Fringe is one of the best written, produced and acted sci-fi shows ever to air on television. Yet everyone focuses on the whole Peter/Olivia thing. Why, oh why? Oh, yeah ... fangirls.
Good God. Watching this scene, almost two years after it originally aired, just gives me the chills. It's SO good. Anna Torv did such a fantastic job in this scene, it's incredible!

At the beginning I wasn't sure if this was Altlivia or Olivia in disguise (it's been a while since I saw this episode) but when she said, "Peter..." I INSTANTLY KNEW IT WAS OUR OLIVIA. o.o
How eerie that even intonation can set them apart....and yet Peter didn't figure it out later on. :L
I love this. I love how, despite the hair and the clothes, she is so clearly our beautiful, tortured Olivia. (Anna Torv is brilliant in this scene.) I love how her hand flutters when they kiss. I love how Peter pulls her closer. I love everything about this moment.
You know.. this scene could have been nicer..theres no chemistry,it felt empty,Josh and Anna were probably tired or something. Fringe still rule..4 more weeks til S4 yayy.

I love this scene more everytime! If only someone was there now to remind them of how beautiful it was, the way he didnt care that she knew, the way she just said 'yes you do', her hand hesitating over his cheek and of course the all important fact that he held her close!
I find his body language so interesting, this scene was the thing that made me think that maybe Olivia and and Peter weren't going to be together, he's drawing away at the same time as he is holding on. You get a tangible feeling that something important is missing. Shes hanging onto him desperately, but he's more conflicted.
@nomadicification Of course he's conflicted, Peter found out he is from the AU, his father wanted to use him to destroy universe, the woman he loved lied to him about his origins and KNEW FOR WEEKS but none of that matters.

Joshua is just soooo hot! I actualy saw Cursed yesterday for the first time, and I was like...wow...hot hot hot. That movie didn't do too well when it came out, but they should re-release it for Halloween. Jesse Eisenberg's in it and now that he's popular(The Social Network) maybe it could make some money.
Joshua is always so sexy and at ease with whoever he's partnered with...love him.
This scene really came out of the blue, knocked me down and left me mumbling "Did someone get the license plate of that truck?"
By that I mean it was so...so unexpected. But it was so awesome either...and the way Olivia seemed to pull back a bit but then Peter pulled her close...aww...
I hope Peter sees through the alt Olivia in the 3rd season and realizes that she's not his Olivia.
I'm terribly sad, I know, but I just finished going through S2 on DVD and just went squeee when this happened. Hope they don't walk it back in S3! And how refreshing to have a show that doesn't keep you waiting for 7 seasons, then chickens out.
S3 is not finished we get episodes 8 and 9 before the Winter Hiatus and it returns on 28 Jan 2011. Providing viewers in the US stick with Fringe on a Friday night and it can pick up a few more viewers fingers cross we will get a S4.
So sad that the relationship won't be going anywhere, at least according to Josh's interviews. :( It sounds like our Olivia will be in the alternate universe for quite some time, and he even refers to their relationship as brother/sister-like. John Noble said something about AltLivia seducing Peter, though - so there's always that to tide us over!!

Oh my god, her face when she kisses him is priceless!! You can see how much she's wanted to tell him that and how much relief and love was behind that kiss. I love it!! God, I love Anna Torv!!! Not only does she kick ass, but she can pull off genuine, heart-breaking emotional scenes like this one SOOO well :) Can't wait for season 3!

There has been rumors that our Olivia will be back by around season 3' half. More than how the whole Peter-Altlivia situation is gonna be developped, I'm EXTRA curious on how that will affect Peter and Olivia's relationship... Also, TPTB said that although in a extremely bad situation, we'll get to see what would her life be had she made different choices - maybe meeting her alt mother, Frank and beeing without Peter, will make Olivia understand that, basically it's all a matter of choices...

@x118xangelus I too loved the fact they finally kissed but I disagree with you about the Rachel thing, i don't think there was ever anything there between Peter and Rachel, it was always Olivia for him, I'm glad they didn't go there with Peter and Rachel, there was zero chemistry between them, also on a personal note I didn't like the Rachel character from the start, she just annoyed me for some reason can't quite figure out why she just did. Can't wait to see season 3 and where they go next.

I hope Peter doesn't get close to Alt-Olivia before he realizes the switch because we can't lose the momentum of them finally starting a real relationship in season 3. I wonder how they're gonna get the real Olivia back though and how long will Alt-Olivia last in our world without her mom and a "new" sister and niece? The moment I saw this I knew something bad was going to happen. Either one of them would die (thank God it hasn't happened... yet) or one of them would be left behind in the alternate universe. Guess I was right, even if it hadn't happened the way I thought it would.

If by "prime-universe Olivia" you mean Olivia Dunham from the this universe (the blue one), then yes, he did. The Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop that we knew from the start kissed. But when Olivia and William Bell were fighting the Fringe agents and Peter and Walter were setting up the device, Altlivia slipped in with Bell and Olivia was left to Walternate's imprisonment.

So sad that the relationship won't be going anywhere, at least according to Josh's interviews. :( It sounds like our Olivia will be in the alternate universe for quite some time, and he even refers to their relationship as brother/sister-like. John Noble said something about AltLivia seducing Peter, though - so there's always that to tide us over!!

Oh my god, her face when she kisses him is priceless!! You can see how much she's wanted to tell him that and how much relief and love was behind that kiss. I love it!! God, I love Anna Torv!!! Not only does she kick ass, but she can pull off genuine, heart-breaking emotional scenes like this one SOOO well :) Can't wait for season 3!

Cause they can either swap Olivias again in the season premiere OR it can last the whole effin season..
And what'll happen between them if the situation lasts ? Cuz usually couples get together much later in a show, so I was thinkin the writers took a step forward here only to step back in season 3.
We don't know how spending time with Bolivia will affect Peter or how meeting her mother will affect Olivia who obviously has a weakpoint there.

There has been rumors that our Olivia will be back by around season 3' half. More than how the whole Peter-Altlivia situation is gonna be developped, I'm EXTRA curious on how that will affect Peter and Olivia's relationship... Also, TPTB said that although in a extremely bad situation, we'll get to see what would her life be had she made different choices - maybe meeting her alt mother, Frank and beeing without Peter, will make Olivia understand that, basically it's all a matter of choices...

@x118xangelus I too loved the fact they finally kissed but I disagree with you about the Rachel thing, i don't think there was ever anything there between Peter and Rachel, it was always Olivia for him, I'm glad they didn't go there with Peter and Rachel, there was zero chemistry between them, also on a personal note I didn't like the Rachel character from the start, she just annoyed me for some reason can't quite figure out why she just did. Can't wait to see season 3 and where they go next.

I hope Peter doesn't get close to Alt-Olivia before he realizes the switch because we can't lose the momentum of them finally starting a real relationship in season 3. I wonder how they're gonna get the real Olivia back though and how long will Alt-Olivia last in our world without her mom and a "new" sister and niece? I think it's be funny on how she deals with that and who wants to bet that Ella will be the first one to suspect something is wrong and not Peter, LOL

this scene is so sweet, you can tell olivia has thought about saying those words for a long time before this scene.
i also like that she is so direct and confident and says 'you belong with me' not 'i belong with you'. that really sums up her character.

Is it terribly sad how much I love watching this?
The moment I saw this I knew something bad was going to happen. Either one of them would die (thank God it hasn't happened... yet) or one of them would be left behind in the alternate universe. Guess I was right, even if it hadn't happened the way I thought it would.
So. Freaking. Excited. for... SEASON THREE!

If by "prime-universe Olivia" you mean Olivia Dunham from the this universe (the blue one), then yes, he did. The Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop that we knew from the start kissed. But when Olivia and William Bell were fighting the Fringe agents and Peter and Walter were setting up the device, Altlivia slipped in with Bell and Olivia was left to Walternate's imprisonment.
In short, you are correct. :)
