I was just thinking of what she must have been like when she was a little girl. This woman was a child prodigy. I would bet money on it. There are so many pianists that can't play this well, that I think people should give concert pianists more credit. It really is phenomenal to have these skills. If you look at all the musicians in the world, these are the elite.
any pianist is able to show off playing Liszt´s piano music, specially his 19 rhapsodies, but just a few might be able to sound the closer possible to Liszt, here we have one
She has the best technique I've ever heard, and a good deal of expression in her playing as well. She's not just a robot like most pianists these days. She's a genuine musician.
im playing it, and im playing for a talent show soon. cant wait! and she plays beautifully. hamlin plays well, but this brings more light and beauty out of it. i also like how nelson fraire plays it too!
this is personally my favourite version ive seen so far, and i dont usually go by pianist.. ,though i love Hamelins playing, to me this version is more ALIVE than the otheres on youtube
Though technically inferior to Hamelin (or perhaps her piano to Hamelin's)... I like it more because she enjoyed her playing her piece. It was more vibrant, more clear, and more melodic.
magnificent passion and expression. bell-like tone almost on a horowitzian level (and i don't bandy about that word lightly). she's one of the few modern pianists from whom i consistently get feeling - and insight. i've not heard this rhapsody played better.

Has anyone ever seen the score of this? How come no one ever plays the ossia to the glissandi part?

This was an excellent, and very convincing performance. It brought out my inner gypsy (which I did not know I had).

Liszt, as his music was meant to be played.

I loved the way she glissed the notes so softly. She has brilliant technique, yet she also plays full of expression. Perfect!
