Series 5 and up has started to give them a rest. Moffat in particular really wants them to be placed on hold for now, and the only reason Victory of the Daleks was allowed was because since Series 5 was so different from the last 4 they wanted something to show the fans that not everything had changed.
Series 6 only has a single Dalek scene, and it isn't even important to the plot.
@RedCrystalify Really this episode was just to reintroduce a very old enemy of the Doctor, which in my opinion they pulled off queit well. Unfortuantly since said character is so tied closely with the Daleks, it was inevitable that they would come along for the ride, even if they had reach that point of overuse as we have seen as late as the Manhatten ep. Or sooner. YMMV
As for the Cybermen, I didn't think they were overused that much. But thank god they did not go overboard with the Master.
daleks? again? it's starting to get to me. can't they come up with some new enemies? and i thought all the daleks were wiped out anyway, except one, in daleks in manhatten.
or is this the emperor's fleet?
