I get that it may be BP's fault that there is oil leaking into the Gulf, but I dont agree with them getting all the blame. It was an accident, people died in the explosion, and obviously no one meant for it to happen. I dont understand why the US Government is refusing to help in clean up effort. The oil is affecting American land, after all. Pointing the finger of blame is going to get this crisis no where.

The current LMRP Cap is not working. Two thirds of the oil is still escaping into the Gulf. The sooner we recognize the failure the sooner we can move on to a better solution. B.P is 39% American owned and 40% British owned. It employs only 10,000 British in comparison to 22,000 Americans. 6 of the directors are British, 6 American. BP has 9 times the number of stations in U.S.A than Britain. It has 5 refineries in America compared with none in Britain. Deepwater Horizon is an American rig staffed by Americans and the failed well head was American made. B.P no longer stands for British Petroleum since 2000 when it merged with Amoco and Arco.
This ain't no tanker it's the whole well bleeding into the gulf, they have to reattach and suck that well dry very quickly. Large undertaking and big bucks is what it will take and re-open the other two wells. The pressure may be pushing more out! Keep developing concepts and post elsewhere: Upper rock layers will leak, pinched pipe (brittle) will break, BOP embedment (stress cracked) can't stop 6,200 psi oil. Plug at impermeable layer by 300 lb steel ball on cable (get BOP out of way) and stack 3000 feet of more balls and chopped cold-rolled (15 inch diagonal), detonate lower balls (debris makers). Weight will hold against pressure rise at plug, no rise at sea bottom.

The oil isn't just killing animals. It is putting thousands of people out of work and contaminating a great source of seafood. I personally live in Louisiana and I find it insane that they haven't put more effort into learning how to fix this sort of thing. Why the underwater oil rigs were not being maintained properly is beyond me.
@purplepinkpillow if we drilled in shallow water this would have been fixed along time ago. the depth is way too dangerous and this depth was to keep them from drilling for oil. obama reversed the bans for it too recently. no more deep water drilling. shallow's ok again !

gushing out this dam pipe, they seal this fiber glass thing up with a man made cover like on a sewage hole or man hole cover, have small holds on it were you can open and close it like on a bar-be- cue- grill get it, i know the pipe is the size of one of those double size rubber maid trash can's we can't wait until dam July for B.P. too try to suck and grab all the left over oil they can. They have exhausted me I am dam sick and dam double sick of this rusty gritty mess do something!!

The current LMRP Cap is not working. Two thirds of the oil is still escaping into the Gulf. The sooner we recognize the failure the sooner we can move on to a better solution. There should be dozens of LMRP Cap designs in process with the best designs being candidates for consideration as a replacement. I can’t understand why we are waiting. BP has 9 times the number of stations in U.S.A than Britain. It has 5 refineries in America compared with none in Britain. Deepwater Horizon is an American rig staffed by Americans and the failed well head was American made. B.P no longer stands for British Petroleum since 2000 when it merged with Amoco and Arco.

Keep developing concepts and post elsewhere: Upper rock layers will leak, pinched pipe (brittle) will break, BOP embedment (stress cracked) can't stop 6,200 psi oil. Plug at impermeable layer by 300 lb steel ball on cable (get BOP out of way) and stack 3000 feet of more balls and chopped cold-rolled (15 inch diagonal), detonate lower balls (debris makers). Weight will hold against pressure rise at plug, no rise at sea bottom.

@1sababoy the reason why this cant be fixed is because the govt pushed them to drill in deep water to prevent them from drilling in the sea. if we kept them drilling in the shallow water, this would have been fixed a whole long time ago. micho caku even said it. and obama reversed the bans around for it. no. we need oil !

The oil isn't just killing animals. It is putting thousands of people out of work and contaminating a great source of seafood. I personally live in Louisiana and I find it insane that they haven't put more effort into learning how to fix this sort of thing. Why the underwater oil rigs were not being maintained properly is beyond me.

@purplepinkpillow if we drilled in shallow water this would have been fixed along time ago. the depth is way too dangerous and this depth was to keep them from drilling for oil. obama reversed the bans for it too recently. no more deep water drilling. shallow's ok again !
