2012 Yamaha R1 Review

When Yamaha R1 appeared in 1998,that was revolutionary bike! You could not buy similar bike in that time! I think that R1 since 2009 until now is ugly and too chopped,and the worse of everything is engine and very,very annoying sound! 1998 model is the best looking and sounding! Yamaha`s engineers ruined that beauty!

you guys are all dumb. there is a noticeable difference in the r1's. 08 was one of the favored models because the front end came to more of a point, opposed to the 09 where the front was more blunt. in the 12 the bike goes back to the point more and isn't as blunt. i agree i think it looks better, has more of a fierce look to it

Yamaha and suzuki the only brands of bikes that don't change much on looks. Very minor change to the body and not much change in power on those 2 bikes. The r1 has more power than the gsxr though

I'm a CBR Guy and i have to say BMW Did it again for 2012. As far as the new CBR goes im kind of disappointed i think they should have revamped the motor to give it more up top. I mean they had long enough, 5 years is more then enough time.... about the new R1 i like the old one better but thats just my opinion.

Im seeing people comment about how they like the old look better, what old look? the r1 has looked the same for the last couple years. Personally, i think Yamaha should tweak their fairings a bit more, dont get me wrong, its a beautiful bike, just looks like yamaha makes the same thing every year.

The engine is the same and so is the suspension largely, so I cant see this bike dragging its way up the rankings anytime soon. Yamaha needs to put it on a diet and give it 20 more hp
