This is the best ad of this primary season. I hope he keeps bringin' it. I have no desire to vote for the other two clowns and a third party vote is a vote wasted when viewed against the consequence of four more years of war.
Awesome! This is what every politician should be saying!
If you want to pay less for gasoline, the ONLY solution is to drive more economic, fuel efficient cars. The big manufacturers are already producing big, comfortable cars which can do 70 miles to the gallon. Why the hell isn't our Government doing more to force them to raise this figure and to make sure that all of their vehicles are this good?
Good ad from the Obama campaign. I'm not surprised that Hillary is all aboard with this issue, but McCain, frankly, should know better than to stoop this low. Of course, it WAS his party that had the hare-brained idea of sending every American $100 as a "gas rebate" a summer or two ago. I'm surprised Obama hasn't referred back to that either.
He needs a harder hitting ad. The Clinton Gas proposal is a gift to the oil companies the gas tax holiday won't cut the price of gas. It will stay where it is because demand is high and the 18 cents will go to the oil companies now while Hillary's windfall profit tax on the oil companies won't take effect for 10 years. In the meantime 300,000 road workers will be put out of work from the lost funding of the gas tax. Hillary Clinton, good for big oil, bad for road workers.
Please note that . Joe Andrew say's it PERFECT!!!I am 41, catholic, first time voter because of Obama's inspiration. If he is not on the ballot in November I and my family will not vote for Hillary...not trusted at all here...Thank you, Rhonda
Al Jazeera cameraman Sami al-Hajj has hit out at the US treatment of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay military prison where he was held for nearly six and a half years.
Saying that "rats are treated with more humanity", al-Hajj said inmates' "human dignity was violated".
- Ad 1- Show Us Iraq, the bombings...insert Bush, McCain next and Hillary last...insert bold inscription. "THEY GOT US IN HERE"...WASHINGTON CAN'T TAKE US OUT OF THIS QUAGMIRE
-AD 2- Show us the Minnessota Bridge that fell...insert wailing children and mothers....add voice over: " John McCain and Hillary say we need less money to build our infrastructure; they propose gutting the highway fund".-Insert Barack Image: "Barack knows this is no fix- it is gimmick
I like your add busangax and I am sure it works but to my surprise he does not want to do it. These kind of ad are what really works in our politics. However, I feel good he is above all the negative stuff.
I like your ideas, especially the one on Iraq, which it seems many have forgotten, but some of your ideas sound a bit like alarmist tactics. Drop the wailing children and mothers... I don't want to be reminded of their death, just of the lack of infrastructure that caused them. Just present the facts.
God bless obama, he rocks , he gives us hope and i aint american but a scotsman, he is fit to be the leader of the world coz he is just and honest and brilliant
I hope this ad actually opens up the eyes of voters in the two primaries coming up. We ne Obama in the White House but we can't do it when all we can do is fight Hillary once again for the nomination. It's already evident that he's gonna win it so lets get this over with and lets get him campaigning for the general election and lets pull this party together.
it's nice to see a politician not pandering. a 'gas tax holiday' would be marginal for individuals but a nice big break to the oil companies (don't expect the gas price to actually drop). if you cannot afford to fill your tank, try to fix the problem: buy a smaller car, take the bus, bike, or walk. and no, i don't own a car and i get around just fine. as suggested in the ad, higher mileage standards are crucial to actually start solving this problem.
See how uplifting this AD is. You dont see people in any of Hillary's Ads,I wonder if she plans to govern ppl at all. BTW anyone has any idea what she is planning on dropping this time around,Hiroshima or something?
I think this is a large tactical error on Clinton and McCain's part. But I doubt it will be affectionately called "gas-gate" by the media or flagged as representative of a divide in viewpoints. Will the focus on flag pins and petty issues continue?
even if he does win that doesnt mean it will be presto changeo good, who's to say it wont make things worse then they are now?
and dont bring up the troops because common sense is that if they were to leave Iraq, the Iraqis will come over here and this time blow our *sses up for real- courtesy of Bush
yes this is correct I dont know why hillary and mccain keeps talking about this short quick fix we save what 20 damn,I quess Ill save It for the next time I need gas ...1
Awesome ad, you got me since "I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message"
I mean, Obama is the best and most honest candidate, he has proven it. His answer to the raising gas prices seems the most effective and economists and experts agree, maybe is not the most popular answer but it's the best one.
There is no reason reducing the taxes will lower gas prices anyway. The prices are set by the oil companies so they maximize their profits. If taxes go down, it makes business sense to compensate by raising their price so the total remains the same.
One more example of how Obama will tell the truth, while others spin and spin to get elected. We have challenges before us. I want a President who will LEAD and not spin easy answers.
should be interesting to see what people say about this.
The money from the gas tax goes into a trust that is dedicated to building the federal highway system. Safety issues about crumbling infrastructure already cause problems for some communities.
Cutting gas taxes would increase demand which would then increase the cost. If anyone thinks that oil companies will reduce the price of gas by the drop in the gas tax, I know a fine bridge you can purchase from me. Barely used.
This ad really strikes the right tone for this time in the campaign. It's honest and simple, but it drops a big hammer on both McCain and Hillary. I hope the campaign uses this same style for a whole series of ads.
I just want to send my POSITIVE thoughts and prayers his way. I made my first-ever monetary contribution to a political candidate -- Obama. He has a vision that so
surpasses Clinton or McCain that, I believe,
he is SCARING his oponents!!!! I think that
is why such an honest, humble, intelligent,
man is being SO ATTACKED. TALK UP THE FACT YOU WERE AGAINST THE INVASION OF IRAQ!!
I love it. I've been saying for weeks that the oil policy that McCain and Clinton are proposes makes no sense and shows complete ignorance of how economics works. Obama keeps giving me reasons to want to vote for him.
It was pretty unbelievable that Hillary Clinton followed suit with John McCain on this issue. Thank you, Senator Obama, for proposing some real solutions. I hope many voters get to see this ad.
