@baleadoantrax you can get a horse for free- or as inexpensive as $500- the initial cost of a horse will be one of your cheapest (inexpensive) occurrences- it's more the up keep and maintenance of the horse where you will find the cost that adds up. But they give such joy and can add much quality to your life (just stop going out for fast food, starbucks, dinners etc, and you can make up the expenses! lol).

@MargeritaMix I know how you feel, but those horses are taken care of really well. There is a stable just down the street from me that does halter shows; The horses have no harm in doing the shows, and of course the owner would ride them, heck, even for trail rides. So, yes...They are being used the correct way. Or would you rather they enter a race, break their cannon bone, and get put down at the age of only 3 years old? These horses are pampered, and they live a peaceful life.

They are so beautiful, I just came back from my horseback riding lesson and I've been riding a half Arabian with a flea-bitten coat and whenever she got excited from cantering, she would lift her head, point her ears, and raise her tail so high, it's adorable!
@Finula99 Keep an eye out for Russian Arabians.. :o) There's a stallion in Canada that is 16.2 and Straight Russian. I think a Russian/Spanish cross would yield tall and big boned Arabians.
8:47 - horsefight! I thought, "this looks familiar", then I spot my sis & I with my camera directly across the arena. This rarely happens at the show, they're usually well-behaved gentlemen, so it stood out in my memory. Nice how you captured the whole show, good vibes & all!
@olliethekitty sorry to tell you this,western pleasure is more challenging than english pleasure. the reason being is simply , thousands of mistakes can happen . our horses are moving so fast , quite hard for a judge to fault you. western pleasure ,well they cant were blinders, meaning the judges. Much harder class to show is western pleasure, however, you havent seen nothing like winning

the the colour of the horse at 0.45... silly question but how far back from the pole should the bridle path go on an arabian? I have been told 3 different lenghts... I have always wanted to go to Scottsdale... love the arabian costumes... they are gorgeous, very authentic. I also absolutly love the uniforms for Dressage.. so classy I also love the colour of the horse at 7.06... would that be classfied as a grey? this is awesome i love this show i took my gelding for the first time last year for dressage and we got 2 champions a reserve and a 3rd we are definitely going again this year and taking more horses, the horse at 1:26 is from my trainers barn her name is Kitty
