Thank you for this amazing collection. Nitzer Ebb is definitely one of the most underrated bands ever. Their caliber is really quite remarkable, i wonder why they didn't enjoy more notoriety.
@DJEclipseNiagara Listening to this loud makes you feel like you can take on the world. This was always my pre club and concert song to get me pumped up. It never fails. I swear this song could wake someone from a coma.

Mid 80's, Niagara Falls Canada. Walk into only record store that sold non mainstream records in the whole Niagara Peninsula. Store is playing this. Buddy buys the album. Life forever changed.
Man I saw this empty album case bought from a pawn shop a few years ago and it pisses me off so bad that all these good bands are enjoyed by everyone else and I am the last to know! Where I live most of the people here think that whats on the radio or MTV is all there is and it PISSES me of even more! I am the only one in my town who will explore past mainstream hip hop and r&b. But at least there is youtube. Nitzer Ebb is awesome just wish I had found them sooner.
This song takes me back to when I first saw these guys live, let alone heard them for the first time. Seeing these guys open for Depeche Mode at Red Rocks Amphitheatre back in '90 was incredible. The energy that came off their set, and the raw power this track put through the crowd was undescribable.
@Lucaselef, i know what your talking about...i'm 40, as a Marine, I used to jam to this before each patrol mission in Mogadishu, Somalia...made me feel indistructible..worked every time.......sigh!
@Mephisto28890 A lot of people think synths sound like farts; once I played some of DAF (another EBM group) while around friends and they started laughing because they thought it was meant to be funny fart music.
@v73k1 Exactly, but most people don't realize that the music they hear on the radio isn't all the music that exists on this planet. So many people I know who claim to be fans of industrial listen only to NIN, it's embarrassing.
@v73k1 I'd venture to say that Reznor is responsible for a lot of the popularity of the genre. A pioneer? Sure. But not to the degree as many of those you listed. I think Reznor is frowned on a lot due to his success, but the guy is a genius with music and composition.
My friend and I started a group on facebook full of videos like this called The Industrial Complex. I've been making different playlists on my channel too full of different shit. Live for this!!!
I'm 43 now and remembered when this music was IT! This music WILL keep you young. I will go to my grave with this music in my blood! Very few bends today can PUMP IT like this.
@EnjoyTheSilence93 that would be a problem wouldn't it? sorry i didn't check your page first. nonetheless it was a great show. a little incongruous, but a must see at the time. depeche mode were on top of the world back then.
@captaindaring I did! That was a HELL of a show! I remember being almost diappointed when DM came on b/c the energy changed so much. Not at all saying that Nitzer Ebb is/was a better band....just that they got everyone dancing, they're obviously a lot harder. It just took a couple of songs by DM to switch gears. Regardless, one of the best shows ever!!!
@phedre06 i totally agree with you. i was worn out by the time DM came out. i was dripping with sweat. the energy that NE produced was frenetic. we all needed to catch our breath. thankfully DM didn't disappoint. it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. i was speechless when it was over. i think i was in a trance for the next week. that was an amazing time. what a great music scene. i also remember another great show that was sort of mismatched. it was the Sugarcubes, PIL, and.New order.
This is the kind of music you would see Arnold enter a bar, butt-naked, asking for someones clothes and then breaking some bones, butt-naked. Then he would go out, get a cool bike and saying "asta la vista" to the guys around him... butt-naked. :P
AH! I miss this shit! NE killed at the clubs back in the day. Opening for Depeche Mode was a let down. DM was playing too big of arena's at the time. It didn't suit NE. To be 16 again!
@isaacnelson1234 Hi Isaac. The first record "That total age" came out in 87. Those songs were played constantly at all the "alternative" clubs. The song we are commenting on came out in 1990. @Legendfin Yeah I saw Nitzer Ebb open up for Depeche Mode back in 89-90.... I liked Nitzer Ebb ALOT more than Depeche Mode and let me just tell you that they put on such an awesome and powerful show opening up with this track " Getting Closer" (which by the way is def one of my favs because the way the song starts off is soo intense with the drums and vocals)... @v73k1 Partly why they aren't my friends anymore. They're all still convinced that Trent Reznor is the pioneer of industrial music.
KingOfUm 6 months ago
@KingOfUm Reznor pioneer of industrial? He's just a guy who is inspired by many Industrial bands before him.
Ministry,Skinny Puppy,Throbbing Gristle those are the real pioneers of industrial.
As for EBM, pioneers would definitely be Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb.
Hell, if there were no D.A.F. there would be no Nitzer Ebb.
