Just so you know, when I updated the Web OS and it wiped the cminstall folder off my HP Touchpad. I followed the vid for reinstalling and it worked just fine-and got everything I had set up on the Android side back, even the wallpaper.

@chiknblak It means that there was no cminstall directory found. You don't have a cminstall folder on the root of your touchpad.

So I installed CM7 about 2 weeks ago and was working fine, then yesterday I went to use it and the screen is black and I can not get it to restart (turn on). I have tried holding down the home and power button for 30/60 seconds and nothing happens. Anybody have any ideas as to what to do? BTW, I installed 3.5.

Just installed CM7 Apha ver 3.5. All according to your awesome video... HP has dual booted both the webOS and Cyanogen perfectly, I overclocked the CPU to 1.5 and works gr8 and FAST, A lot faster than my iPad! Thanks SO MUCH!

I tried from every video/source, first it was half way done, until it's stop in the middle while scrolling all the codes, I start over nothing change, then I root and start over by re-install all the files, but by the time I type novacom boot mem:\\ < ACMEInstaller... How are you. I just got here :) My first setup was using the new mod7 Alpha 3. Everything is working beautiful but I can get the boot ClockworkMod installed. I can see the files inside the touchpad and inside the cm folder but if I end doing any reboot the option to reboot from ClockworkMod is not there. Can you please help me out? Thank You. OK, boys and girls, it's quite clear that this video is a bit old. His video on how to "root" (but not really) the HP touch pad was much more informative as installing Preware pretty much takes care of the novacom drivers. (At least it did with my computer, running ubuntu.) The WebOSQuickInstall program does that.

Question for you Rev., install of Deon went through fine only issue was that TWRP zip file was placed in cminstall folder but never installed. So now I have a webos recovery line in moboot. Can it just be installed using ACME or do I have to uninstall everything and start over. Thanks again for such great work.

Great tutorial-thanks. I had been wanting to do this for some time but reservations kept me from proceeding. All the other guides were not very clear about how to go about doing it. I have one issue and that is: the TP will not shutdown; the screen turns off after I select shutdown but the TP continues to run. I'll head over to the forum and see if I can find a solution. I am on 3.0.4 not 3.0.2 webOS... do I need to do anything differently?

Also, I have meboot 0.3.5 not 0.3.3 will that make a difference?

@sickshadow123 ok i had that happen to and it was my computer had not installed the driver for hp touch, so what i did is i did a full erase on the touchpad and then install the driver for hp on my computer (which it will do auto when it see it) and then install cminstall again, went in like a charm.

@SemperAmoreTui That's a prefetch file. That's definitely not it. You need to go into control panel, uninstall novacom, uninstall any PALM or WEBOS SDK apps you may have installed, reinstall novacom, and try again. The folder is called "Palm, Inc" if you follow my instructions. Again, if you have ANY other Palm software installed, get rid of it first.

Great vids Rev, but still no cigar for me yet. After novacom, tablet stay at usb symbol with no change to double penguin. Correct files are in the palm, inc dir. and in root of tablet. I Believe and know it will happen, any suggestions. Thanks again for super and simple instructions.

@vicervin You either have a bad USB cable, or your PC isn't pushing enough power to the USB port. Try a different cable, and also try unplugging any other USB devices from your computer and reboot it. Hopefully that gives better results.

@BarbieBillionaire Do a search on your system for the file "novacom.exe". Wherever novacom.exe is, THAT is what you have instead of a Palm, Inc folder. Sometimes, people have other programs already installed on their computer that can prevent novacom from being installed into it's default location. Find the file, use THAT directory instead.

for some reason my install on a different folder so on the dos is had to enter this command "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP webOS\SDK\bin novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller"  might have been an update or a change of the novacom software from hp. Just make sure the acmeinstaller is on that folder

Thank you for the video tutorial. Ran into a problem with novacom and coming up with a "cannot connect to server" issue in CMD prompt. However, rectified the problem by uninstalling novacom and reinstalling universal novacom jar. Thanks for your help. As a side note and of interest to others, I completed the mod on Windows XP 32 bit.

If your touchpad gets stuck at anytime at one screen...Start everything all over... Follow EVERYTHING and it will work. Got it to work and im using the Alapha 3.5 and its amazing!!! And i love how i can go back and fowarth between OSs BUT YEAH if it gets stuck press Home, Lock, and the Volume Buttons (BOTH UP AND DOWN) for EXACTLYY 10 seconds no longer and no less. I think it also has to be plugged into the computer when you do it. Hope that helps good luck hacking guys :)
