  • This explains why my head smacked into the bottom of the pool and blacked me out for a second.... guess I was never properly taught what to do with my hands. Thanks for the video!

  • This is a good video if you're trying to learn how to do the flip turn but if you're wondering how to get it faster or you're already on a competitive team this video isn't good.

  • @irishdance1218 That's why it's step 3 in learning how to do a flip turn. There are other vids if you want to get fast. Go to our website and search for "flips". Vids there.

  • My turns have been bothering me lately, when I flip, I can see my hands come out of the water instead of them being at my sides. Will that slow me down? I wouldn't think so, my turns are the same when I keep them in the water, but for some reason without even thinking about it, my hands come out of the water before I go into streamline. Should I tuck them in? My coach hasn't yelled at me for doing that yet, :/ Hmm...

  • i keep flipin at an angle to the wall

  • Quick tip: The tighter your legs are the faster your flip will be

  • i can't seem to relax my hands... its been 3 weeks but i'll keep on trying. thanks for the tip. its very useful.

  • excellent and very clear, thanks

  • I especially liked the "rather than swimming into the wall part" :)) Just kidding, nice video! Thanks!

  • i dont get water in my nose but i get water in my left ear lol

  • Thank u guys, this video is great!

  • you have the best videos,, thank you very much---no one here has a clue as to how to improve yourself... i have a lot of bad habits from old days in competition and am re- learning my stroke again and really enjoying being back in the water....thanks for all the tips from the readers... keep the videos coming...I want to be better than when i competed as a young shrimp.

  • this is great.. all these years I have done the turn wrong,,,thanks for the tips... long, bad habits are hard to break.

  • but the water goes into my nose... how to solve it?

  • @Billy3032572 - Nose plugs or humming. Close your mouth and hum during the flip... you need to force air to come OUT of your nose during the flip so water can't go in. If you have a hard time with that, use nose plugs. It's much better than struggling with trying to fix it.

  • @goswim098 can you teach my mermaid to swim? lol im only joking

  • @Billy3032572 breathe out with your nose during that period

  • @Billy3032572 I had that same problem!

  • i really want to try this, but would anyone else feel like a wally practising at their local pool? :P

  • @billypony yup. I've stopped doing them as the lifeguards must litteraly piss themselves whilst i'm thrashing about like Mick Dundee wrestling a croc
