  • whats your rear suspension like? Do you have rear solid mounts (jayracing conversion kit) The rear is sliding some with a link setup that'll stop slide an should make her launch straight. Amzing swap build.

  • @DALE97DSM go to iowa auto forums and look up 4g63 mustang it has all my build pics on it

  • whats the exhuast? im looking to do a swap to my fox after a rod shot through the block, any good motor mounts, will this fit on the stock trans?and how much and and how long did this take?

  • Not a crazy idea when its making that much power!!!

  • Was that automatic! Fukin cool man, lol that thing flys

  • A ford owner with a brain.

  • What stall converter you used was it a 8". 5500

  • I've seen many a Mustangs....and this is a first for a 4g63 Mitsubishi based motor. Seems to go pretty good none-the-less, and looks like a real clean job with the install.

If your a Mustang Junkie and/or Mustang Enthusiast...then join us others on:

    SmokinStangs dotcom

  • Eh I hope it was a 4 cylinder because if you wasted a 5L for that unreliable peaky mitsushiti motor you've got issues I'd give you credit for creativity but a 5.0 with explorer heads and a 3 k Turbo set up will lay 450 to the wheels plus gobs of tq with a broad power band wayyyy more reliable and sadly more fuel efficient BC its hardly working

  • @RaudiAudiT This car makes more than 450 to the wheels, and talking about reliable. After you go over 500 your 5.0 block cracks. Talk shit about something you know a little about.

  • so u got a mitsubishi 4 cylinder in a ford mustang? cool. cool.

  • great motor

  • Worlds most badass mustang! Fk a v8, 4 bangin all day! Lol

  • Insane!!! :-)

  • was that mustang a v8 at first or was that svo mustang?

  • what a beast for a 4 cylinder..

  • Finally a mustang I can respect

  • " all you can hear is the fucking turbo " lol

  • This is the best in your face for the bs theres no replacement for displacement. Good job.

  • That's sick. I think I found my new project

  • is this rednecks ? lol love this

  • That's insane! Love it.

  • 1:13

  • Nice job!

  • Rolling in my 2.0 got my windows down so my hair can blow! LOL!

  • This might be the coolest thing I've seen all week

  • Holy shit....badass

  • what no gauges??

very nice build by the way! how much does your Stang weigh?

I put a 4g63 on a Toyota Starlet that only weighs 1,600 pounds

  • have you made it to the dsm shootout?

  • dsm power baby((((:

  • Thumbs up! Out of the box thinking, creative, and downright original. 4G63's are the most under rated engine that has potentials to create big time power.

  • FUHKEN SUHWEEET!!!!

  • what gearbox did you use ?

  • i wanna see a fox with a s2000 motor!

  • only mustang i love 4g63 FTMFW

  • Bill Hincher from Ohio made it for me everything on the back side of it is GM

  • great job on an oddball swap! looks like it runs good. were u able to find a bellhousing conversion plate for that motor/tranny?? or did u have to fab on up yourself?

  • Good commentary

  • "Man pukes on the floor"

    Right car, WRONG engine!!!!!

  • This is weird! o.O I've seen V8's in imports but a Mitsubishi 4 cylinder in a Mustang? Very creative! Looks like a cool project that'll leave people scratching there heads in confusion, haha!

  • @tacomanfan344 Well, the foxbodies do come factory with 4 bangers and 4 banger turbos, so why not do a swap? and if you look at the hp ratings on a 93 5.0, it makes 220hp, which you can get out of a factory SR20DET, so why not do a JDM swap in a Mustang? I think it's pretty damn cool

  • wow. ford has a turbo 2.3 so what made you do the 4g63?

  • @BLACKLACDTS i would think cheaper and a 4g63 is one of the best l4 you can buy and is the power plat of the fastest l4 in the world

  • Dude you rock, much love for that! Fuck them haters, dawg.

  • I fukin hate muscle cars.... But i would actually own this 1 jus cuz itz powered by a DSM engine Tuners 4 Life

  • That is freaking awesome

  • dude u better not ever go to a mustang meet ur ass will get shot..import in american muscle...

  • @CHOPMOP10

So narrow minded. If it makes power it makes power.

  • @dsmwookie dude its a sweet setup i luv the 4g63 i have a talon with that motor but still im just sayin

  • @dsmwookie atleast the power is going to the right wheels. for that this swap gets a thumbs up from me

  • finally a mustang i like

  • 4:05 hummmm nice smelll in the house the wifes gonna be angry ahaha

  • what tranny is behind that beast?

  • @jtmagicman25 Turbo 400

  • Needs more boost.

    That thing is sick!

  • hahahahha thats awsome, never seen a 4g63 mustang. How hard was it to do this setup??

  • cool project

  • How did you make the engine a RWD engine? lol thats fucking crazy.

  • @eclipsegsx765 Its not difficult.. You can take a AWD talon and make it RWD or FWD.

  • @nealongreene15 Verrrry easily :D

  • Fuck yeah. Lmfao at all the pussystang haters

  • hes proly got a dick the size of China rite now!!

  • a 4banger over a v8??? wow... shoulda just modded the original v8

  • @hernandadmx there's no fun in that.... plus the 4g63 will destroy 95% of 5.0s... and who said it was an original v8 car?

  • @hernandadmx ruined a perfectly good car

  • one of the best projects ive seen in a long time... good work buddy

  • I really dislike mustangs, but I have to make an exception, that thing is crazy awesome

  • Fuck yeah, Love to see someone thinking outside of the box, 4G63 engines are bullet proof. I've DD'ed mine on 30psi for two years now and only go through water pumps from the 9500rpm pulls I do daily. My friends mudstain just shits itself to death everytime it has to go over 4500rpm. Nice work, now lets see some track videos...

  • @danielblades785 yup 4Gs are great motors.... just DSM trannys and cheap aftermarket timing belts suck

  • If you can't beat em join em :)

  • 2:01 "fuck i got a dick the size of china right now"

  • Really cool this, what tranny did you use?

  • What converter did you use for this build I am mounting my 4g63 in my stang as we speak but I dont want to pay burschor $1300 for there converter.

  • This is insanely awesome.

  • dam crazy i love it and im jealous

  • ah ok now i understand, haha

    cheers for the info :)

    +sub for more videos :D

  • They are 0.20" over and 8.5:1 off the site where i bought them from

yeah the car will be street driven, but i want to be able to take it to the strip run a few low 11's to high 10s and drive it home to do the shopping in lol

nice to know that the spool is low ish, would the spool lower with bigger cams?

your car seems quite quick what sort of kw's where you running in this vid?

  • @shaun928 spool will get worse the more duration (open longer) the cams have i would try the 280s and the .63 hotside you should be able to run low elevens if you can shift that thing and then go get something nice at the mall for your girlfriend afterwords :)

  • Hey skipdownstairs, very nice project!

I'm in the middle of building up a genuine CD9A - Evolution 1, Ive got Eagle rods and JE pistons for it with arp bolts, i've got a custom manifold with 44mm tial wastegate but i'm unsure on what rear exhaust housing to use with the gt3582r, what were you running in this video?

Ive been told that i should use a set of Kelford 280 cams in the head, its a small port (2G/ 7 bolt in dsm) any thoughts or suggestions?

  • @shaun928 im running a .63 A/R and want to go to a .82 to help me in the upper rpms those are really good cams and I will be switching to those as well. what compression are you running my car spools at 4200 rpms with a 8.5 :1 piston and it will be a tad higher with the .82 housing If your going to be doing alot of street driving I suggest the .63A/R

  • @shaun928 if your worried about spool then stay away from any turbocharger that has a GARRET sign on it. if you built the exact same setup and put a HOLSET HX35 it would spool 700-900 rpm quicker and carry more hp over a longer rpm range. and Kelfords are good cams, but 280's might be a bit much unless your shooting for 700+ hp. the 272 kelfords dont lose as much low end as the 280's but still has good top end.

  • You should See the Franken Dart / Franken Stang Video on streetfire , both 4g's BAD ASS!

  • when we going to line em up :)

  • You should be punched in the dick for putting this motor in a mustang.

  • @carchick351 you should be punched in the va j j for not understanding how great a motor that is,all you really have to do is cam it and turn up the boost, how many 351 cleavelands built with about 400 to 500 h do you know of that you can drive on the street with no problem and still get 25 mpg.......lol

  • @carchick351 4G63 is the best 4cyl engine ever made. My fucking 4g63 (550hp only) talon beats out v8 cars everyday with no problem. So stfu and Im just going to call you a stupid broad and move on with my life.

  • @nealongreene15 yo did mitsubsihi ot chrysler make the 4g63t

  • @MrOpoooooooooooooooo Mitsubishi obviously... They only joined with Chrysler to sell their vehicles in America, then in sometime around 1995 took the whole company from all the income they made off their great vehicles and decided to create a Automotive Mitsubishi dealer in Canada/USA instead of having to deal with Chrysler.

  • awesome!

  • SKIPDOWNSTAIRS, PLEASE upload more vids of this project. I am thinking of following your steps and make a 4g63 Stang of my own. I can buy an LX body for 200.00 down the street for my house and I already have a couple of 4g63 6bolts sitting my garage. All i need is the tranny and adapter kit. Again, MORE UPLOADS! Gratz on an incredible machine! 5stars..

  • @shawnmgarcia thanks for the hospitality!!!! pm me your email and ill send you some pictures of the build

  • @skipdownstairs Thanks bro, PM SENT!

  • Nice performing car :)

    how much does it weight?

  • BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH! You kept the heater controls for the Eclipse. Why? LOL! Awesome.

  • Now with the current setup he has now... once he gets the converter figured out should be an easy low 11, high 10 second car...(based on the capability of a 35R turbo and that he has ALL supporting mods) depending on how much boost he's running and if he's using race fuel. With race fuel and some crazy boost...mid 10's I would say no prob. I own a built 1st gen eclipse AWD with this same engine in it and a 400hp 78' RS Camaro. Eclipse= track car Camaro= cruiser Love em' both

  • @ LXMustangMan50 the STOCK 4g63 placed into this mustang would actually run pretty much equal with the stock 5.0L of this same year. A 5.0L of that year I believe was about 225bhp... stock 4g63 210bhp. Although with the 4g63 you can rev up to 7000rpm (and still make good power) and you also have less weight with the smaller engine. With the stock 5.0 intake setup, the engine can only continue making good usable power till about 5500 to 5800 rpm and then it just kind of falls on its face.

  • So is that a big block or something...

Oh wait it's a 4G63 on a fox body Mustang...

I guess muscle cars would convert the ways sooner or later. Still looks nicer on my IX.

  • Wow, a Mustang with no torque twist...... oh wait..... no torque....

  • @LxMustangMan50 or cuz the internals are less than half the weight of the 5.0..

  • 2 thumbs up !! what a crazy car. Good job

  • think that maybe a massive weight reduction?

  • 4g63=everything raper

  • This is one kick ass setup!!!

  • bad ass! power of a 4g with every part for drag racing under ther sun. who's adapter plate are you running buscharor bill's? makes me regret doing a conquest

  • Where did you guys get the smooth front bumper peice that rivets to the front bumper cover? ive been looking for one of those for my lx for a LONG time now. Please let me know thanks!

  • @88jjdecay I bought from nitrousmike on iowa auto forums not sure where he got it from pretty slick deal.....

  • @skipdownstairs Thanks, and actually i finally found where these get made haha a guy named gary markwich from gainsville florida. It took ALOT of google searching ha i just got mine it cost 290 but its alot better then paying 550 for a whole new front bumper cover from VFN. It will be alot less work also ha

  • Can't wait to see how it does at the track.

  • @red97rum yeah cant wait either going to pick up shocks and springs for the rear tonight and hopefully get to the track this weekend regardless of the torque converter

  • Question what tranny is he using and rear end. Which car it came out of?

  • @DALE97DSM Its a built turbo 400 with trans brake and a 8.8 ford rear end with a spooled 3.73 pro gear

  • hahahahahahaha, that is the greatest. That's be best mustang I've ever seen. And James, now low end torque? Like 1boost said, you can brake-boost, and spool the turbo so there won't be any turbolag. Spool it up, let off the brakes, try not to do a wheel-stand, and go. Talking about "low end torque" and all this crap on a drag only car doesn't make any sense at all, man. Even V8 drag cars have a 2-step of some kind. They don't leave the line at 1800rpms. They stall up the converter and go.

  • haha thats gotta be the biggest slap in the face for ford owners....... i love it!! 4g63 POWER!!!!!!

  • What size stall do you have?? I am doing a 4g swap in a FC rx7 with a pt6765rh T4 .68 A/R and am curious how laggy it is with the th400 in it. I have a built th400 with a tci rev manual VB with a "Billhousing" .

  • @dees75z its a hughes 9" 5500 stall converter for a bbc waaaaay to tight for my setup gna go with a 8" converter built for the application

  • @skipdownstairs , ok, I had a 10" 3500, lol. Obviously entirely too tight. How much do you want for that hughes?? lol

  • The best mustang i have ever seen 4g63 FTW !!!!!

  • @1boostup Fail.

  • @JamesSS69RS dont be jealous because a 4 cyl will whoop up on any v8 you own!!

  • @1boostup Im not jealous. I just dont think that the turbo 4 cylinder motor is the best platform to build a race car. While Im not saying its impossible to build power, smaller motors suffer from no low end torque. You can see it in the vid how much lag there is followed by tire smoke. You get a much more linear power increase with more useable power under the curve with larger displacement engines.

  • @JamesSS69RS I can agree with that ! but im sure he has a high stall torque converter for dragracing so he can spool the turbo before he leaves the line !!

  • @1boostup converter is too tight going to get one that works better but I had this one anyway on the shelf

  • @1boostup When that car can even dream of keeping up with my mild 5.0 Mustang (about the time that pigs fly), I might consider being jealous.

  • @LxMustangMan50 lol your a dumb ass this 4 cyl will smoke your shit !! I have never seen a v8 smoke the tires in every gear like this before!! And your in lala land dude !!! And no torque you must be stupid !!! There is more torque than any v8 you have LOL do some research dumb shit !! The 4g63 puts out over 1000 horse power tuned right !!

  • @1boostup

WIth how slow that car is, I doubt it's anywhere close to 1000hp.

As for spinning the tires, my roomates Honda Civic (87hp) can spin the tires in every gear.... it's not that hard.

I'll give the owner credit for creativity, but in my opinion, with that much work, the car should perform better than when it was stock.

  • @LxMustangMan50 Your a idiot !!

  • @1boostup

And you need to learn to speak English.

  • @LxMustangMan50 no its not 1000hp but its near 600hp which would smoke your 5.0 Just because you're a mustang 5.0 lover you don't have to be jealous because someone put a 4g63 in a mustang.

Its my old motor and i know what it is capable of. Lets see a video of your 5.0 actually doing something.

And also post a video of this great Honda Civic that could even chirp every gear. Would love to see it!

  • @LxMustangMan50 As 98% of all mustang guys do, you are highly under estimating the power and potential, more importantly, the low cost of a 4g63 engine swap. I spent more building my Carb/Spray 5.0 project than I did with my AWD 4g63 and was far more satisfied with the DSM project. They are extremely affordable, and insanely responsive the the smallest of upgrades... Do your research my friend. In my opinion, this could possibly be the best combination of cost effective parts u can think of!

  • SICK,,,,,, 4G63 FTW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • That is bad ass. You cant be doing motor swaps with no subaru shit. Mitsu > Subaru

  • This is awesome you should bring it to the shootout!!

  • nice vid

  • Blue she will be!! ya pry 9500 and stay away from the chip shift it at 9000

  • motor sounds nice of course haha, painting it blue or what? also what did you end up setting the rev limiter at? its should be go for 9300 its seen 9500 a few times!
