@Miike92 actually, i have a 1987 monte carlo SS that still has the original motor (but im replacing that with a 350) and i havent had a single problem with it or had to dump money into it, in fact i drag it too (yes, this 305 has some balls!). when it comes to reliability i dont think its the car that matters all that much, but how well you take care of it (changing you oil when you should, tune ups every now and then, etc). its 23 yrs old and runs better than most of these new cars!

@Miike92 actually, i have a 1987 monte carlo SS that still has the original motor (but im replacing that with a 350) and i havent had a single problem with it or had to dump money into it, in fact i drag it too (yes, this 305 has some balls!). when it comes to reliability i dont think its the car that matters all that much, but how well you take care of it (changing you oil when you should, tune ups every now and then, etc). its 23 yrs old and runs better than most of these new cars!

@Lifewontwait29 Not true. I had a '77 Nova and it was less reliable than my '02 Honda Accord I currently own. My Accord currently has 111,000 miles and nothing broke. I can't say that about the GMs and Ford I have owned.

@43m1garand hondas are probably some of the most reliable cars out there, i see ones burning oil and have rod knocks and still run. But for a car guy if you know how to take care of your car it should always be reliable

@Lifewontwait29 I take care of my cars. My '02 Accord I bought new and it still looks new. If a car is junk when it leaves the factory then it doesn't matter how well you treat it. Junk in, junk out. I treat the GMs I used to own the same way I treat my Honda. The GMs always broke while my Honda never has.

@TJC450 the difference is Japan is a Monarchy not a democracy and much of Japans industry is government owned all ready what GM did is unconstitutional but if you could read i am not defending Honda i didn't even mention Honda i just saying GM is a P.O.S they build P.O.S vehicles, and if they didnt then why after stealing 59.9 billion dollars unconstitutionally from the tax payers why did they file for bankruptcy within months of the bail out.

Not exactly; Japan isn't a true monarchy, per se. It hasn't been one since the end of WWII. It's a constitutional monarchy.
There is a Japanese Emperor but, like the Royalty of Britain, the role is mostly ceremonial. The real power lies within the elected Prime Minister and the Diet (nothing to do with food).
However, the Japanese are economic nationalists.

They import more than half their food. And what about Oil? Or steel? Japan doesn't have as many natural resources as you think. But they manage them incredibly well.

Japan had also kept the yen weak against western currencies to ensure that Japanese exports are cheaper than domestic product in import markets as well as to sell their product cheaper overseas than in their local market (dumping).

But, yes, Japan has almost no natural resources of its own. But that doesn't change its economic policy favoring and protecting the Japanese economy at the expense of its trading partners.
