The SEC is the BEST and TOUGHEST conference in college football..all the other conference teams have one or two teams that are good but our entire roster is damn good...except vandy
I don't believe it. UTenn, Crompton, kickers. Well eventhough Alabama has squeeked past Tennessee at least it shows that Alabama is not all that a #1 ranked team is supposed to be. Which is all I've been trying to say. They maybe number one, but they are not the best, and on top of it all they are better than Florida.
I really don't understand this commercial. Its like espn has stopped trying with it comes to college gameday commercials. The acting is horrible and what makes this so funny? honestly, not trying to be a dick...
too bad UF only has 3 such rings total. which, to Gators may sound like alot. but then, they havent even EVER had an undefeated season ! nor enjoyed back to back titles like true upper echelon programs have (several times, no less).
How gay is that comment? They play in the SEC it's hard to win down there. Some of those schools your talking about mostly plays teams like Iowa Northwestern Community State Special Ed College like the Big 8 seems to pull off a lot in the 80's.
Are u talking about those numerous shared titles awarded by newspapers to echelon programs by your own definition? Do they even give the rings to the school? I will take three actual recent NCs to those garbage champion titles awarded to threee teams every year. If you talking about the history, Harvard must be the best football school right?
floridas in an elite conference, maybe you heard of 'em, sec, and please tell me your not a usc, ohio state, or oklahoma fan, cause if you are im just gonna laugh
I know what I'm talking about. Read Wetzel's latest column on yahoo sports called BCS Intelligence. The supposed top programs are gambling weak schedules against the computers. You can repeat yourself until you're blue in the face, but it won't change the facts or my opinion.
i don't need to read any columns to know that the top two teams in the nation are SEC. so, i guess to rephrase what you just said: "you can read all the columns you want, but it doesn't change the REAL fact that Florida is #1, and Alabama is #2
What a pair of #1 and #2 Florida and Alabama make. They both scheduled a 1AA team in Charleston Southern and Chattanooga. Neither one of them even finished in last years top 25 of 1AA programs. Florida has three perennial tomato cans in Vanderbilt, Florida International, and Troy. Alabama has FIU and North Texas. Urban Meyer is proud to admit he takes advantage of the system's flaws by playing scrubs.
well you know what? if we played in a pussy conference like the Big East or Big 10 then we wouldn't have to schedule easier teams. also, if you don't like the way the system works, then stick to watching games on sunday and save us the bitching and moaning
You win, I bow to your BCS gamesmanship. By the way, the Big 10, "pussy conference" (according to you) was your opponent for the past three BCS championship games, which (according to you) makes your conference "elite". I guess its just a difference of opinion. To each his own. I like gritty competition like you find in the NFL Post Season, MLB World Series, and NBA Finals, and you like the video arcade type high scores you find at the Pro Bowl, Home Run Derby, and the Slam Dunk Contest.
the past 3 BCS championships? lets see... WRONG. 2006 - Ohio State (Big 10), 2007 - Ohio State (Big 10), 2008 - Oklahoma - Big 12. and at least the Big 12 conference is respectable, but as for the Big 10 playing against an SEC team in the championship: i guess they had to run into a brickwall eventually right? and fine, go watch your NFL and NBA. i just prefer the beauty of players playing for the pride of their school, rather than the name on the back of their jersey... very easy choice for me
Haha WRONG. Ohio State played for it in 2006 and 2007, and what did they do? LOSE! And to who? LSU and Florida, 2 SEC schools as I remember. And who did the pride of the Big 10 Conference just lose to? The mighty..... PURDUE!
Ohio State was ranked #1 for both of those championship games. Obviously they weren't a worthy number one when they played Florida. Why is that? Because the BCS system rewards teams that schedule cake walks with a bid to the title. Now Florida is doing the exact same thing. If you don't understand that I'm not dissing your conference, then I have nothing more to say.
@pansextra Ohio State played Texas and Cincinatti in the non conference schedule the year they played Florida. I don't think that qualifies as scheduling cakewalks. Besides, who else would they put in the national championship? Ohio State (besides Boise State) was the only undefeated team in college football that year.
Note that I am a Florida fan and I am standing up for Ohio State. That should tell you how crooked your argument is.
@UFfan85 Yes, but you forgot Northern Illinios and Bowling Green in the OOC. When you play in the Big Ten you have a 3 game schedule every year. Sad but true facts.
ESPN is in Bristol, Connecticut. Urban Meyer works in Gainesville, Florida. Why they hell did they film this in McCarthy Quad at USC in Los Angeles???

@TheMrTide Why do you love Florida so much? Is it the fact there the only team that has put Alabama in there place before!
1993 Florida 28 Alabama 13
1994 Florida 24 Alabama 23
1996 Florida 45 Alabama 30
2008 Florida 31 Alabama 20
Damn right Florida is 4-3 in SEC Championship games with Alabama.
Name another team that has a winning record over Alabama?
