  • even though this commercial has a great meaning, in my media class i learned that the same company that owns dove owns axe. and Axe commercials dont have that great of a meaning....

  • I'm buying Dove from now on... to support this wonderful campaign :)

  • Why do I never see this on TV?

  • @thePANDASgirl13 you know....they call him money

  • It's not so much just being thin anymore, I feel absolutely terrible everytime I look into the mirror because I don't have perfect skin, or perfect hair, or perfect anything because perfection doesnt exist! PHOTOSHOP does. And eventhough I know that the commercials and magazine ads have been photoshopped too death, I still feel ugly and not good enough. It's sad how I consider myself to be quite a strong young woman and still feel the constant pressure from the media.

  • what really bothers me is everyone says it always women and girls under pressure but people fail to realize is guys are under as much pressure as women are to look good

  • @sjm8890 that is a good point. It is important that we look at the influence on both genders. Thank you for pointing that out. :)

  • @mateeah just speeking from experience

  • are there any video's similar to this? another one i know is beauty pressure, also by dove.

  • Males are actually under more pressure. You see the people on the cover of fitness magazines? Women could attain that form through a bit of jogging and yoga. For a male to attain the physique shown on muscle and fitness mens health etc they have to lose fat and gain large amounts of muscle only men like that can get women like that.

  • @Hegemonia20 siike not true at allll!!! im asuming ur not agirl so u have nooo idea how hard it is to loose weight as a woman!

  • @Hegemonia20 yeah but women accept men even if they have beer guts. It's men themselves that have that obsession.Women do enjoy toned bodies but rarely do they like the ''men's health'' type who is as you said very difficult to obtain. But men (and to be fair women),not only can they accept women with extra kilos as women but some can't even accept them as human beings.

  • @Hegemonia20

You obviously have no clue what pressure is on girls. Why do you think its the women who go anorexic? Why do you think men dont wear makeup? Because men are way more visual then women. We women honestly do not care if a man has a six-pack, sure, its nice to look at, but it means nothing to us. And you think you can attain a perfect body through a bit of yoga and jogging? You have no clue. Men loose weight easier because they have a higher muscle mass. Get your facts straight.

  • mmm... hypocrites, DOVE is riding low-esteem all the way to the bank

  • i just LOVE that they probably chose from over thousands of girls for this commercial..and picked 'pretty' ones.. and already skinny ones...and ones that already have clear skin... not really.

  • don't u love how they use beautiful and ALREADY skinny girls?!? i mean really ppl!

  • @crazysox99 I KNOW!!!

  • @RandomStuffCentral IKR! IT'S ANNOYING AND ALARMING!

  • Bullshit. doves send thousand of comercials over the air about how beatyfull we should look. then it wants to help a few hundred girls . PLEASE!!!

    Ban dove. Dove Onslaught(er)

  • I must admit this is nice and all but the don't really need money to give girls self esteem, they just made up a reason to give them more money. Yes girls are under pressure, but dove, you aren't exactly helping.

  • This is so sad and true. I've always been made fun of for being overweight, and I'm always jealous of other slimmer girls. Sometimes I wish I could do a self-eesteem workshop, but I don't have enough self-esteem to say I want to do one. :(

  • so what dove 'beauty' product should I buy? The tanning lotion, the firming range, the anti ageing..oh excuse me, pro age products...

These work shops are a noble thing to do but Dove cant pretend that they are not part the problem whilst pretending to be the solution.

  • I've had horrible self esteem issues since I was eight, unfortunately. I can't believe I started comparing myself to other girls at that age.

  • only stupid week minded little hoes feel the pressure to be perfect. you are what you are. the only guy that like fake whorea are little thugs.

  • poor little girl>...the industry concerned should pay attention to this! this is serious!

  • this commercial makes me almost cry every time I see it :) I'm blonde, 6ft 2, tanned, slim/athletic build, bright green eyes, qualities that other girls would like to have but never overly happy with myself. We live in a perfectionist society but at the end of the day, what is perfection?!

  • what is the name of the song you used?

  • I blame the negative reinforcements from the Disney Channel (Hanna Montanna)

  • agree lol

  • @RileyRichardz Hannah Montana (the show, not Miley) was fine, but I think Shake It Up should be banned.

  • what song is this?!

  • This is one of the driving forces that put me into media!

  • Gaahhh, shit like this makes me go into a feminist rage! Not because of the commercial, but because they're pointing out the ridiculous pressure girls face nowadays. It's just so sickening.

  • ... Did you just contradict yourself?

  • It's not ridiculous. It's very legitimate. A lot of girls feel like this.

  • Well, if someone with the username xzdonutzx says you are an idiot, it MUST be true.

  • Why?

  • xzdonutzx...Why? Any particular reason?

  • are you sure is the tv?? is not the mirror??? :D

  • at some point it'd be nice if parents actually taught their kids to be confident, stop letting their young daughters dress up like trashy popstars, and kept them from reading the sleazy magazines from the age of 3...

yeah, kids (boys and girls alike) are exposed to way too much, way too early; but perhaps its because people allow it to happen...

(and don't even get me started on the crap young guys have to deal with these days)

  • The thing is that the message is being told to these girls younger and younger. You think older women have self-esteem issues, imagine these girls when they get older how badly they will be affected if it being in grained into them now. at the ages of 5,6,7 and 8 years old.

  • My daughter is seven. This makes me want to cry.

  • Pedobear approves.

  • i blame the media 4 makin girlz think that their not beautiful....but thnx 2 dove, many girlz now think their prtty the way they r

  • Really cool

  • Demi Lovato brought me here [:

I love these commercials soo much <3

  • it's a good advery, but most girls that age don't care about how they look. i think it'd be more effective if it was a girl more within the teen 12-17ish age group? just a thought

  • i disagree completely, i think it's more about how much the media exposes this to the younger younger generation. this is the age where the seeds are planted that you must be perfect or you aren't beautiful. i'm 14 and i remember wanting to go on a diet at 8.

  • Sadly that's not true. I've heard girls young as 5 saying they have to go on a diet when they are already super thin. Unfortunately it's hitting girls younger and younger.

  • i know it hiys younger girls too. but im talking about the majority

  • Yeah, I made my mom let me go on a diet when I was 7 years old because I really really thought the other girls in my class were so much smaller than I was and I felt very very left out.

  • Everyone is beautiful the way there are

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS?

  • I think if adults weren't so scared to call children beautiful, for fear of being branded a pedophile, then there wouldn't be so many children thinking they're ugly.

  • You are fucking nuts.

  • you are a ass, you are so friggin rude, so what, everybody's gotta be perfect to you? well sorry heres a news flash for you: NOBODY IS PERFECT!

  • this commercial is just great. thanks to dove

  • I love this commercial. Its about time somebody decided to make a commercial dealing with the pressure girls face today about being thin.

  • l also love the fact that this is an American commercial but the start of it is filmed in St Kilda, Australia.

  • i love this commercial!!
