  • Wow you guy are dicks I hope you burn

  • @ clofs that's a little racist. Be more respectful

  • I LOVE CREEP!!!! LET'S GO BLOOOOOOO!!!

  • looks like 2 people here marched pioneer

  • 3:48 its alllllways the black girl that drops the flag/gun...

  • black girl

  • These guys shit magnificence.

  • Oh crap THERE'S the rest of the band. Haha I was wondering...

  • A want to be a part of this corps very badly (:

  • @enigmasleeps The Pit may be gigantic but the hornline is also incredibly loud. By its very nature, horns played at max capacity will easily block out the pit instruments. So to get a stronger effect of the pit, they need mics in order for the audience to even hear it. This is also why the snares have resonators

  • what is this main theme song called at the beginning

  • @knifenewbie456 creep.. by radiohead

  • i really like the choreography at 5:09

  • we should hunt down, and smack the people who disliked this video...

  • @FindThisHeart, how about being on the field Finals Night? Sorry to challenge. Haha

  • Do the coats use straight leg or bent leg marching style?

  • @matt101194 Bent leg

  • @RockstarDaniel

...It's SUPPOSED to be straight leg...

  • @FindThisHeart o_O really? Doesnt look like straight leg at all.

  • @RockstarDaniel

Let me rephrase that. The instructional staff TAUGHT straight leg technique. What you see in this video is the not-achieving of that.

  • @FindThisHeart Well i mean there are technique problems in this video but every video of the coats ive seen they march with a slight bent leg. :p

  • @RockstarDaniel

I was on the field in this video. My statement stands.

  • @RockstarDaniel

As he said, it is supposed to be straight leg; however, it is not supposed to be absolute straight leg.

There is a certain amount of bend that is supposed to happen in the Ron Hardin, Bluecoats, technique.

This video is also quite early in the season and the level of marching is very low compared to late in the season.

  • Bluecoats making sexy time ;D

  • That low brass sounds like sex. So. Damn. Good.

  • in the tunnels before the New Meadowlands Stadium show, The Bluecoats were about to go on and the drum major turns and looks back at the corps and shouts, "BLUECOATS, TONIGHT WE ARE THE ONLY GIANTS IN THIS STADIUM. LETS GO BLOO!!!"

    It was pretty coo.

  • Your crazy! have you ever heard a DCI show without pit! It sounds plain.

  • @enigmasleeps I bet all those individuals in the front ensemble who busted their hands and hearts to work this music for months would love to hear that you don't think they should exist as players. That there should only be "one or two." Get over yourself and your close-minded ideas. I know a crap ton of people who listen intently to the "bells" (the marimbas, vibes, synth, concert bass, crotales, etc.). It's so much more complicated than you give it credit for. Fix that.

  • Woah iim getting all these thumbs up, just for saying, WE. BLEED. BLOO.

  • the lead baris flutter tounge gives me chills everytime

  • @enigmasleeps Think about this, the brass use directional instruments where the sound is focused in one direction, the pit's just like woodwinds sound goes in every which direction so if the pit was not mic.d there would be no chance of hearing it especially in large stadiums like lucas oil which from the field was even hell to hear things. not to mention with a soft mallet choice you would just hear a mush of nots and no note articulation.

  • 8:44 - 9:19 best part EVAR!

  • incredible show. im in the marian catholic high school band and we played deus ex machina in our show last year. a truly incredible piece

  • I want to be apart of this one day. The Bluecoats are fantastic and they always have a great contra section.

  • 10:15 Classic Bluecoats riff. AWESOME!!!!

  • @BlueByYou2000 Kinda, it's written in the original concerto its based on.

  • 9:12 contras for.the.win. :D

  • I want to be a Bluecoat more than anything!

  • dem baritones at 10:55

    sex in my ear

  • @enigmasleeps my high school drumline has a pit roughly the size of the bluecoats (its huge I know) and we put mics on our marimbas and vibes to help with the balance. I'm not sure of all of the details behind that, but it is necessary.

  • 2 dislikes !? really !? BLOOOOOOOOOO!

  • All corps seem to be going with 9 snares this year. Can't argue, it's a good number.

  • @WelcomeBunnie Bluecoats have 10.

  • @enigmasleeps Well horns have bells which can be face towards the audience/judges, Battery is just loud as fuck. And pit can be loud but all of their instruments are directed down at the ground. I saw a battery consisting of just 4 snares two tenors and 5 bass drums drown out a HUGE pit.

  • Amazing Visuals!

    Just Amazing! :)

    Go Mac! :)

We miss youu! Hurry up and win already! :)

    GO TRUMPETS! :DD

  • i got to see them yesterday!:) it was so amazing!!

  • i like the show without the "what the hell am I doing here?"

  • great end with the trombone concerto by mackey :P

  • @enigmasleeps tympanis is an incorrect noun, just a heads up, tympano is singular, tympani or timpani is the plural term...

  • @Motowndrummer i've never seen it spelled with a y.. :/

  • @actucker One valve, two valves, ten valves, a horn is a horn is a horn. People keep making that dumb argument about evolving as you did and it's BS. It's the electronics, GET IT?. They and anything associated with them don't belong in drum and bugle corps. Today's musical groups are DCINO, drum corps in name only. You'll never really know the pleasure.

  • @larryandyoly @larryandyoly i suppose you think we shouldnt have pitched bass drums or multi-tom tenor drums either, i mean the only way for dci to be good is if its how it was when it started right? we should also go back to snares with mylar heads because definition is bad. guard should go too, i mean all we should really have is horns right? then we can know the pleasure.

  • @enigmasleeps Then I'll reiterate my original statement. You don't like modern drum corps. Front ensembles are a part of the sound now. Its an evolving activity. There were people who said that valves didn't belong in drum corps, and that Bb wasn't drum corps. That didn't keep drum corps from becoming exactly that. Some people won't like it. It seems as though you are one of those people. There's nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't mean that the amps aren't necessary for that sound.

  • Last movement is from John mackey's trombone concerto called harvest

  • @enigmasleeps I'm glad you've been a fan that long, but if you really think they could get the same musical effect from 1 or 2 mallet instruments, then you don't pay any attention to what these kids are playing these days. There is absolutely a need for each instrument out there. For one thing, the idea is to get as much accoustic sound as possible, and only amplify enough to compete. For another thing, there are more parts going on than 2 people could cover.

  • @enigmasleeps Wow. You don't speak sarcasm do you? You can't possibly believe that front ensembles were too loud even before amplification. If you do, then you just don't like drum corps, because the intention of the grounded pit was to add a new equal voice to the ensemble. Amplification finally allows that.

  • @enigmasleeps Hmmmm. 9 non directional marimbas and vibraphones competing with 70-80 directional brass instruments. No, I can't see how they might need amplification at all.

  • man that show was amazing im cheering for the bluecoats to win it all this year

  • gosh I love creep and I feel the Bluecoats did an awesome job of it! I wish I could see this whole show live.

  • Can't wait

  • 2 people are not ready to rock with the bluecoats.

  • Comment removed

  • my goodness... snaaaarrreeess!!

  • entertaining. i'm ready to see more though. it's starting to get to the time where those few corps shine and the others begin to lack behind. come on bluecoats. <3 bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I really like this show.. it's very entertaining and fun to listen to.

  • I am very disappointed, this is not the Bluecoats that I know and love.

  • wow, really entertaining, but the drill is pretty sloppy but i think this is a show maximizing on bluecoat's strong suit. because, as we all know, asphalt cocktail was by far the best movment in last year's show. they just merely put that style into the whole show this year and it looks like its going to be great. but clean it up, bluecoats!

  • Baritones at 10:42 are the balls. period.

  • Tubas seriously need to clean up the beginning of the trombone concerto.

  • they should be higher than 5th!!!! wtf

  • Cool opener, but i don't understand why they have so many stand still sets when they should be moving and creating other formations. I understand it's still early in the season, but I hope they make changes to this drill. There is a lot of room for improvement.

    BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @timy248 i like this show soooo much better thank the phantom regiments show this year. Dont get me wrong, i love phantom more than any other corp but their drill didnt fit with the music. PR's drill was boring and this was really exciting to see!

  • @timy248 maybe they do some choreography in those spots that they have not learned yet i doubt they are just going to stand still lol

  • @enigmasleeps I hear ya...the generator for the pit was right underneath us in the stands, and it was resonating through the aluminum floor. It was also really gusty...not sure if that played into the sound quality or not (I haven't been able to listen to this since I uploaded it).

  • Tubas should do the ripple at 5:09

  • What a great hauntingly pleasing sound in Creep and then its all gone.....I really wish the Bluecoats would lay off the dissonance........to much....not pleasing to the ears at all.

  • i think the staff is definatly putting changes in motion, but they needed a rough idea to work with first. also it is early season still

  • Opener is best in DCI -- but unless the staff has the balls to rewrite a majority of the rest of the show, they have no chance to compete top 3 again...sorry that is the truth.

here is an easy solution that will guarantee a top 2 show: rework the "creep" theme back into the closer, and remove the quadraphonic mess. it was a great idea, but isn't working. PLEASE

  • @superr00k Rewriting that isn't going to guarantee anything. Maybe it's a mess, maybe it isn't. Other corps came to play this year, as did Bloo (again), but I seriously disagree with the notion a simple rewrite here and there will catapult them up.

They're performing well (much better than the Round Rock show, where it was hot, early season, and a windy mess), but so is everyone else.
