This is by the bus station on 3rd. St., just a few blocks from where I filmed mine. We got pretty thrashed over here. Love watching another video taken at the exact same time from so close by. You probably saw me walking around afterward right past your appartment. watched people stealing sheets of metal that had blown off and street signs...it was pretty entertaining. Lucky for us, the devastation was really limited to the trees.

do you live near downtown? i live near stuart place road. It was pretty intense there. The gate to our backyard was blown open. So me and my dad went out during the hurricane to secure it and man, it was pretty intense.
Thanks for posting. People who weren't here really trivialized Dolly. Your footage captured the flooding and distruction. The flooding and electrical outage was miserable.
ha how funny! your are walking right toward my house at the end. I had to stay in at that point cuz my daughter was freaked out but we walked around the next morning. It always floods right there huh?! bad drainage. Good video, hope ur shoes and cam survived ~ LOL :)
Homeboy lives somewhere near the downtown area. That whole area is OLD so it doesn't shock me to see a mess there. Kinda looks like before but with water.. lol
ok what really ticks me off is that some ppl made videos saying that they didint know this was gfonna hit!!!! what the heck!! it was allllllllllllllllll over the news 4 like 5 days!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, nice video! Might be a bit dangerous, but hey, you got the shot first hand. Reminds me a bit of a thunderstorm that came through here earlier, but obviously, it's like a 6 hour thunderstorm there.
lol agree w/you on the last statement.Unfortunately,we did not have power for 6 days & put up with the humidity!Anywho, generators always come in handy.
Nice vid. Looks like you're in the old 2-story brick apartment building at the SE corner of 3rd & Monroe, across from the bus station, right? I shot some short vid footage myself but haven't looked at it to see if it's worth posting. At the risk of sounding really old, Dolly was awesome, but nothing compared to Beulah that hit here in '67. I was just a little kid then, but remember it vividly--much more rain and much stronger winds than Dolly. Spent most of this storm being bored with no TV
man it was hardcore...but me and my cuzins were playing RockBand for 9 hours! we were thinkin pple r gonna b like "man, wat happened at ur house during the hurricane" and we will b all like "oh,yea,we were just playing rockband." lmao
Look out for the electricity that travels through the water, you seriously could have just died then. That video is stunning and scary, glad it is over. You are pretty brave.
holy crud, the nighttime footage was creepy as hell. Those clouds looked like they were ready to form a tornado.
Man, all of my family and friends live in Harlingen and experienced the fury of Hurricane Dolly. They were calling me nonstop all day/night for updates on it because none of them had power...
I loved watching all your videos, you have that ultra-cool attitude. That's how it must feel like being in a hurricane, not as those people on CNN or the Weather Channel pretend.
Hope to see more of you soon. Did something serious happen to your home or stuff?
Frank, meteorologist, Berlin, with greetings from Obama (been here today)
I hope you know that the most dangerous time of a hurricane is right after it. Especially right when it starts to calm down. It's stupid to be walking through flooded water--fun, but stupid. Those are good shots but you don't know if there is live wires or anything that could zap you or stab you. haha
I have been looking for violent footage of Hurricane Dolly and I finally found it!

Raymondville also got hit the hardest, we were the ones with the eye! which was pretty cool
beeanka18 3 years ago
the eye is the calmest part of the hurricane retard !!!!!
evilwaffle666 3 years ago
Yes but after the eye comes the eye wall which is the worst part of the hurricane
happylucio 3 years ago
port mansfield seemed to be hit the hardest, the hurricanes eye wall was of the coast for about 3 or 4 hours.
