking your phone. My colleagues and I do it quiet frequently, I have never been bothered by it. However, if you receive a message then stand up and proclaim "Great Scott!" and shuffle about the theater in a frantic rush to return to 1955... well that's a different story.

  • "This is useful for if you have nothing and even for someone dies".

  • try this video whith transcription.

transcriptions are perfect the we hope they`re good enough to save you from the scene to the message are continually working on and giving them.

    LOL

  • Please don't tell users that it's okay to use their phones to read messages at the theatres - it's not. Theatres prohibit it and it irritates everyone around them.

  • @ashj1 Sometimes you need to know what the voicemail said and most of the time, you're not going to get up and leave to see that. This is useful in my opinion.

  • @ashj1 why would the person staring at their 3-4 inch screen in silence irritate people who are supposed to be staring at a 30-40 foot screen anyways. Theaters are concerned with loud ring-tones and the people that actually answer in the theater. PLEASE, DON'T SPOIL THE MOVIE BY ADDING YOUR OWN SOUNDTRACK, not PLEASE DON'T SPOIL THE MOVIE BY LOOKING AT YOUR PHONE. Lol sorry its just pretty annoying when people try to bite a good thing

  • @thomasabin ha i know

  • @thomasabin Please don't spoil your digestive system with the popcorn into which the cockroaches laid their eggs.

  • @GregSidelnikov dawg are you high

  • @ashj1 who cares

  • @ashj1 Are we really that petty in the movies? Seriously?

  • @ashj1 lol

  • id do it to people but only ever slur my words just so they wasted their money on some STUPID fuckin app....

  • @MrHeavyMetalx ITS FREE DUMBO!!!!!!! IVE had it since it was closed to the public and in beta. Yea wasting ......what? Yea thats what a thought dont comment anymore anywhere until you know what the heck your complaining about.

  • @xtremeviper02 meh.. this is just another app for lazy fuckers who would rather have a program do it for them than to actually do anything themselves. thanks for you feedback, tho.

  • LOL! i used the youtube transcribing thing and when it said "at a meeting" it came up as "when someone dies" ROFLCOPTER

  • It looks like Google Voice tries to transcribe Russian Voice into English text. Resulting transcriptions are quite funny.

I wonder if it is possible to automatically recognize a language of voicemail and to transcribe it correctly.

  • Can you block all anonymous calls (no call-id)?

Can you make a call from a computer, bowser (pc client)?

  • HAI HONEY R U EATING HEALTY?

  • kuss

  • Google, please allow end users to correct the often very inaccurate transcriptions. Like "voice training" on cell phones or voice recognition software on my computer - you could (I would argue should) be using the power of your end users to improve your voice transcriptions. Give us a "drop-down" menu of questionable words - like your spell check in wave - and allow us to improve the accuracy of transcriptions. We (the end user) have the most to gain by improving the service - no cost to Google.

  • Do you know if you record the entire conversation such as a 45 minute interview?

  • GOOGLE VOICE OUTSIDE US???

  • Does Google voice work in any country? Or is it US-only, or for select countries?.
