I believe it was Rex and King who beat Garea and Martel for the titles. Spot later joined the Moondogs and filled in for King in the match where they lost the titles.

  • Moondogs actually won a match in the WWF; i don't believe it

  • This had to have been some time before the Moondogs were relegated to jobber status.

  • DiCarlo worked all over the country from the '60s to the early '80s. There aren't too many places where he didn't wrestle. Usually lower midcard but jobbed as well.

  • Hearing this ring announcer brings back a lot of memories...like him announcing Greg the Hammer Valentine winning the Intercontinental championship...

  • That atually was executed a lot better than Demolition did it most of the time.

  • Would love to see two fresh faces form The New Millenium Moondogs. Bring back a retro style tag team.

  • i've got just one question. Just What the Hell is a Moondog anyway?

  • @herbertkearse A tribute to the late Moon Dog Lonnie Mayne. When he came to WWWF in early 1973 he was a heel managed by Lou Albano. Albano botched a promo with Mayne where he started out calling Mayne Mad Dog (which it was supposed to be) and then called him Moon Dog. They decided they liked Moon Dog better and he used it the rest of his life. The term actually doesn't mean much - it comes from the old Alan Freed radio show in the '50s, "The Moondog Matinee".

I don't know exactly what a "moondog" was in real life. But I did have a dream in October 1986 (when I was 14) that I saw Moondog Spot air-ski off the back of a Boeing 727 jetliner as it climbed into the air (the same way one would water ski off a motorboat).

  • Ron Hutchinson train christian cage

  • Nick DeCarlo actually did a Piper's Pit segment, circa 1984 or 1985.

  • Does anyone remember when Ron Hutchinson had to fight King Kong Bundy? I think it was Maple Leaf Wrestling. He got splashed something like 10 times!! LOL! They had to scrape him off the mat after that. That's what you get for having sissy hair in the squared circle. :)

  • ron Hutchinson, he trained Edge and Christian, right?

  • Back in the day, I loved watching Nick jobb to heel's such as the Moondog's. Altho he usually got some good shots in, the better part of the match was seeing Nick take the punishment's he so well deserved. Nick....U were one of the best jobbers WWF ever put in the ring. You took it, and always came back for more!

  • The demolition finisher was what Rex brought to the team when he was part of Demolition. When Culley was let go, they kept the finisher...the old 'Dogs finisher.

  • I've been saying the same thing for years, about the Finisher. Thanks for posting this video!

  • demolition finisher.i don't remember the moondogs ever winning.

  • Ron Hutchinson....best jobber ever!
