The thing people seem to not know is that Mozart was a little bit of an annoying guy. Mozart wrote most of his concertos as a joke, Mozart could have written waaayy better stuff for horn.
Well! I can say for a fact that Tuckwell knows what he's doing... And also he can do more than just do Mozart and R. Strauss. But recently i think he's one of the greatest people who can play the french horn really well. And this video gives me an idea of how to play the horn.
I love the fact a horn player finally called Mozart out lol I refused to play this piece as my freshman final based solely off Mozart's dis like for the horn and for the particular player he wrote it for. Don't get me wrong though, on a modern horn it's a nice sounding piece, but I'm sure he wrote it to exploit the horns natural weakness. I still don't understand why this is a standard audition piece though. Nothing particularly technical about it at all.
Ignaz leutgeb was one of Mozart's best friends. I don't think Mozart would have written all his horn concertos for Leutgeb if he didn't like him, and wouldnt have written four if he didn't like the horn.
i would have added to the video the development of the double horn with people like Frederich Kruspe, Carl Geyer, and C. F. Schmidt

In the Bennett piece he takes his mute out of the bell and sticks it *inside* the piano. I liked that. I liked it better than the piece anyway.
Where is part 5? I'd rather hear about the Britten Serenade for Tenor, Horn , and Strings.
