  • Stunning...whatched it Twice with a boner in my pants...Fuckin awesome and flawless performence, the only thing that bothered...."Headmicrophones" ;)))), although, you can scream "Wooooooman" in any direction u want

  • The best live performance i´ve ever seen ... Queensrýche are the best band ever

  • Damn. Remember when MTV did this stuff? So great.

  • ***NOTE!!!*** NO AUTO-TUNE, NO FANCY GIMMICKS, NO BULLSHIT!!! NOT NECESSARY!!! TOTAL, ULTIMATE, UNADULTERATED, STRAIGHT-AHEAD, KICK-ASS ROCK AND ROLL!!!

  • the guy in the front at 2:34 : Where is the fucking band i can hear them but can't see them. XD

  • @1996DJoowie I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time.

  • ok I"ll I know is this song Rocks!!!!!

I play it every Friday night at the bar somehow I missed this band in the 80's

  • These guys were awesome back then...Operation Mindcrime and Empire are my fav albums from them.

  • Dude to chick at 4:23--"Do you REALIZE what you are witnessing right now? The best live performance of the best song by the best band. You WILL be putting out tonight."

  • I wish I were able to witness these guys in their prime

  • Geoff Tate is one of my favorite singers EVER

  • great live performance! But this are the good times-no more Queensryche without Chris deGarmo

  • Very melodic hard rock band

  • es bueno conocer grandiosas bandas siempre, y es una vieja según cuentas

  • Can't believe I used to wear spandex shorts too :)

  • The real music video for this song was filmed in my home town and my dad was kinda sorta in the music video.

  • Outstanding outdoor live performance...wish I was there right now. :)

  • Sounds just as good live as in studio!! amazing vocals!

  • @HillBillyF100 One of the VERY RARE AND FEW performers that can do that it seems.

Everyone else? They go into a studio and everything comes out digitally cleaned up and magically pretty.

Then they get on stage...and SOUND LIKE SHIT. Which is...pretty much MOST of the bands today.

These guys came from an era where you couldn't do that bullshit and get away with it.

FUCK newer music. Nearly ALL of it is FAKE, MASS-PRODUCED SHIT. Just like the "artists".

    Long live the old school.

  • @cyrylthewolf no...just the popular new stuff

  • @mikethemotormouth Huh? Did you click the wrong "reply" button there? LOL

  • @cyrylthewolf how do you mean?

  • @cyrylthewolf very well said!!! ;)

  • I miss Chris DeGarmo, but they still effin' rock! Just saw them in SF on Oct 2nd!

  • These guys are amazing live. So tight. Such a great band with a great sound.

  • esse musica é loka do caralho , parabens pelo post !!!

  • fuck i love queensryche

  • got pulled oever to day pulling out off school and cop let me go because of this song was playing

  • EMERALD CITY!!

  • 15 people got caught in the jet engine

  • Queensryche is one of my favorites. I recently saw Geoff Tate in the documentary “Programming the Nation.” I think it’s a must-see for all Queensryche fans. bit. ly/pVmk9U

  • +1 @ Super Juggalo, hilarious and totally true!

  • Awesome! Any band that sounds the same live as the record is f@cking incredible. However WTF is with the bicycle shorts Geoff? Kurt Loder you are and always will be the biggest douche in the history of the world!

  • Damn this is awesome and so close to the album version.. Respect, total respect.

  • @MrTopHatCat Yes you are right on this ..Journey is more like RUSH or STYX mild rock. But Queensryche is Heavy metal like Judas Preist or Kix.

  • @CBAsystems I mean no offense to you, but as a HUGE fan of Queensryche, Rush and Journey fan I've got to tell you that Journey and Rush are two of the most different bands there are. Journey is pop with some nice moments where Neil Schon shreds, but Rush IS progressive rock- not pop. Rush did have some weird albums in the early eighties after Moving Pictures where Geddy went a bit nuts with keyboards (but that was an exception to what Rush had already established itself as being).

  • @StratMatt777 Oh I agree none taken at all but seems that each band had Nastalga behind them and what they SANG was original and they were known for that see like STYX or RUSH or JOURNEY hell even THe KIx a Heavy Metal band had originality --today every Drone and most girls and guys look like each other ie the FOOD in my opinion have ZIP for originality or personality and that is why MUSIC sucks today big time no Humanity just voices made perfect by teh ELECTRONICS that they sing into I am SURE!

  • @CBAsystems Yes- good point! 80's and 90's bands were ORIGINAL and genuine, with some history and nostalgia to them. The only mainstream music from the last several years that is any good that I can think of while typing this is Jason Mraz, early Maroon 5, Cee Lo Green/Gnarls Barkley, Alter Bridge, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Evanescense's first album from 2004, ummm... and ROCK is dead! All of the amazing musicians of the past didn't have internet, video games and cable TV to distract them fm music!

  • @StratMatt777 Thank you; I do agree & I have so many times heard the garbage that makes music today cut off literally from the big synthesizer and it sounds so horrible it would scare the dead...Kids buy anything today and sad!!...... they never knew talent like we did. Just keep all double back up on those music champs from 1980s cause never make that again.

  • @MrTopHatCat No sorry this is not any POP music it's Metal Heavy metal waeeeeeeeer! If you want the ultimate of all bands ever in history is Journey...that is like The greatest metal band ever A LEGEND!

  • Was @ the "Ryche" in So. cal when I was 15 @ Long Beach Arena. Parents picked us up. . Way ahead of the others. Genius.. They really influenced evertything I ever did as a "rock star". After my first listen with "Queen of the Rhyche"it was on!!!! Ah, to be so young and a I owe Geoff gartitude for his teachings. Mom taught his ass wll!! LOL! ,

  • Got to see them twice, Mindcrime and Empire tours

  • man, i love it when bands play live just like they do on the album.

  • what a performance!!! Love it!!!

  • ok i did not post the other post that said i did that was my brat brother

  • lol love this song

  • why cant i unmute this song????????

  • hell yea queensryth rocks. im in a tribute band and we sound just like em. im the lead guitarist

  • is that a danish flag behind the drummer??

  • queensryches is fuk awesome live still live

  • wow there lead singert is so fuk good live wow! still after all those years! queensryche is gona be awesome cant wait for portland or rockfest1

  • will be seeing them with 9 other kick ass bands at portland rockfest aug 28 hillsboro oregon 55 dp all that remains korn chevelle ect gona be sic wow queesryche sounds fuk awesome1

  • will be seeing them with 9 other kick ass bands at portland rockfest aug 28 hillsboro oregon 55 dp all that remains korn chevelle ect gona be sic

  • This is THE quintessential 80's drumkit! I love it. Huge drum kit with a rack with cymbals hanging down and chains. Amazing. I remember being very young and hearing this song.

  • Even the security guards are bobbing their heads!! :P

  • Each generation and era has left its mark on the arts. Music is especially different. What is certain is that each has had poor, good, and great representations of musical talent and creativity. Queensryche is GREAT!

  • Way cool how Lars just walks by, messing up the take...lol

  • I love this song

  • this is MUSIC and it well live for EVER

  • Ed's tattoo... what is it?

  • This is a complete song. This is how music gets magic. I have loved this song for over 20 years and I NEVER get tired of listen too it. Amazing. Thank U Queensryche ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • still love that drumset!!!!!!!

  • what an incredible performance, hands down!

  • Omg. That was the days. Holy Shit ! Wish life was so simple like that now.

  • the rock now totally sucks compared to the old school. as long as im a live so is old school rock n roll

  • geoff tate looks funny in shorts hahaha

  • @hellsingrules1 I agree...looks like some guy that plays 80's music...oh whoops ;)

  • Hell!! I wish I could've been there!! Soundgarden, Faith No More, and Metallica too??!!!

  • Real artists sound just like, if not better, than their CD in Concert. Case in point.

  • Let's go old school

  • ive never heard a bad TATE vocal!! no such thing !! He kicks EVERYONES Ass

  • real pipes like an opera singer...these guys explode everybody else.

  • What a performance!! Saw them back in the early 90's in Hartford, CT with Concrete Blonde as the opener.

  • I seen them December 14th 1990 at the san diego sports arena. Front row left center. Usually at the front all you hear is static, not with these guys crystal clear every note all night. One of the best performances I have ever seen.

  • These guys can actually sing! Usually a live performance, especially one this big, is the tell............

  • back when people could harmonize.

pink floyd, def lep, queensryche, boston, eagles, queen, kansas are just a few bands that come to mind

  • I think historically, bands sounded way better live than recorded. Now, with auto-tune and all this digital shit, it is much easier to sound good in the recording process. So we get bands that have great sounding records and sound like complete shit live. I am glad these bands could actually play.

  • DrummerGirl....It was hot outside....jealous?

  • DrummerGirl....It was hot outside....jealous?

  • Why do guitarists always look like they're having orgasms when they play? And of course, he has his shirt open enough to show his chest. So silly.

  • For my BB from your Jet City Woman

  • Geoff Tate is one of my favorite singers of all time!!! Love him!!! And in the eighties, he was drool-worthy..lol!

  • 668th

  • lol there are 666 comments, but I am going to ruin that now, sorry guys ;3

  • @Cane666Taros

    Now there are 669!

    Bow to the Devil!

  • THANK GOD THANK GOD I was fortunate enough to be in my 20s and 30s when this was when talent real talent was making music....bands like this and Iron Maiden and Judas Priest....kids today have trash like freaks----LADY WA WA.

  • @CBAsystems i wish i was alive back then im 13 and i hate the new shit thats out these days im the only person in my school who has even heard of queensryche LONG LIVE METAL!!!

  • @TheGizmo990 Thank you- I feel so much for you younger guys and gals today ---I remember the days when so much REAL talent flooded the market and now world is pure machines....KIDS today know at least that the singers cannot sing without synthesizers ""AT ALL""..trust me ...they even lip sync. at concerts...I can see that blinded.

I would recommend one group though ---"Dragon Force"; they are experts with the strings>> Keep rocking !

  • @CBAsystems Dragonforce is just fast sensless nonsense. No emotion like this

  • @KISSAceGenePaulPete1 I know --stupid why they play like they are in some hurry?

  • @TheGizmo990 IKR!! I think I'm the only person at my school who knows this kind of music at all!!

  • @TheGizmo990 The reason why old farts like me still hang on to this ancient stuff is because this generation isn't able to produce and/or publish anything anywhere near those skills in songwriting, instrument playing and singing. You're doing great kid. Check out Dream Theater if you haven't come across them yet. Them and Queensryche are among the best still left from the good old 80's.

  • @irelandexplorer thanks! I agree with americas just not that musicly gifted anymore i think and is mostly infected by pop culture, I mean sure theres still a lot of people who love the 80s and 60s but theres way more people who think this music is garbage I am officially disappointed in america.

  • @TheGizmo990

good lad, just like me dude. im 21 now, but was listening to this when i was 13 even though my mates didnt understand it!!!

  • @TheGizmo990 Kid, buy a guitar! Your generation needs you!!!

  • @StratMatt777 ive had a guitar for sometime now and my awesome dad who got me into music has been teaching me for about a year now.

  • @TheGizmo990 Cool! So do you already know that you need a Humbucker pickup in the bridge position of your guitar for rock and Queensryche? What are you currently playing? Also once you are good at lead playing you'll want an overdrive pedal and delay pedal (if you don't have a modelling amp that has those onboard effects) and perhaps a tube amp (but modelling amps are much better than they used to be when I bought my tube amp in 2001). I have the QR sound! Listen on Empire: track 4 @4:44.

  • @StratMatt777 yeah, right now im focusing on blues. but me and my friends are going to do living after midnight by judas priest for my school talent show and im the lead guitar

  • @TheGizmo990 Ryche was my favorite and still is since I was 13 myself, and now im 39!

  • @TheGizmo990 I think its considered weird for a 24 year old to tell internet people hes 13

  • @skiswek im not 24 my pc has some stupid guard shit on it so wheneveri try to make an account on something i have to make it way older

  • @TheGizmo990 Very happy to see that you are into good music and not that noise they call rap music cant call it music when there is no instruments in it

  • @424supertrucker sometimes there are drums and guitar in it, therefore it is music =]

I like rock though, but eminem is pretty cool aswell

  • @CBAsystems I have seen Judas Priest, Queensryche, and Iron Maiden in concert and they are awesome!

  • @CBAsystems I suspect that 13 people like Lady Wa Wa when they hit the DISLIKE button.

  • @CBAsystems Amen! They were always SO on point with that line-up (I mean, just listen to them here for God's sake!) Whilst the 90's sucked for most music genres, metal was going thru a real renaissance, and I agree with you - I'm so glad I was there to experience bands like Queensryche, Tool, Saigon Kick, Soundgarden, Warrior Soul, Corroision of Conformity, Kyuss, Love/Hate, Badlands et all...

  • @fanguk2 yes we were so lucky then VERY Lucky---but I see it just like everything else in USA right this second...I consider those the Golden Years of USA 1980s to 1992 after that it's been getting to living hell; both Music, Economy, especially TV entertainment ---one thing has gotten super good though is Computers and video games...thank god ,,something to do

  • @CBAsystems Damn straight. Couldn't stand being a kid these days. Today's commercialism is killing art and talent bit by bit.

  • @irelandexplorer Well if you are into this music like I am then reserve your ticket for big event coming to my part of USA it's called Outlaw Jam and it's going to have about 10 major rock bands playing in concert outside--Poison Motley Crew,Shooter Jennings ect ect look it up I am going if I have to camp out for that...

  • @CBAsystems D'love to but i live in Ireland, Europe. I'll be seeing them a bit closer in Bournemouth/England this summer.

  • @CBAsystems Cool ---well ever come here come around JULY cause best time in America--Gettysburg has huge BIKE Week and tons to do....have fun...

  • Tate reminds me of mike patton and axl rose in this performance..

  • amazing performance ... one of the best live songs i've heard 0_0

  • were going to wait 10 years when the music is in haha! they called it! and they also did come out with new music -_o

  • I mean no disrespect, but fuck missing the 90's( or the 80's,or70's and so on) the music should live on thru US, the fans. Whether it's downloads, concert tickets, watching Youtube, or buying cd's/dvd's.It is ultimately up to US to keep the music we LOVE alive.

  • the 90's rocked

  • This is my favorite song by these badasses, and I must agree that it is truly perfect. As is required of any genuinely epic tune, we begin slowly, the voice haunting, and gradually it builds, steadilly increasing with urgency, building more and more, until ultimately you find yourself in the throes of an F5 hurricaneof a chorus(with a hook that could land a whale). The guitar virtuosity is the icing on this cake. What a monster. Truly a masterpiece. Good luck topping this one, boys.

  • AWESOME.....Saw them open for KISS many years ago...They blew KISS away...

  • I was at that show. Before Metallica went on, people were pulling up grass and dirt and throwing it into the air, creating a virtual grass-storm. Once there was no grass left on the "green," they threw plastic cups. It was a constant maelstrom of plastic cups for like an hour and a half. I never saw anything like it before or since

  • Amazing performance!

  • Queensryche - the thinking man's metal band!

  • just like on cd .sick

  • One of the best songs on guitar hero 6 and they need to put it on rock band 3.

  • the Northwest forgotten band.

  • @Funkygotcha, nah. They're not really forgotten, just underrated.

  • @MrPman851 I never here anyone talk about Queensryche anymore. And they really never really got their due respect for how talented of a band they are.

  • @Funkygotcha, Queensryche is better known in the Pacific Northwest (they're from Seattle in case you don't know) and in the metal underground and nowadays is gaining some newfound respect in the metal communities. SInger Geoff Tate appeared on metal music shows such as VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show".

  • @MrPman851 I live in bellevue the actual city they're from. That's why i say this. you don't hear about them out here anymore.

  • @Funkygotcha, I believe ya. But there are people in the Northwest and certain headbangers in the world that remember Queensryche for Mindcrime. Just log onto ANY Queensryche fansite on the internet and if possible through word of mouth, spread the word to anyone who loves heavy metal music like you and I do.

  • @MrPman851 well of course if you go onto any bands fan website you're gonna get just type of opinon. Out here they still play about every band that has been big in the Northwest such as Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix ect..but you wont hear Queensryche here. They took a back seat to bands like GNR and Nirvana in their hay day.

  • @Funkygotcha Yep, I'm in Seattle and Queensryche is my favorite band... anytime I mention Queensryche I get a blank look and then remind them of "Silent Lucidity"... often they are clueless. Except for the people at work since I work where Chris Degarmo works (don't ask cuz I'm not telling)! Chris is like the nicest guy on the planet- you'd never know he was ever a big star cuz he doesn't act like it. You can see how down-to-earth all the guys are when you watch the "Building Empires" DVD.

  • 13 justin bieber fans

  • I am not a fan of Queensryche, that is to say untill my cousin dragged me to the Queensryche Caberat show at the House of Blues in Houston, and they kicked so much ass. This guy can sing and the show they put on was insane. Defienatly recomend them to anyone live.

  • wow this live performance is just as good if not better than the studio version..... i typically hate live music because the singers always tend to fuck it up but geoff kills this song.... his voice actually makes me cream jeans.

  • DAY ON THE GREEN!!!!! I miss those shows!!!

  • THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AWESOME !! :)

  • This song,as the rest of Queensryche's music,Outstanding, this song just gives me

goose bumps!!!!!!!!.....Lol!!! Geoff's voice compared to Halfords??.....A big YES!!

And then some??.......just an oustanding Kick Ass Band these guys are!!!!!!!

  • Queensryche Gods of Metal, Fantastic band!

  • RIP Brother.... Miss you .... this bring back so many memories... you driving us to school... love ya.....

  • queensryche forever..

  • I hope that they dont get played out now that they are on guitar hero, every band that is on guitar hero gets played out like Metallica they are still cool though

    Ryche & Roll Forever

  • Guitar hero 6.

  • Alot of heavy rock bands suck live, but these guys sound better than their recordings! Awesome

  • OMG, awesome, pure awesome!

  • This is a rare gem; I thankfully recorded it to hi-fi vhs 19 years ago and since transferred to DVD; one of my favs in my QR archive for sure!

  • and unlike some crap bands Geoff Tate can actually sing.

  • Comment removed

  • Yea, I love this!!!! Oldschool. . .

You guys should checkout new school if you're into this.

Parker Lundgren, their new guitarist, just put out an incredible tune.

Called 'Don't Wake Me Up' on iTunes. . . totally worth it. Gave me chills up my spine.

  • when degarmo left, the band suffered for it big time.... and so did we... still love the ryche though

  • Guitar hero 6 beatch.

  • the interview was stupid-kerd you suck

  • Great fucken rockband, they kick ass.

  • aah yeaaah, tate rocks... even in his biker shorts !!

  • one of the best live performances i have ever seen....wow just unreal

  • Fucking AWSOME!! I lLOVE These Guys! what an ass kicking Live Tune!

  • awesome, professional tight and smokin' QUEENSRYCHE ROCK'S

  • wow.. these guys are really tight, proficient musicians.

  • Wonderfully executed live- a great song by a great band. Can we all please start a movement to BRING BACK ROCK! If I hear Adam f@cking Lambert and Lady Ga Ga again I'm gonna lose it...I'm getting my band back together...

  • MTV SUCKS!! BIGGEST HYPOCRITES OUT THERE!!

  • Queensryche fucking rocks! Geoff Tates is a very good singer.

  • @lisaleslie76 can't believe live and studio queensryche sounds the same, that tells you they busted they're ass off to success, unlike bands like dragonforce who have effects and loops to get famous.

  • @Plague6669

    I agree!

  • @lisaleslie76 Yes. But its sad what's happening with is voice now.

  • Chris DeGarmo is an awesome guitar player.

  • No head bangers allowed here

  • Intro lick is just amaizing, can't stop playing it...

  • what year is this? thanks for answer :)

  • Haven't seen this paticular performance since 1991.The whole consert line-up was awesome.

  • geoff tate is fucking awesome

    Queensryche is the law

  • I don't know how they can play this shit with the Sun turned on

  • best band ever made!

  • Queensryche rules!

  • why do i think i hear a rhythm guitar during the guitar solo?

is that the bass with added distortion or a backing guitar track?

  • @pete25901 umm... ok, Use your head man... THINK

Oh that's easy, there's something new called a 'Rhythym' guitarist playing.

You can see him in :24 playing to the drummer's right side, (Our left)

The cameras don't really show him a lot, and again during the guitar solo jamming with the bassist.

The bassist has his own set of chords to play, and can't play the guitarists, without a LOT of work. Sure he might play the same notes in the range of the guitar's but not very often.

  • oops i did not notice the rhythm guitar dude.

In Rush geddy lee sometimes plays with a distorted sound that is sorta like a guitar sound, he does it in tom sawy
