I don't think they sound alike at all. The beginning starts out with a three phrase build up but Halo's more melodic and interesting. Already There seems to be missing the climax that Halo has. No comparison. Both good singers but Halo is a better song.

Eventually, every song will have to be a copy of another. There are a limited number of notes in the scale so it is a mathematical certainty that every combination of notes will eventually be used.
these things does happen....sometimes two songs released at the same time and with some parts having some similarities seems to be a rip from the other but these are not new things in the music industry anymore. no one to blame here....

yea i can somewhat hear the similarities but it is nothing so big to go "OMG She copied me!" both are great songs in my opinion and the topic of each song are on the opposites of the spectrum. really nothing to worry about. If you look on both stars' VEVO pages on YouTube, you'll see that Beyonce' posted Halo just one day after Kelly Clarkson's Already Gone was put up. I do believe that it was Ryan's fault, being co-writer of both songs. And also, I noticed the piano in the background of each song was different, but all else was similar. Neither Kelly nor Beyonce' should be blamed for 'copying', also it's not like one used the same lyrics. If the track was used & the lyrics were changed, then she made it her own.

Its actually not illegal, as long as the meaning of the song is completly differant, its all fair game, you know how many songs are out the with the EXACT same chord structure, so whats this issue? Wouldnt it be an awesome Mashup? Take Happy birthday for example, that is an actual copywritten song, and it gets paid royalties for whoever uses it to promote businesses, think about it, differeant restuarauts have their own versions of happy birthday, because they can use it legally that way.

So...when you don't write your own songs you can't be accused of copying someone else. Beyonce' and Kelly can sing but they're just the same as the percussionist and the keyboard player and the engineer...They're just people the record label gets to perform other people's songs. Just hired help. Beyonce' and Kelly are just voices and faces and not the "artist" at all.

Eventually, every song will have to be a copy of another. There are a limited number of notes in the scale so it is a mathematical certainty that every combination of notes will eventually be used.
