If you dont need that much performance a gtx 260 216 is a good choice?I have the same exact system as this guy does and there isnt a game i cant crank. You cant tell the difference between this and a gtx 285 unless your playing very high rez.GTX 260 216 gets great performance even to this day
Well i got my gtx 260 216 overclocked to OCX speed which can keep with a gtx 285 in many games.I went from 34 FPS 1680x1050 16Q AA 16X AF to 43 fps with the overclock a stock gtx 285 couldnt even do that wih a similiar cpu.and all for 150$ less
I thought about sli with my gtx but then id need a new mobo so instead im grabbing a radeon 5870 in a few weeks.trying to future proof myself alittle bit more.Plus my game of choice right now is arma 2 and ATI cards seem to run those better then nvidia.nice system you got tho i heard gtx 260 sli pretty much hangs with a gtx 295
I've got the exact same rig as you to the tee. Were you experiencing any massive frame rate drops when glass would shatter? I've got my E8400 OC'd to 3.6GHz RAM at 1066MHz and some slight OC done to the card with EVGA Precision. I'm starting to get stumped. All reviews and forums read state I can get 60+fps with this setup. Yet it drops WELL below 20fps when glass explodes. Thoughts??
Maybe a bad driver install? trying un installing the driver, then running CCleaner and install latest drivers, not sure if theirs a patch for this maybe you could patch it?
Theres something wrong my rig i suppose if i play with 16xq the fps would come down to 30 and this game looks kinda laggy at those frames.I only got 2gb 800mhz of ram ,do you think thats the problem? ,and i got a q6600@3.0ghz on a a 680imobo

Not to be rude or anything, but it's getting kind of old now. :3
Also, I hope you ordered the "Core-216" version.
FunnyMcBunny 2 years ago
It's kinda old, true. But still a good performer card vs price.
It's one of the "Bang for the buck" cards out there, along with HD4870 and maybe GTX275 and HD4890.
But the last 2 are really good for the price, but if you don't need that much performance, then GTX 260 (Core 216), is a really good choise.

Ofc is a GTX 260 216 a very good performer.
But in some games, it will still be better with GTX 275. No doubt..
And ofc you can see the diffrence in games between a GTX 260 and GTX 285.. Who plays at all on low when you got a high-end gfx?
Unless you play Tetris, you can see difference.

Well, that's an OC'ed version ;)
I'm talking about the stock clocked ;)
And ofc, a GTX 260 is more performance/ pr dollar.
I own 2x GTX 260 216 Clocked, and they are rreally nice ! ;)
Kicks all games asses at 1920x1200 all maxed ;D

ye.. If I was in a need to buy new GFX, I would maybe pick up a 5870 ;)
GTX 260 216 SLi performs near to GTX 295 +/- in some games.. But my setup costs nearly 1000kr less ( 1kr is 6 dollars)
So I've saved alot by picking up 2 of those instead of 1 GTX 295 :P
Wakzi 2 years ago
smart move no doubt if i had a sli board id get a 2nd gtx 260 for 159.00 would save me alot of money.

ye ;)

1 kr isn't 6 dollars, it's the opposite. 1 dollar is 6 kr. If 1kr would be 6 dollars then that would be "6000 $ less".
Lol. :D

Lol ye ofc ;)
Type mistake I guess^^

@Wakzi dont buy a 5870 there not doing that well get like 2 5770s there faster then a 5870 and GTX 295

@67CopperHead
Thank you for your advice ;)
But currently, I don't have any plans to buy new gfx ;)
But you're 100% right. 2x 5770's would be a better pick ;)

I've got same card ;) & i've got about 70-75 fps.
and same like royraiden - about 30 fps with gta IV with optimal settings. ...
JackGSF 3 years ago
how much fps do you get with physx enabled and what rez are running?
royraiden 3 years ago
60 fps, 40 fps while recording with fraps, maximum settings 1280x1024
madmaxwhatever 3 years ago
I get around 45-60 with physx enabled on my gtx280 but i run at 1920x1200.How much AA was it?
royraiden 3 years ago
In this vid 4x I think but I normally play 16x q and still get 60, 45 lowest I think

you said you play in higher resolution, I'm sure it's ok, plus, this game is very optimized, gta iv optimization is a piece of crap
madmaxwhatever 3 years ago
I have it and im so mad at rockstar even at the suggested settings i get like 15-26fps,that sucks
royraiden 3 years ago
What's the difference between just regular 16x and 16x q, I know it doesn't relate to this video but there is the same thing on Counter-strike source
