  • i'm brazilian and i know this song very well. . i can say she is singing it beautifully for a tough song!

  • This song is so beautiful.

Just don't think that's the song for her.

  • Totally love her !

  • beautiful

  • great presentation... could you see the tears in her eyes?? That's to sing with the heart!!!

  • Bachianas Brasileiras de Heitor Villa Lobos.

    Excellent execution.

  • I don't see how anyone could possibly memorize this!?

  • singing just notes is one of the hardest things to do. It is easier to sing with words.

  • Her Bchianas Brasheiras gives us excellent dream, and her voice will stay with us as a memory.

  • Her Bchianas Brasleiras is the best.

    I've ever heard.

  • so....who are the good trained singers you are talking about?

  • Heitor villa lobos me arrepia

    tanks to be brazilian

  • Tremlador u obviously have no musical idea. The beutiful cello playing is part of the peice. It is a peice for cellos and and soprano!

  • where is the rest of the aria?? why would you cut it up like that?=??

  • condecprano, and besides being the final word on what is good, what exactly is your Problem? Shame on you for being a black hearted person.Snobs like you that take all the fun out of everything.Take a long walk off a short pier.

  • Hayley may lack an operatic voice, but doesn't mean she can't sing classical. Who would you say does this song justice?

  • oh shut up! jealous freak!

  • que c'est beau

  • Wow!!!

    hayley is just incredibly wonderful

  • Quel plaisir à ecouter

  • Please be quiet and listen to Hayley. Even if she does nothing but screams, yells or cries, it's still music to my ears. Viva Hayley!

  • If only it was possible to shut down that cello and let me ear Hayley's voice alone..

  • lol.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this performance of Hayley's. I thought it was beautiful and haunting, and nothing about it should be changed. And I think it is perfectly fine that it is not the same as the 'original' version. The world needs some variety every now and then, otherwise, life is boring. And I do not see what all the fuss and fighting is about.

  • My gosh you guys! She did a fine job! Considering her age and the fact that she is not an opera singer. Just enjoy the beautiful version that she sung. I love it.

  • She has a good voice, but at this age, the peice is just too much for her too handle.

  • Please see that for classical singers this is a very special piece in which to demonstrate a flawless unbroken line of pure sound. Very few singers can do this well, & it is a piece which shows up any imperfections. So it is not "elitist" or "snobbish" to be dissatisfied with this version. Think of the perfection of Roger Federer's tennis & compare it to the best player in the school. No contest. Classical singers seldom sing popular music well & the opposite is true here.

    Try Anna Moffo

  • Odinchert, that is EXACTLY the way Vila Lobos wrote the piece! I suggest you study a bit before you show your ignorance.

  • Quite right. In fact he composed it for Eight Cellos, so he quite clearly needed a fully trained voice which could soar above the instruments.

  • Quite right. In fact he composed it for Eight Cellos, so he quite clearly needed a fully trained voice which could soar above the instruments.

  • Parabéns... Maravilhoso.... Sem duvidas vc alegro meu dia com sua voz linda que ficou otima na bachianas brasileiras nº 5 de Heitor Vila Lobos......

  • I which part of my comment did you see that I called it an aria?? I merely comented on her awful breathing and the way she butchered the music by not singing the whole thing...and I wouldnt call her a 'great professional' either...shes just a begginer and she has much to learn (dont we all?). She has a lot of potential,a very good ear and a sweet voice, and music like this is not doing her any justice because she just isnt up to it at the moment.

  • Awful breathing according to whom or what standards? Those of contemporary opera? But that itself is just a fashion that has changed and will change again. The issue is not whether the standards of opera or Lieder are being met, but whether they are a valid standard to apply.

  • Awful breathing according to whom or what standards? Those of contemporary opera? But that itself is just a fashion that has changed and will change again. The issue is not whether the standards of opera or Lieder are being met, but whether they are a valid standard to apply.

  • what I meant by awful breathing is that she breathes in the middle of the phrases like at 0.30

  • Oh how dreadful! Is there some rational reason why breathing there is awuful?

Should she hold her breath like opera singers until she turns blue, and turn a smooth seemingly effortless performance into something tortured and asthetically ugly?

  • Please forgive my previous comment. I forgot myself for a moment. Anyone who alters the composer's work should be hung draw and quartered and burnt at the stake. She did it on purpose too. Brazen Kiwi hussy!

  • Stop berating Hayley's interpretation of Bachianas Brasileiras. As the poster well said it's not an aria and it didnt intend to be. So, respect the great professional she is and the sincere and excellent work she does.

  • Oh dear Lord...

this is the worst version of the Bachianas I have ever heard!!!

Shes breathing in the middle of the phrase, she doesn't say the portuguese words and she also doesn't do the humming part in the end also! But I must say she does have a very sweet voice and is very in tune (is that how you say it?)

  • In fact my message is adressed to gokathyj.

  • You better stop laughing that way.

YOU ARE GIVING A CLEAR IMAGE OF YOUR HYSTERIA!

But in fact you are right, it is thanks to this kind of comercial garbash that record majors can make enough money to allow people with good taste having records whit good music (classical or whatever).

They don't need my help for that, nor yours.

    Merry Christmas asshole!

  • You are giving a clear indication that you need a smack in the face. Shut your stupid mouth. People are sick of you garbage on feet making trouble on every thread.

  • And you call your self "stop the haters"?

    Don't make people laugh!

Turn back to you tree, monkey, and eat your banana.

    Piece of shit!

A little more : The cellist is very well, but pizzicatos in the orchestra are absolutely out of tone.

But this version doesn't deserve more.

  • And keep a civil tongue in your head too, marinoccienaga. People are sick of pieces of shit like you making trouble in every thread.

Nobody gives a F--- about your opinion of the music. You lot are all full of BS and lies. You wouldn't give an honest opinion about a crossover singer if someone held a gun to your head. Mind you the bullet would go straight through.

  • If you want to have "the last word" it's up to you, I won't answer any more.

Keep swimming in your frustration and happy new year.

Et va te faire foutre pauvre connasse.

  • bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

So an illiterate opera loving moron like you is someone with good taste?

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

  • And it doesn't matter whether the music is good or bad or what my taste is. The point is that you and others just came to make trouble, not to give an honest critique.

How much time have you spent listening to this "comercial garbash". I haven't listened to it right through ever. You have probably listened to ever note 50 times in case one of them is off:

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

Get back in your cage baboon.

  • Each time that a stupid ass hole like you answer to me I receive a message in my mail, so you should not be surprised that I answer tou you or other.

If you don't care of my opinion why are you answering me?

Don't you have any other thing to do with your poor life?

Who told you that I am a Opera lover?

I am not against "Crossover", listen Barbara Streissand singing Faure, or even Sting singing Dowland, for exemple.

  • I am so sorry that you are being subjected to this dreadful woman's nonsense, Mr Marinoc. She doesn't realise what astonishingly superior taste a person like you has or the great intellects you classical fans have.

  • Each time that an asshole like you sends me an answer I receive it in my mail, so i'm forced to come back to this site, you should not be surprised.

If your problem is to have the "Last word", just take it, i don't care.

Who told you that I am opera lover?

I am not against "crossover", just hear Barbara Streissand singing Faure, or even Sting singing Dowland.

I am against bad quality, and this thing (Mrs. Wenstenra version)belong to this rank.

  • My message apeared twice, but it doesn't matter it will be probably one of the last.

About your histeria, or your bad taste, that is your problem, each one makes tha he (or she, or "It") wants in his (her, its) life.

Sites like this one allow people to make comments or give opinions. You probably pretend to be more "open minded" than I am (or others), but you attitude is allmosts dictatorial.

  • Really? Dictatorial? Is she saying anyone who doesn't agree with her has bad taste (not just different) and viciously rubbishing both the singer and anyone who disagrees with her? Is she loftily attacking commercialism and taking an absurdly superior and elitist attitude. The Bitch!

  • "Excuse-me" (or not) if your poor fragile brain does not support "the troble I make in every thread" but don't be surprised to be covered by insults if you do the same.

Those "intellektuals"(as you say), that you hate so much, are able to use your dirty language (and more other).

Nobody gives a F... about my opinion, excepting you. Wich in some philosophical schemas means that you are nobody.

    Bye, bye Casper!

  • ook i get it now, but ehhh what matters to me is that the music sounds beautiful soo yea imma just keep listening to this.

  • Kiri Te Kanawa when asked the person she felt was the greatest singer that ever lived replied: "The young Elvis Presley, without any doubt."

Even she understood that classical vocalism is not the standard for all other singing and that people must be judged by what they are doing.

  • Why in the world are you all fighting, She obviously has talent, she does a good job singing this masterpiece, and how can you judge her lets see you all sing that song without breaking all windows.

  • We are fighting because the opera loving arseholes not only won't admit that any crossover singer has talent, but because the opera psychos are such pathetic shit that they will spam every thread a crossover is on. They are frightened their beloved opera singers are being shown up for what they are - talentless crap.

  • its not about breaking windows etc, its just that as popular, or rich, or pretty,or sweet as Ms Westenra is, she has not done the requsite study to render the piece as the composer intended: not entirely her fault, it would be hard to to say no to fame, cash etc, but it still does not detract form the fact that this rendition is substandard. no oneperfect true, but this is just ubfortunate.

  • Oh for the love of mike. She's decided not to do it as the composer intended. SAVVY F-Wit?

Read the other posts here. My God your ignorance is so irritating! I suppose you are too intellectuall challenged to understand, but she's done it deliberately, you incomparable fool.

She can modernise it for her audience if she wants to and if you don't like it sod off and watch some stupid opera.

  • your constant barrage of abuse speaks volumes about your character and yet again proves how little knowledge you have of the artform: this intercorse is tiresome and I will now desist honouring you in your petty attempt at justifying the unjustifyable: enjoy your vast self imposed and great limititations.

btw an artist is a vessel, IF the Berlioz [thats pronounced bear lee oh]required an improvisation he would have indicated it.

  • "petty attempt justifying the unjustifyable:"

Aye? I have not attempted to justify anything. I have told you facts. "FACTS". Look it up!

She did it deliberately. You said she didn't do the work. Not true.

She can change it to suit her audience if she wants to. She and others will continue to do so.

Whether they are "justified" in doing so is a question I do not pretend to have the knowledge or intelligence to answer SIR!

  • No SIR! not for a moment. Justification is a somthin thut rises many qustions of an existantial, epistomological, and ontological nature that a simple woman like myself who likes a bit of easy listening musac rather than real singlers dont have the competance to answer.

I leaf thut to grate minds lik youself, SIR!

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha

  • An artist is a vessel? ooooooh gee SIR, you are bein soooooooo intalecktual. I thought if the men from Decca said "We are going to do it this way", and to hell with Bear whatsit", that it was well nigh impossible to get yu own way. Ms Westenra claims she got her own way in a room full of big-wigs by turning on the waterworks, but that had nothing to do with arias.

  • sanimalo,

Of course you are correct. The instructions of the composer are sacrosanct. There can be no justfication in not adhering to them.

  • Typical snobbery. Why not? All conductors interpret the music their orchestras play to a greater or lesser extent. This is obviously a modern interpretation which is beyond the limits of your narrow comprehension.

  • Why not sir! My Goodness! Because Mr Samimalo and his ilk say so and they are educated superior people who own classical music and have a God given right to tell us all what goes and what doesn't. Pull yourself together man and face facts. Why Ayatollah Sir Thomas Allen has said the same thing! Could such an emminent man be wrong?

  • sanimalo, You are an absurdity and a mountebank. Your ludicrous pretentiousness and risibly affected prose style make you the prince of buffoons. You are not just a laughingstock, but a world-class laughingstock -- a Guinness Book of Records laughingstock. Judge all singing in relation to classical vocalism of a century ago if you like, and rant about those who don't being ignorant and intellectually challenged, but your opinion is of no consequence.

  • "The artist is a vessel", says the great man. Yeah, yeah, in nirvana the artist is a vessel in which the life force manifests: in which the seed of creation is ripened. What this Buddhist mysticism has to do with this discussion is not very clear. Some would argue that singers and actors are not true artists because they only interpret not create. But, for the purist, this has untenable implications.

  • sk8rnyc88

This and other classical pieces sung by Hayley Westenra have been altered. She feared that if she strained too much while still a teenager it might damage her voice. But was obliged to do some "classical" material because the record company wanted to classify her as classical, so she could be included on the classical charts and compete at the Classical Brits. This, or simply because they wanted to commercialise the pieces, may be why it was done.

  • sk8rnyc88

I can see how what has been done here could be considered heresy by a purist, but the talk of mistakes and lack of study is nonsense. It is made plain on the PBS site where the DVD is advertised and on the CD where the same version is featured that this is a deliberate alteration.

  • The cellist...very good.

    The "singer"...singer?

Sounds poor, flat, uninteresting, unfinished...what else?

What interest has it but earn money in TV shows?

    petite conne!

  • It helped sell two million copies of an album that saved its record company going under.

I just can't understand why they didn't ask you experts how it should have been done properly!!!!

    Bwahahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

  • Hayley did a great job, this song is not very hard to sing. It's "Time to Say Goodbye" is what I hate when she sang it. As much as I love Hayley and she is my favorite singer, no one except Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli should sing it!

  • Comment removed

  • Que tristeza. La respiracion es bastante pobre. Y donde esta el texto. Se le olvido?

  • It sounds stupid!

There are many good versions everywhere, why should we swallow this stupid comercial arrangements?

Try to take some singing lessons poor girl!

  • She's got no time for singing lessons. Shes got to set up her new 3 million dollar flat and go shopping with Kathy for ?35,000 dresses.

The sort of lifestyle a gormless pratt like you will never know!!!!!!!!!!!!

    muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

  • Answer to gokathyj:

-About her singing ; Thruth is always difficult to admit.

-About her money : Many other things are more important than that...and in fact, what do you know about my fortune?

-About her 35.000 dresses, I dont need anything like that, i'm not a Dragqueen, are you?

  • The truth is difficult to admit, psiobianik. You opera loving loonies should try it some time. muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

Truth is opera is crap and noone cares about your opinion.

    muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

You are jealous of her money.

    muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

I know a petty tit like You doesn't have a fortune.

And we're not interested in whether you're a drag queen keep it to yourself.

  • You are an idiot psiobodinaik who is going to swallow this commercial arrangements wether you like it or not.

    muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

Commerce rules crossover rules opera is shit that doesn't sell albums.

    muahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahaha!!

  • Pslobodianik, I couldn't agree more, and I am so sorry that you have been subjected to this vulgar attack by such an uneducated and uncouth person as this foolish woman. It is so difficult for people of intelligence and sensibility in these times of crass commercialism and cultural decline. And I'm afraid that these dreadful "crossover classical" singers (so called) are a symptom of that decline. This dumbing down of our great musical heritage makes me profoundly depressed.

  • I want to believe she did everything on purpose, it she did, then this is a good version of the song, though listen to the original one, and you'll see why many think she performed poorly...her voice is pretty but I was used to Amel Brahim's version, absolutely perfect!

  • LADYOFMEROL, I don't understand how you might think it not on purpose. This is not a live concert; it's a tv episode of the PBS "Great Perfomances" series. The same version, almost identical, is on Westenra's CD. There is a curious background, in that she had said in the past she didn't intend "bashing out arias" while a teenager because she had strong ideas about this, or singing outside of her natural range when young, being likely to damage her voice.

    cont:

  • Listen:

Jenkins, etc have make a pact with the devils of fame and fortune. Even if such pacts are not quite Faustian, the devils will exact their price. These people work in the popular realm and have a job to do. That job is to work audiences and sell records. To this end they will do what works. What works may not be what I, or the local opera fans like, but the devils will only be appeased by many albums being sold. Savvy?

  • I had just about promised to be polite, and as soon as I am I run into yet another braindead opera fan. Another illiterate little slob who is gratuitously abusive. Somehow this doesn't come as a surprise.

  • The extemporisation instead of the folk song doesn't work. The drama of the folk song adds texture that accentuates the beautiful theme that, as Mr. Classicus points out, is too thin to start with. Makes the whole thing insipid.

  • when u hear this great version,as if u're reading marlow's faustus after reading goethe's faust. faust was strange too for those who knew the former versions. art is growing and continuous. her beauty was in her thin, loud n continuous flowing tone, i assure u this is more difficult to perform, her voice was itself an orchestra, another meaning of the song. and this music could only be eternal bcoz it inspired hayley for this great performance.

  • I love hayley but this wasn't her best performance

  • I'm afraid the tone is too thin and unvaried, besides excessively bright and kind of weak. It lacks the richness of sound and the palette of colours that this song requires. One must not only sing, but express the feelings that are imbued in the musical lines. Hayley doesn't do that ...

Besides, she didn't sing the words! The text is most important in this song. Was she afraid to learn some Portuguese? And the vocalise she added wasn't very creative. She changed the music. Not good at all.

  • This is one of Villa-Lobos's most touching songs...Aria (Cantilena) from Bachianas Brasileiras No.5. She does a pretty nice job, although she's skipped a good portion of the song. I recommend Victoria de los Angeles with Villa-Lobos himself conducting. Absolutely stunning.

  • What happened? Did she forget the words in the middle of the song? Can somebody explain, please? It seems that she had to improvise.

  • I don't think so. If you're talking about the humming, that's part of the piece. I played this a few years ago with a cello choir, and was thrown off by the humming too.

  • The aria starts with aah in the first part, then words in the second part and humming in the third. Maybe she improvised, to me it felt as if she was insecure in some of the notes.

  • it's a shame that she has peaked so soon. She was great during this concert, but her latest albums werent able to hold up to her potential...

hopefully she'd take much needed time off and construct an album that will show justice to her voice.

  • I am glad she is singing this masterpiece of the greatest Brazilian composer ever, and sad that she decided to create some vocalizes instead of singing the original song...

  • uh, Villa-Lobos' music is great not only in itself but also in its possibility of virtuoso-playing. Rafael Rabello did just that on-stage many times. The girl, on the other hand, is nowhere near Rabello's caliber, but at least she tried, and I appreciate that

  • and she cheats too! She doesn't finish the humming with bocca chiusa. I guess it is because it's too difficult for her. You can't compare this interpretation with anyone else's. We have to accept it for what it is: a nice version of a classic masterpiece sung prettily by a child. My favorite version of this piece is sung by Amel Brahim. Such a diaphragm control! The humming! Exquisite! Look her up. You'll love it.

  • Very nice. I always like to here her sing. She is from New Zealand I remember

  • Aww, cello guy is married!

  • Anyone who likes this piece of music should seek out the early Joan Baez version -- on "Joan Baez/5".

  • Villa-lobos wrote it beautifully, why change perfection? She could have done better if she sang it as he wrote it, including the text and boca chiusa. Sorry, I think she ruined a beautiful song.

  • amazing i love hayley

  • beautiful

  • I love her voice...she's awesome..although I found that in this particular performance her intonation was a little off and her breathing less controlled than usual. I don't mean to be critical though! I still think she's fantastic.

And just in case anyone gets annoyed with this post, yes I have sung it, and yes I can sing it.

  • That's fair enough comment. You may well be right. Everybody is going to have the odd bad day and odd not so good performance. Hayley's workload since she's been about 16 has been enormous, and it's a wonder she maintains ths standards she does.

  • I think this is why I play the Cello, but damn I wish I can play as well as that guy.

He was giving Hayley funny looks at one point (About 1:41)

Man, how does he do Vibrato so well? His cello hardly shakes, when I play, mine shakes a fair bit.

Her vocals are nice, I don't care what you all say!

  • a child soundin like a child

    sorry.

  • This song fits the voice perfectly.

    Video 9/10

    Song 10/10

    Voice 10/10

  • Pertence a Heitor Villa-Lobos, incluída em 9 composições no estilo de Bach. A de número 5 é para voz de soprano e orquestra de 8 violoncelos, sendo seu primeiro movimento, Ária.

Bachianas brasileiras is one of the nine compositions written by brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (l887-l959), in which he mixed brazilian folklore material to pre-classic forms in Bach style. Number 5 is for soprano voice and for 8 violoncelos orchestra and Ária is its first movement

  • Where is this Aria from? Who composed it?

  • Before you can do the same thing as she does, do not comment or criticize. it does not make you smarter but makes you a captious person.

  • Many, and I mean MANY, young girls and boys can do what she does. Unfortunately our culture is losing the need to hear the emotion(s) that goes with these songs when they are done by a child. Ask anyone who is in music. This stuff will only get harder for Hayley as she gets older. She is only unique because she was pushed to perform by someone. There are lots of kids singing in their church choir or just in the shower who, given the opportunities Hayley has had, could blow her away.

  • I don't see any problem with the cello dubbing her voice. It sounds almost like a 3rd instrument. It's interesting in my opinion.

  • Wow some people really like to show off their musical knowledge don't they..<laughing>

Hayley is young & magnificent her voice has a brilliance which is rare indeed.

a true Angel is singing here

Please enjoy instead of attempting to pick fault : )

  • That was truly beautiful! I like Hayley's voice.

  • it's just a shame she vocalised during the cello solo and didn't either hold the whole bocca chiusa part or sing the aria text. i had heard her voice before and expected more from her.

  • SAIKO!

  • no hay prescencia del tercer atril de chelos!!!

  • SHE BREATHS WHEN SHE SHOULDN'T DO IT. Even when she has a nice voice, the cello doesn't allow to listen to her. BAD BREATHING.

  • Listened 2 u & or other detrators and u all seem like from the Maurice DeVallier (spellit) school. The French have a way, sadly since the 50's 'lover' of thinking 'Thank Heaven's for Little Girls" belongs to 'em. All you say is mean after this. This girl has a truly heavenly voice, phrasing- whatever.

  • she's 18, lol. give her time to develop her voice. =) she's been training for only like 4 or 5 years and her voice is still developing. i get tired of people being so harsh on someone so young in life and the field.

  • She wasn't 18 at the time this concert was recorded. She would have been only 16. (Or maybe just 17.)

  • I agree, a singer should be very careful before trying anything classical. But she does a good job with a very lyric voice, it doesn't have to be Callas material it can still be enjoyed by a clear/crisp amature voice.

  • Beauitul-- I love hey voice. Like an Angel - I close me eyes when I listen- Im in aww of her voice.

  • that phrasing is terrible! some cross over artists need to do some REAL work before they dare evnture into the perilous and unforgiving world of classical music.

  • sanimalo, outside of the opera world no one knows or cares what you mean by 'phrasing'. So to 99% of the world it doesn't matter. If she did it in a way that pleased you, that would be very stupid, because it wouldn't sell.

  • ouch sqid101, ignorance does have a nasty bite to it! [albeit an intellectually challenged one] and

yes if they packed sh*t and sold it as ice cream you'd probably buy bulk and have a banquet the 99pc you cited: well in fact you have done just that by loving this cr*p!

    muahahahaha

proud to be in the top 1 pc

  • Very well, I am unintelligent and ignorant. But I'm in pretty good company, it seems - Debbie Wiseman, Jocelyn Pook, and Julian Lloyd Webber to mention but three. She was flown to sing to the Dalia Lama, and to a special concert with the Queen, Bush, Rice, and Tony Bain. No doubt they have all been gyped. You fear loathing and malice gets tiresome, you know.

  • That should have read "your fear loathing and malice". You do give me another quote from the sicko "classical music purists" to add to the collection. If not accepting your view makes me ignorant and unintelligent, I am happily and unashamedly ignorant and unintelligent. If being against viciousness and malice makes me "anti-intellectual", chalk me up as anti-intellectual. We know who the haters and the sh*t are, yep we know who the sh*t are.

  • I made a mistake in arguing sensibly with you, sanimalo. You are here simply to hurt and be vicious. What drives you pricks is something it's difficult to understand. If you are the elite, and represent opera, I have no inclination to join you and would encourage others not to. 90% or more of my own CDs are classical, but listening to some of the classical purists here puts me off listening to them.

  • 3 comments squid! amazing, time to get off the computer and get a job ahahaha....my initlal response was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

that still holds btw...and in the words of Mika, 'relax take it easy'

now if you'll excse me I have a full life to lead, you might want to learn a new word today.lol

    mwah

  • Sanimalo, my comment about the 99% was a statement of fact. You responded with typically stupid personal insults and assumptions. Nothing in my post attacked opera or supported the singing here. By the way, your repeating of the adolescent joke about shit v ice-cream isn't hard evidence of intellectual superiority. Whether only 1% of the population appreciate opera is perhaps too low anyway.

  • You're a pyschotic asshole, sanimalo. F-ed in the head.

    bwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha!!

  • oh, she swears too! classy, just like your taste in musicians...ignorance [look it up] must be bliss...btw I bet you think Paul Potts can sing too huh?

  • There's only the two percent of raving pyschotics who think he can't sing!!

    bbwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha!!

Your posts are classy. No argument just insult.

    bbwawahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahahahahamuahaha!!

  • And don't call me ignorant you opera loving loonie. You fools are the most ignorant on the planet.

  • So we are ignorant?

  • Mr Potts is very good singer with much feeling in his song.

  • I love Hayley and all, but don't you think you are a tad obsessed with her? I don't want to pick a fight, it's just... a bit extreme.

  • What's extreme? This has nothing to do with Hayley per se.

  • What I don't altogether understand, Silven, is the obsession the opera and classical purists have with the "crossover" singers. I am not talking about honest criticism, but the hatred being spewed at them.

  • Yeah, I know. They probably just think that opera should just stay strict opera. I think the crossover makes it really unqiue. Sorry about saying that you were a tad obsessed. I cannot believe I said that. I feel really bad.

  • I love this song!

  • just great!

  • Nice voice, pity that the cello overdubbed her voice...
